The experience of pop stardom is a paradox that entices even as it ensnares. This duality lies at the heart of 2hollis’s fourth studio album, Star, which unpacks the disorienting spectacle of celebrity, including the desperate pleas for privacy that double as subtle flexes: “Are they looking at me?” the 21-year-old Hollis Frazier-Herndon asks on the confrontational “Tell Me.” He maneuvers through it all with a meticulously curated nonchalance, exuding the air of someone who couldn’t care less when, of course, he very much does.
Call it effortlessly try-hard or try-hard effortlessness—the default state of being for twentysomethings navigating the world as a self-defense mechanism. But Hollis manages to make this brand of performative indifference not just bearable, but at times even exhilarating.
With Star, Hollis continues to refine the contours of his sound, though it still largely manifests as a frothy blend of dance-driven Edm infused with touches of hip-hop.

Cartoon Network has a long history of offering just as many huge disappointments as hit shows. While some cartoons like Adventure Time and Clarence were controversial, they developed a strong fanbase and received many positive reviews. On the other hand, some shows failed to impress most viewers due to weak premises, uninteresting plots, and sometimes simply annoying characters.
From the incredibly disappointing Teen Titans Go! reboot to the ridiculous premise of The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange, some Cartoon Network shows divided fans. Meanwhile, othersfailed to create even enough interest to entice viewers beyond the first couple of episodes, let alone the first season or two.

Having just won a Golden Globe Award for his comeback performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once, Ke Huy Quan is anxious to do more acting and is, in fact, hoping he could bring his first-ever character back to the big screen. On an episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Quan said he would love to reprise the role of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’s Short Round in a new spin-off series — ostensibly showing the character to have followed in his mentor’s footsteps as an archaeologist. At a fan event, Quan told the story about how he was improbably chosen to play the role that catapulted him to ’80s stardom. Sid and Marty Krofft have often said that, through their programming, they “messed with kids’ minds.” But that has proven not to be a negative thing, as their programs not only entertained but inspired future content creators.
“Instead of trying to capture grounded reality with their puppetry, [Sid and Marty] celebrated the absurd and embraced the cartoon sensibility,” says Dan Milano, creator of “Greg the Bunny,” who later worked with the Kroffts on a feature adaptation of “H.R. Pufnstuf.”
“They understand a child’s imagination and how fragmented and sweet — but with an edge of darkness — it can be.”
Milano discovered at an early age that it was entirely feasible to grow up and become a paid creator by watching Krofft productions.
“It made it so that I didn’t feel it was unusual at all that I would draw silly pictures, do silly voices, put on puppet shows, make them talk, and...
