Memento Intl., the well-established Paris-based international sales company behind “Call Me by Your Name,” is rebranding as Paradise City Sales and is bringing “My Notes on Mars,” starring Greta Lee and Andrew Scott, to the EFM.

Emilie Georges, who founded Memento Intl. 20 years ago, launched the production vehicle Paradise City a few years ago with London-based Naima Abed. The pair have had great success with the pics they delivered, notably 2025 Sundance hit ”Atropia,” starring Alia Shawkat and Channing Tatum, and Anthony Chen’s 2023 drama ”Drift,” with Cynthia Erivo. “My Notes of Mars,” Hungarian director Lili Horvát’s English-language debut feature, is the latest co-production on Paradise City’s slate.

Two years ago, it was announced that Stranger Things and The Whale star Sadie Sink had signed on to star in O’Dessa, a post-apocalyptic rock opera from Patti Cake$ writer/director Geremy Jasper. Now, the Searchlight Pictures project is set to receive a streaming release through Hulu on March 13th – and with that date just one month away, a trailer has dropped online. The film follows the three protagonists as they set off across the US on a search to find a missing fourth friend, revealing truths about themselves and contemporary American society along the way. The first episode of Hulu’s new TV show Paradise ends with a moody cover of Phil Collins’ “Another Day in Paradise,” by Joyner. However, things could have gone in a different direction for the twisty political thriller, if Guns N’ Roses had gotten on board.

In a recent Variety profile of series star Sterling K. Brown, it was revealed that the original title for Paradise was in fact Paradise City. However, writer Jennifer Maas explains, the title “was shortened when the studio couldn’t come to terms with Guns N’ Roses on use of the band’s 1988 hit song of the same name, or its title.”

Without getting into spoilers, Paradise takes place in an idyllic community where the former President of the United States is being protected by Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Brown) — until, that is, President Cal Bradford (James Marsden) is unexpectedly found dead.

Cash Out opens with Mason Goddard and his crew stealing an outrageously expensive supercar as what he intends to be his last heist. Things don’t go as planned however as one of them, his girlfriend Amelia no less, is an undercover FBI agent. He barely escapes, and since he was already planning to retire, takes it one step further, he fakes his death and drops out of sight.

Three months later, his brother Shawn drops by trying to interest him in coming out of retirement for one more job. That doesn’t work, but when another member of the crew, Link calls he’s packing and on his way to the airport.

The next thing we know, Mason and Shawn are kidnapping a bank manager and the plan is in motion.

Deadline first reported in May that 20th Century landed the project following a heated bidding war. While plot details are vague, the spec is described as a buddy action comedy set in the criminal underworld.

James Franco and Tommy Lee Jones have been cast in the action thriller The Razor's Edge, which begins production June 25. The film follows a mob hitman facing a perilous mission after his daughter's kidnapping. After being cancelled in 2018, Franco is trying to make a comeback with international films from France and Cuba and dark thrillers like The Razor's Edge and The Policeman.

Producer Corey Large announced today, May 13, that actors James Franco and Tommy Lee Jones have been cast in the action thriller The Razors Edge. Demian Lichtenstein (3000 Miles to Graceland) is directing the film from a screenplay co-written by Lichtenstein and Vance Duplechin. Red Sea Media will be handling international sales and will debut the film for buyers at the upcoming March du Film in Cannes. Production starts June 25 in Georgia.

Exclusive: We can tell you that James Franco and Oscar winner Tommy Lee Jones are leading the action thriller The Razor’s Edge from producer Corey Large and filmmaker Demian Lichtenstein (3000 Miles to Graceland).

Red Sea Media is handling international sales and will debut the film for buyers at the upcoming Marche du Film in Cannes. Cameras roll June 25 in Georgia.

Lichenstein is helming off a screenplay he wrote with Vance Duplechin. After a mob hitman vows to leave his deadly past behind, he faces an impossible choice when his daughter is kidnapped and the woman he loves becomes a target of the syndicate. He is forced to undertake one final, perilous mission while being pursued by an assassin even more lethal.

Pic is executive produced by Kirk Shaw. BondIt Media Capital is financing with Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor and Jordan Nott also executive producing.

“I’m excited that we have signed the superbly talented actors James, Suki and Tommy Lee to bring The Razor’s Edge to the big screen. They are perfectly suited to embody the protagonists in director Demian’s script,” said Large. “We cannot wait to begin filming this taut thriller next month with an assist from our seasoned executive producer Kirk,” he added.

Franco was Oscar nominated for Best Actor for 127 Hours and is a 2x Golden Globe winner for James Dean, in which he played the title role, and took home Best Actor in Miniseries, and for The Disaster Artist which he won Best Actor Feature Comedy/Musical. He starred in Sony’s original Spider-Man trilogy from Sam Rami.

Oscar, Emmy, SAG, Golden Globe, and Palme d’Or winner Jones counts an Oscar and Golden Globe supporting actor win for The Fugitive and starred in Sony’s Men in Black trilogy. Jones won a Lead Actor Emmy for NBC’s The Executioners’ Song, and a Cannes Palme D’Or for Best Actor for Sony Pictures Classics’ The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada which he also directed. Kurt Sutter has been moving on from the world of Sons of Anarchy and Mayans M.C. with the development of his upcoming Netflix series, The Abandons. Even so, at least one major name from the franchise will be teaming back up with Sutter as one of the stars of the new show.

Per Variety, Ryan Hurst is one of three new cast additions to The Abandons, a Western drama series in the works at Netflix. This marks a Sons of Anarchy reunion, as Hurst previously played Opie in the hit show created by Sutter. The actor is also known for his role as Beta in AMC's The Walking Dead. In recent years, Hurst has also had starring roles in the TV shows Paradise City and The Mysterious Benedict Society.

A lack of news regarding Paradise City on Amazon Prime Video has fans worried Season 2 may never be released.

The musical drama - a direct sequel to 2017's American Satan - debuted on the streamer in March 2021, telling the story of a band, one of its biggest fans, and potential ties to the occult. 

Paradise City Season 1 debuted to generally favorable reviews, earning a 97% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, but Prime Video remains mum on the subject of a potential Season 2.

Updated with statement from Rose’s attorney: A new lawsuit accuses Guns ‘N Roses singer Axl Rose of sexual assault and battery over an alleged attack in a Manhattan hotel suite in 1989.

Sheila Kennedy’s suit claims she “suffered severe emotional, physical, financial and psychological distress” when Rose (real name William Bailey) “used his fame, status, and power as a celebrity and performer in the music industry to gain access to manipulate, control, and violently sexually assault” her.

The case was filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which provides a one-year window for sexual assault plaintiffs to file civil claims, regardless of the statute of limitations. That window closes on Thursday.

unDEFILED is a “sex trafficking baseball thriller” by director Matt McCaulley from a screenplay by Daniel, Matt & David McCaulley. The film follows an aging baseball player Mitch Jennings who finally gets his shot to play professional baseball but if he accepts that offer it would mean that he would be turning his back on a young sex-trafficked woman.

The thriller film stars former MLB player Bradford Haynes, SAG award nominee Stelio Savante, Cory Kays, Kalyn Wood (Wrath and Rituals), Sharonne Lanier, and Zach Sale.

Underwood’s first support slot for Gn’R came this past Saturday (August 5th) in Moncton, New Brunswick, where she opened with Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” and played Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me with Your Best Shot,” The Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses,” Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll,” and lastly and most notably, the Motörhead staple “Ace of Spades.”

Writer/director Nicholas Maggio made the action thriller Mob Land for his 13-year-old self, inspired by independent films of the 1990s. Maggio was inspired to create the story after meeting guys in northern Alabama who were avid muscle cars fans and documenting their lives. John Travolta plays a beleaguered sheriff caught in the crossfire of a revenge-seeking mafia in the film, which pays homage to the American neo-noir genre.

Writer/director Nicholas Maggio made the new John Travolta action thriller Mob Land for his 13-year-old self. “I was 13 and in my friend's basement in Pennsylvania, and we got a copy of the VHS for Reservoir Dogs,” Maggio admitted. “I remember having my mind just absolutely blown that this was all possible. I didn't know that film because I grew up with my dad. We watched Ben-Hur and Lawrence of Arabia. We didn't watch French Connection or Bullet.

Exclusive: LA-based comic book publisher Sumerian is lining up a comic book series based on the 2000 horror classic American Psycho, starring Christian Bale as iconic madman Patrick Bateman.

The four-issue comic book series, publishing later this year, will have a dual narrative, one showing a different perspective of Bateman’s killing spree (with a notable “twist”), and another revealing a modern day arc with “surprising connections to the past”.

Gn’R highlighted two reviews from major UK publications in particular: one by music critic Neil McCormick of The Telegraph subtitled “Welcome to the Mumble” and an even harsher piece by The Independent’s Mark Beaumont that called Gn’R “frontrunners for the worst Glasto headline set of all time.”

Beaumont pulled no punches, writing that Axl Rose “flips between a lower register that resembles a clogged lawnmower and a higher one that sounds like Barry Gibb suffering the mother of all wedgies.” Ouch.
