Amazing combination of different emotions of actors to make a unique story more thrilling.
R Balki directed his vision through Dulquer and Sunny Deol. Shreya Dhanwanthary and Pooja Bhatt gave a new perspective to the film. Every detail in the film is not to miss.
A huge tribute to Guru Dutt's 97th birth anniversary and homage to the late director's film Kaagaz Ke Phool.
It really depicts the pain of all kind of artists, like, painters, film-makers, actors and every creators in the world who suffers from "wrong criticism". You will be totally CHUP while experiencing in theaters.
Kudos to the entire team!!!!

Well directed, well written and masterfully shot. The build up had me glued to my seat, every frame was just a delight to watch. References to Guru Dutt's Kagaz Ke Phool were tastefully done and all in all the serial killer and his various activities were depicted with a finesse that would make one's skin crawl. The cast gave excellent performances and the hauntingly beautiful music was just the accentuation that the film needed to top it all off. All in all, an extremely enjoyable and goosebump-inducing film by R. Balki. Worth a watching in your nearest movie theater for sure. Chup = chills..
Biases first I love guru dutt to the core, Amitabh Bachchan and Sunny Deol.
An extra Mark for the love of craft of Guru Dutt. In the opening credits when his name was mentioned I knew I would be judging this one harshly.
I love saga of sorts with good thriller quotient and love for cinema. The S. D. Burman and O P Nayyar music reminiscence was a welcome pleasure.
The movie has a good message about the harshnesss of some professions like movie criticism how important and unimportant they are and if compromised how they can ruin the pleasure of an audience.
Although I am fond of the work of Mr Sunny Deol and have been looking for his work since Ghayal returns, I feel he was underplayed and underutilized. His character is called Aravind and the Tamil actor who starred in Roza would have been a perfect choice for this role.
Halfway through the movie I felt it was too R Balki like similar to Shamitabh and only later I discovered it was his directorial.
The movie is great and has all the elements you want from a guru dutt tribute from music to lights to story. The presence of stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Pooja Bhatt only add to the brilliance.
Dulqueer Salman is finally finding footing in Hindi cinema and hope we see more of him.
Disappointed with Sunny Paaji being toned down. He is too big an actor to waste in such mediocrity. Hope his next release Baap alongside Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt and Mithun Chakraborty do justice to his onscreen persona.

Finally, a movie which deserves good word-of-mouth publicity. Watched the preview show and I am quite impressed with the screenplay and direction.
Background reprised music kept the soul of the film alive. Has one song which I felt should have been avoided to keep the intensity intact.
Performance is good, all supporting casts played their role well.
It was nice to see Sunny and Pooja after so long. Salman's performance looks very natural and impressive.
It's not a typical edge of the seat thriller but is still very gripping which would keep you curious till the end.
The climax felt a bit rushed but overall worth a watch for thriller lovers.

A brutally honest and spine-chilling psychological thriller from R Balki that flaunts a brilliant lead act from Dulquer Salmaan alongside a subtle and memorable cop-act by Sunny Deol !
The narrative by Balki moves in a lethargic pace but has its own beauty and the tight screenplay ensures that the audience is glued to the screens right from the word go!
The interval block and the climax sequences were top- notch and made memorable by haunting music and performances
The references to yesteryear classic 'Kagaz Ke Phool' by maestro Guru Dutt was intertwined cleverly with the narrative and deserves a special mention.
Overall,Chup is an authentic Balki craft that deserves a watch from the cinemas for its novel narrative, stellar performances and beautiful musical score.
