Exclusive: Ahead of next month’s European Film Market, U.S. firm Capstone and UK outfit Signature Entertainment are teaming up to launch a new joint sales agency venture called Capture.

The label will be led by Signature’s Ella Field and her team in London and will be a full-service international sales company, with additional financing opportunities for upcoming productions.

Capture will combine Capstone’s genre arm Blue Box with Signature International under one new umbrella. All of Signature International’s ongoing business will be absorbed into the new venture, including their catalogue and upcoming productions.

Capture is due to focus on commercially driven projects in all stages of development and production. First projects are due to be revealed in the near future and we’re told no job losses resulted from the merger.

The upcoming post-apocalyptic horror movie Please Don’t Feed the Children will mark the feature directorial debut from Destry Allyn Spielberg, the daughter of Steven Spielberg. First-look images have arrived ahead of the film’s world premiere at Sitges this week, introducing Michelle Dockery’s psychotic character.

Willis retired from acting back in 2022, following a diagnosis of aphasia. Willis leaves behind a prolific acting career, including roles in Die Hard and Pulp Fiction.

Starring Bruce Willis and Frank Grillo, A Day to Die is an action film about a man named Connor Connolly who finds out he has one day to pay reparations of $2 million. He seeks the help of his former military ops crew in order to help him secure this money before things get worse.

Two years after its release, A Day to Die makes its way into the Netflix Global top 10. A Day to Die squeaked its way into the no. 10 slot for the week of January 8–January 14, with 3.4 million views.

Possession horror is on trend this year, and that looks to continue with Judgment of the Dead. THR reports that the upcoming horror movie will star Mohamed Karim and give an Egyptian spin on the possession formula.

Karim will star and produce Judgment of the Dead. Stuart Ford’s AGC will co-produce with Karim’s Mk Global Entertainment.

The actor will play “Dr. Sherif Hawass, a renowned Egyptologist who must save the world, and the woman he loves, after an artifact he unearths releases an ancient evil.”

Thomas M. Hewlett wrote the screenplay for Judgement of the Dead based on Karim’s original idea.

Interestingly, Judgment of the Dead was initially announced in 2021, under the title Book of Chaos, as a Dark Castle Entertainment feature. Dark Castle initially launched in 1998 by Joel Silver, Robert Zemeckis and Gilbert Adler and most recently produced Simon Barrett’s directorial debut, Seance, and last year’s Orphan: First Kill.

The English-language romantic thriller, which is being produced by London-based Daniella Gonella and Jay Michaelson’s Dg Productions, is based on the true story of rising Polish stage star Stanislawa Uminska, who in 1924 killed her cancer-stricken fiancé in Paris upon his request as an act of euthanasia. On April 29, Bruce Willis’ storied filmography adds another credit with the release of “Fortress: Sniper’s Eye.”

The action-thriller starring Willis, Jesse Metcalfe and Chad Michael Murray is a sequel to 2021’s “Fortress” and is set to be released in select theaters, as well as on digital platforms and VOD. It’s just one of about 10 tough-guy titles still outstanding as Willis’ acting career comes to a close.

The actor’s family announced Wednesday that the superstar will step away from acting after being recently diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder caused by brain damage the affects a person’s ability to communicate. Since this is a day ending in “Y” that means it’s time for another Bruce Willis movie to arrive, this time it’s A Day to Die. I may have used that line before, but he’s putting out so many films I’m running out of ways to introduce them. Although given their rapidly declining quality I’m starting to wonder why I bother reviewing them at all.

A Day to Die opens in the middle of a hostage situation. A special security team that includes Connor and Mason is called in to deal with a hostage situation at a school that involves what appears to be some well-armed militia types. It all goes very badly due to the police somehow not noticing several guys with RPGs on nearby rooftops.

A4 presents Kagonada’s second feature After Yang in limited release, the latest in the distributor’s varied indie slate ahead of wide-release horror slasher X on 3/18 and sci-fi adventure Everything Everywhere All At Once on 3/25 — which is also opening SXSW Film Festival.

Vertical has released an official trailer for a generic action thriller titled A Day to Die, yet another boring new Bruce Willis movie to ignore. Even the title is generic and forgettable. After killing a drug syndicate member while protecting a parolee, Connor Connolly has one day to pay two million dollars in reparations he doesn't have to Tyrone Pettis. He is forced to ask his old military ops crew, led by Brice Mason, to come together and somehow get two million dollars before Connor loses everyone he loves. Bruce Willis co-stars with Kevin Dillon, Frank Grillo, Leon, Gianni Capaldi, Johnny Messner, Vernon Davis, and Brooke Butler. Not a bad cast, but nah... These dime-a-dozen Bruce Willis movies are as bad as they've ever been, and I really hope no one is wasting their money on them. Just stay away.

Exclusive: Vertical Entertainment has secured the U.S. distribution rights to A Day to Die, an action-thriller starring Frank Grillo, Bruce Willis, Leon, and Kevin Dillon. Wes Miller directed the indie from a script he co-wrote with Scott Mallace and Rab Berry. The pic is expected to be released in 2022.

In the film, a disgraced parole officer (Dillon) is indebted to a local gang leader and forced to pull off a series of dangerous drug heists within twelve hours in order to pay the $2 million dollars he owes, rescue his kidnapped pregnant wife, and settle a score with the city’s corrupt police chief (Willis), who is working with the gang leader and double-crossed him years ago.

Gianni Capaldi, Brooke Butler, Vernon Davis, Mohamed Karim, Alexander Kane, and Curtis Nichouls round out the cast. Nichouls also produced the film alongside Andrew van den Houten and DJ Dodd. Capstone Group is handling global sales.
