Tom orders four sacks of Arbuckle's. This is a brand of coffee. In 1872 a machine was invented that could roast and grind coffee beans, which were then packaged in sealed bags, with the original product being given the name Arbuckle Ariosa. It was so popular among cowboys of the day that few had ever heard of any other brand. It is also intended to be boiled in a pot rather than dripped. This brand, which includes a range of coffees and teas, is still available for purchase via mail order.
