An early teenage boy was convicted for having killed his teacher. More than ten years passed by and a female doctor was killed in a parking lot near the hospital where she worked. Soon after detectives realize she was pregnant: her parents are devastated by the news, as well as her fiancèe (Matthew McNulty), a porter who had difficulties in sleeping at night. He looked clean at first, so detectives lead the investigation to her former boyfriend, but they made a mistake. Soon after, Brooks and Devlin figured out the grieving guy had an affair with a psychiatric social worker. Being the prime suspect, he was arrested and he confessed the killing other than stating to have changed identity, living under a fake name. Is he really guilty or would he cover up someone else?
Steel is really stubborn in this episode and finally he managed to reach the truth. But what happen in the last line devastated him and his colleague.
