The original title for the script was 'Fuck Buddies' but this wouldn't make it past the MPAA. It was changed to "Friends With Benefits", but then that title was changed because there was another movie with the same title, Friends with Benefits (2011), starring Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake. By the time pre-screening invitations were made, it had still not been decided whether the title would be No Strings Attached (2011) or Hooking Up.

Goofs
When Emma is carrying the two cups of coffee to the car after running into Adam, she carries them like they are empty, not accounting for the coffee inside. If there was coffee in either one, it would have spilled everywhere.

Lacklustre

This film is about two sex friends who, slowly but surely, develop feelings for each other.

Considering the cast and the big budget, "No Strings Attached" is very disappointing. The two leads are very attractive, but they have little chemistry with each other. Maybe it's to do with the nature of their initial relationship, they do not have any sparks with each other, and hence their subsequent feelings seem so forced and unrealistic. There is little comedy either, the whole plot is plainly delivered. With nothing much to laugh about, no romance to savour, "No Strings Attached" becomes a lacklustre bore.
