The show is based on the books "Hidden in Snow" and "Hidden in Shadows" by Swedish author Viveca Sten. Karin Gidfors and Jimmy Lindgren wrote the series, and it's co-directed by Joakim Eliasson and Alain Darborg.

The show follows police officer Hanna Ahlander who, after being suspended from duty in Stockholm, moves to her sister's sister’s vacation home in a Swedish ski resort town called Åre.

Denmark has long trailed its Nordic neighbors in attracting foreign shoots to its shores, but that might be about to change.

The country’s government is to introduce a production rebate scheme worth 125M krone ($17.5M) to overseas productions. Expected to launch in 2026, the hope is it will be put Denmark in the frame for more film and TV shoots that the likes of Sweden, Iceland or Norway might otherwise snag and turn the European country into a “production powerhouse.”

The Danish government noted that the Swedish scheme amounts to about half of the new offer, with the Norwegian scheme “also far smaller.”

The actual shape of the scheme is yet to be determined, but Minister of Culture Jakob Engel-Schmidt will begin a dialog with industry leaders to create the system. What is known is productions shot in Denmark will have some costs incurred during production reimbursed.

Martha Plimpton and Mireille Enos have been officially announced as part of the cast of Brad Ingelsby’s upcoming series at HBO, a followup to his hit Mare Of Easttown.

The drama from Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby has added Martha Plimpton and Mireille Enos to its already large ensemble. Mark Ruffalo heads the cast as an FBI agent leading a task force investigating a string of drug-house robberies in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Plimpton’s presence in Task was revealed Sunday in a teaser for HBO and Max’s upcoming programming. There arent many filmmakers in history quite as influential as Stanley Kubrick, whose work continues to inspire new storytellers generations after his passing. Kubrick was one of the rare artists capable of working in multiple genres and finding success within them all.
