Two stars because I feel sorry for Patricia Heaton

Otherwise I'd have given it one. Denim must've longed for Taylor Sheridan to rewrite this atrocious script. Acting, editing, and writing are all CW network quality. Even then, it would be the CW's lowest-rated show. My primary concern is for Tom Wopat's hairless, aging chest. We are subjected to it throughout the movie for reasons that are unknown. On the plus side, there is no sex, no smoking, no cussin', and no nudity. A little gambling and some alcohol. Scenery is decent with a good number of overhead shots of colorful trees. Watch the FreeVee from Amazon Prime Video and forget about renting the second and third installment of this trilogy.

Would make a good TV series

I liked the movie. Liked the characters and the acting was decent. It was great to watch something and not be embarrassed by content. Would love to see this become a series.

    County Line: All Good!

I give this movie 10 stars for being a great follow-up to the first County Line movie from 2017!

I was so excited when I saw this available on demand; we rented it and it was worth the $6. A quick-moving murder mystery with a lot of the cast from the first movie; if a character isn't in it, it's even explained in dialogue why they're gone, which is a wonderful touch along with the gray hairs coming out in both Tom Wopat and Patricia Richardson -- so refreshing to see older actors with gray hair!

It's an INSP film which means there's no bad language or sex; the fighting/action scenes are well done, and it's not just a bunch of martial arts moves. The humor is good, especially since this movie deals with an old-schooler working with the younger generation. The mystery is a good one and I'm excited to see the next County Line movie currently in post production.

I'd recommend this movie for people who like cop mysteries, similar to Jesse Stone but more family friendly with southern charm, and for those who enjoy the INSP channel!

    Loved It - Great sequel

I loved the first County Line movie and when I saw this was a sequel, I knew I had to watch it! This is a clean movie, just like the first film, without all the unnecessary "mature" content. The film is well-written with dialogue that made me laugh out loud quite a bit, action that caught me off guard more than once and good chemistry between all the characters. A lot of familiar faces, too. And a murder mystery, which is my fave! I was worried I might be disappointed with the movie since Jeff Fahey wasn't in it to reprise his role as Clint, but I found that I enjoyed this movie just as much as the first County Line. It might have a smaller budget than blockbuster movies, but I didn't feel it made it any less enjoyable. It's so hard to find good, clean movies that are made for an adult audience and not just geared at kids but this definitely fits the bill. I would love it if they made more!

Gunshot victim found exactly on the county line.

This movie is set in Georgia and was filmed in Georgia and North Carolina. I enjoyed it for Tom Wopat who I watched almost 50 years ago in "Dukes of Hazard". Now at 70 years old he takes on different types of roles. Here he is newly reelected, elderly Sheriff Alden Rockwell.

Kelsey Crane is newly elected Sheriff Joanne Porter of the adjacent county. She is trained in more modern theories and methods of law enforcement and that naturally causes clashes with the older men.

The meat of this story is the beginning, the annual reenactment of a Civil War battle, in costume and with muskets. One participant is found dead, shot not with a musket ball but with a 9mm bullet. Since the body is directly in the middle of the dirt road that separates two adjacent counties. Which Sheriff will take control of the investigation?

My wife and I watched it streaming on Prime. We enjoyed it, for the most part, but too much of it stretches the realm of believability. For example, one scene where the criminal suspects shoot at the feet of the arriving law enforcement, as to not hit them. With a high-powered rifle. Then nothing of consequence happened to the shooters.

Then, at the end when the killer and his motive were revealed, the short scene systematically explained point-by-point why he was killing people. Something that the movie provided no clue about so everything before that point was just a series of red herrings. The hallmark of a mediocre movie.

Yes, it is not a particularly good movie but we enjoyed enough of the actors that it wasn't a complete waste of time.
