There’s no stopping Pedro Pascal from dominating the entertainment industry as the famed Internet daddy-slash-superstar gets booked with numerous projects from this year all the way to 2027. It’s not surprising anymore given how successful his career has been over the past few years, but it’s incredible to see how well he’s maintained the momentum, especially in a crazy world like Hollywood.

It’s safe to assume he’s slowly surpassing some of the veteran A-listers in the acting world, such as Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr., and Will Smith. While they are still active and working on a couple of projects, they no longer have that buzz on social media unlike before.

Hence, such a glorious franchise taking a chance to branch off into different genres to keep its influence in the fan base intact, is not a surprise. What is surprising, though, is that the makers decided to maximize on one of the most underrated Arcs of the series for an RPG game.
Fascinatingly, the game not only became one of the most anticipated games of the entire franchise, but it also became famous for just how short-lived its glory days were.

Sydney Sweeney will star as boxing legend Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic about the fighter's life. Animal Kingdom's David Michd will helm the project, which should begin production this fall. Martin retired in 2012 with a 49-7-3 record, boasting a stunning 31 victories by knockout, and she has been inducted into six hall of fames.
And in this corner Sydney the actress Sweeney weighs in on her upcoming biopic about a true boxing legend. The star of the wildly successful romantic comedy Anyone but You, who is also coming fresh off of her starring role in the horror flick, Immaculate, will portray boxing Hall-of-Famer Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic led by filmmaker and Animal Kingdom executive producer David Michd. Sweeney seems very excited about the future sports drama, which is slated to start production this fall, and she admires how Martin who was once represented by Don King legitimized female boxing.

Leonard Cohen had a huge impact on generations of fans, and So Long, Marianne star Alex Wolff is one of them.
Speaking exclusively to Deadline ahead of So Long‘s worldwide premiere at Series Mania this week, Oppenheimer and Hereditary actor Wolff paid tribute to the late singer-songwriter. “His contribution to my life has been so substantial that whatever words I have don’t sum up what he’s meant to my working life and to me personally,” he said.

Exclusive: The creator of Canadian smash Letterkenny has struck a multi-year content deal with streamer Crave and New Metric Media that Crave’s programing boss says is a first of its kind.
With Letterkenny’s 12th and final season dropping on Boxing Day, Jared Keeso will subsequently make 49 episodes of Letterkenny spin-offs including Shoresy and other potential shows across several years.
Unveiling the news to Deadline, Crave VP Content Development & Programming Justin Stockman said “this is probably the only deal that has ever been done like this in Canada.” The deal does not prevent Keeso from making shows for other platforms, eschewing the golden handcuffs approach taken by some of the major Hollywood players.
“There is not a lot of pre-committing in Canadian content so this is pretty unique but shows our belief in Jared and the show, and in other shows that don’t exist yet,” added Stockman. “This...

During a panel discussion on faith and comedy at the Just For Laughs festival on Saturday, Ramy Youssef talked about his father foretelling the Hollywood actors strike when offering early career advice.
Youssef, who portrays his Muslim faith with both devotion and defiance in his Hulu series Ramy, told the comedy festival audience about his Egyptian-born father discouraging him early on from becoming an artist and entertainer because he’d have to provide for his family one day. “He was always like, ‘This is a beautiful hobby for you to have. Grow the hobby.’ But I remember him clearly saying, ‘One day, real life is going to start,’” he recounted.
The current industry shutdown as Hollywood actors on picket lines seek fair pay, including residuals from streamers, has that warning from his traditional accountant father ringing in his head. “Now we’re in the strike, and, well, here it is!

Swae Lee teams with Drake for his new song “Won’t Be Late.” The younger of the two brothers comprising Rae Sremmurd began teasing the new single via social media on Wednesday, writing, “Vibes drop starting tomorrow.”
The teaser description aptly fits the mood of the Tekno-produced “Won’t Be Late,” with its island and house-flavored grooves serving as an undercurrent to the pair’s rhymes, which discuss the merits of taking it slow in a relationship. “Baby, don’t fight it, you’re giving me life,” Swae Lee sings.

Madonna albums from this century fall into two categories: the playing-it-safe ones, and the “Wtf is she thinking?” ones. You might be tempted to assume the mega-weird ones are better, but nothing is ever that straightforward in the Madonna universe. Confessions on a Dance Floor was her totally safe execution of an obvious idea — why doesn’t history’s greatest disco mastermind just make a damn disco record? — but it was also brilliant. Whereas the certifiably flaky American Life was certifiably ass. That’s just one of the many reasons...

So, this looks surprisingly cool. The Signal, a new sci-fi/thriller with some hints of horror, is the first mainstream film from cinematographer William Eubank (Crave) and it looks like quite a compelling slice of cinema based on this new trailer. When we first started talking about Stamm's The Last Exorcism follow-up 13 Sins back in August of 2012, it was called Angry Little God. It may have undergone a title change, but its cast of Mark Webber, Rutina Wesley, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Ron Perlman remains rock solid.
Per Crave, who debuted the enticing one-sheet you'll see below, the film will be getting a March 14th release on iTunes and On Demand followed by a theatrical run from Radius-twc beginning April 18th.

Charles de Lauzirika has probably been involved with some of your favorite behind-the-scenes footage and DVD extras on classic films like Blade Runner and the cult series “Twin Peaks”.
With Crave (review here) he’s graduating to a new level of filmmaking by directing his first feature about an eccentric photographer who begins to walk down a very dark path. Moving into directing is a good move and a brave one (for anyone) but especially for Lauzirika since DVDs are dropping off more and more and extras are now harder to come by as studios don’t put the effort into new releases quite like they used to.
Crave is certainly a decent first effort but also an effort that Lauzirika himself isn’t completely satisfied with. For anyone looking to direct themselves one day, the below interview should offer some insight and advice for any first-timer.

While you may not know Charles de Lauzirika’s name offhand, you’ve likely collected a fair amount of his work already. The director of some of the biggest behind the scenes features on DVDs and Blu Rays including the Alien Quadrilogy box set, Blade Runner and The Amazing Spider-man among many others, has just seen his first feature film, Crave, released on VOD, on iTunes and theatrically this month. Crave is intriguing, complicated and immensely entertaining. It’s a film that is on one hand absolutely astounding for the combination of the emotional story arc and the rich world created within that and on the other hand a fascinating examination of a disintegrating mind.

Aiden (Josh Lawson) in Crave has a very active inside voice. Many people witness the effects of crime and violence but Aiden gets a birdseye view through his job as a freelance photographer taking pictures of murder scenes for a living. This hyperstimulation possibly in conjunction with a bit of psychosis leads Aiden to viciously reprimand himself for not stepping up with say two thugs start bothering a young female student on the bus or when an armed bandit bursts into a gas station convenience store. To make matters worse Aiden often fantasizes about what tough Aiden would do in a certain circumstance and its very good and heroic (often leading to beautiful coeds expressing their appreciating for his machismo orally).

Chronicling how the dysfunctional psyche of an emotionally disturbed person who regularly loses themself in a daunting moment can be a challenging prospect for many filmmakers. But first-time feature film writer-director Charles de Lauzirika offers a passionate understanding into the inspirations of a seemingly normal man who’s struggling to cope with his self-professed unhealthy fantasies, in the new drama-thriller, ‘Crave.’ While the main character in the film, Aiden, realizes that his fantasy of eliminating evil from the world as he wins over his true love are at times morbid, his actions showcase how even the most evil thoughts and actions can be borne from the purest intentions ‘Crave’ follows Aiden [ Read More ]

The world is crazy, and it can make you feel weak, but Charles de Lauzirika's Crave takes fear and frustration and turns it into a meandering bore. De Lauzirika is very aware of his film's influences, and there's no pretention about carving out new territory, but he doesn't show us anything we haven't really seen before. Just as his protagonist looks to find love and strength, Crave stumbles around trying to find a novel idea worth exploring. Further burdened by miscasting and an ill-fitting visual style, the film slogs around, occasionally bumping into a worthwhile performance or relationship, but is ultimately sucked into a void where the harder it tries to find meaning, the less it means anything. Aiden Pogue (Josh Lawson) is a crime scene photographer who, when not looking at the mangled carcasses of murder victims, can only see his inadequacies. He envisions himself as a violent...

Fact: It's impossible to hate Ron Perlman. Okay, so maybe we don't have any actual, statistical evidence on hand to back that up as fact, but we're still pretty sure it's true. There's just something about him that's inherently likeable. Maybe it's that he looks like a battle-hardened teddy bear. Maybe it's because he's great at nailing deadpan comedy. Whatever the case, it's really, really hard to not get excited any time you see Ron Perlman's name in the credits, because it's a guarantee at least one thing in the movie will be good. In the case of Crave, thankfully the entire film is a good, solid thriller about a crime-scene photographer with an increasingly disturbed imagination, but it's Perlman specifically that brings us...

Crave is the feature debut of Charles de Lauzirika, a man best (un)known for directing/producing DVD special features. So what, you say? Sew buttons on a dead hobo's suit! You know you love yourself some special features, and de Lauzirika is responsible for some quality content on many a quality disc. Hell, his Alien 3 featurettes might be better than the film itself. But does this qualify him to tell a more complex story? The story being that of a crime scene shutterbug named Aiden who becomes increasingly more detached from reality? A tragi-comic character study full of pitch black humor? An unlikely romance with moments of extreme discomfort? A story full of emotion and nuance and gray morality? Because that's the delicate balancing act...

Director Charles de Lauzirika talks his feature directorial debut Crave, in theaters December 6
Some filmmakers often have various different professions in the film industry before that directorial debut, whether it be writing, editing or working in visual effects, to name a few. Charles de Lauzirika had the opportunity to observe countless A-list filmmakers on the set while working as a producer and director of behind-the-scenes documentaries that are found on the bonus features of Blu-ray and DVD releases, before making his directorial debut with Crave. This indie thriller stars Josh Lawson as Aiden, a freelance crime scene photographer, who makes his living by capturing gruesome murder scenes on film, while he slips into his own equally-dark fantasy world to escape his reality. I recently had the chance to speak with Charles de Lauzirika for Crave, which co-stars Emma Lung and Ron Perlman, about his first feature film, debuting in theaters December 6.

Crave is so close to being the next fantastic piece of pulp cinema to depict vigilante justice, but at the same time, Charles de Lauzirika’s first directorial feature simply treads water for what seems like forever, only climaxing for a short period before going out with a timid whimper. There was no reason for this flick to march past the hour and a half mark, yet I found myself checking my watch an hour into the “mayhem,” only to find close to another hour still remained – causing an exasperated sigh. Like I said, Lauzirika is so close to creating a flashy bit of independent bliss, but our main character’s mental struggle turns out to be nothing but a misleading, long-winded chore.
