“American Love Story” at FX has found its first cast member.

Variety has learned from sources that Sarah Pidgeon has been cast in one of the lead roles for the upcoming anthology series, which was originally announced in 2021. As previously reported, the first season of the series will focus on John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. Pidgeon will star as Bessette.

Reps for 20th Television and FX declined to comment.

Bessette was raised in New York and Connecticut. After a brief modeling career, she went on to rise through the ranks at Calvin Klein, eventually working as director of publicity and dealing with the brand’s celebrity clients in New York. She began dating Kennedy in 1994 and the two were married in 1996. They were the subject of intense media scrutiny during their time together, with their lives frequently featured in the tabloids.

The actress appeared in five seasons of Ryan Murphy’s FX anthology series but Lange seems to be done with it.

While appearing at the Glasgow Film Festival for the premiere of Long Day’s Journey Into Night, an Irish radio station asked her if she would be returning to the horror series.

“Oh Christ, no,” Lange said. “I mean, I haven’t done it for more than 10 years, 12 years, so, no, I’m not doing it.”

The interviewer told Lange that Season 13 of American Horror Story could be the final one for the series and asked if that would move her to return.

Robert De Niro is set to make his TV debut in “Zero Day.” The Netflix series follows a former U.S. president who’s tapped to lead a commission tasked with tracking down the perpetrators of a devastating cyberattack responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans, only to discover a vast web of lies and conspiracies.

The limited series, which premieres Feb. 20, comes from co-creators Eric Newman (“Griselda”) and Noah Oppenheim (“Jackie”). Lesli Linka Glatter is an executive producer and director of all six episodes. De Niro, Michael S. Schmidt and Jonathan Glickman also executive produce the series.

After the cancellation of “9-1-1: Lone Star” at Fox, there’s a new series coming to Ryan Murphy’s emergency responder franchise: “9-1-1: Nashville,” set to premiere on ABC during the 2025-2026 season.

The news follows Variety‘s October report that a new “9-1-1” spinoff was in the works.

Though plot and casting details are yet to be shared, it can be assumed that the new “9-1-1” spinoff, like the flagship series and “Lone Star, will follow the work and personal lives of a team of first responders, this time in Tennessee.

“9-1-1” was created by Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear and premiered on Fox in 2018 before moving to ABC for its seventh season in 2024. Currently on its eighth season, the series is set in Los Angeles and stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Guzman, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi and Gavin McHugh.

Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's pulpy, campy horror anthology series "American Horror Story" isn't for everyone, but fans of the show are fortunate in that there is now a lot of it to love. Since each season tackles a different subgenre within horror, everyone is bound to have favorites based on what kind of horror they prefer. Slasher fans might prefer season 9, "American Horror Story: 1984," which is set at a summer camp and riffs on classic 1970s and 1980s slashers, while fans of spooky, sexy, silly vampire stories might prefer season 5, "American Horror Story: Hotel." There is a wildcard at every wedding, but in the case of “You’re Cordially Invited,” there are two. And they are played by Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.

Now streaming on Prime, the film directed by Nicholas Stoller centers on two families who unknowingly double book their weddings at the same small inn — an inn that can really only accommodate one wedding. For Jim (Ferrell), it is his daughter’s, and for Margot (Witherspoon), it is her sister’s. Naturally, the two immediately go insane, trying to force the other to back down.

Somehow, Ferrell and Witherspoon have never led a comedy together, but they are doing it now with a very familiar cast.

Brooke Shields is returning to the small screen. The actor, who first rose to fame as a child star in 1978's Pretty Baby and 1980's Blue Lagoon, will appear alongside Kim Kardashian in Hulu's new legal drama, All's Fair.

Per TV Line, Shields will also share the screen with three-time Emmy Award winner and eight-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close. All's Fair is described as a "high-end, glossy and sexy adult procedural set at an all-female law firm." Created by Ryna Murphy, the series will also feature Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash-Betts, Matthew Noszka, Teyana Taylor, and two-time Oscar nominee Naomi Watts. While character details are scarce, Kardashian has been cast as a successful divorce lawyer.

In the world of psychological horror, a new film is set to captivate audiences as Alex Essoe and Lou Taylor Pucci team up in ‘The Avalanche.’

The indie film, heralded by Deadline, marks the feature debut of Cuban-American filmmaker Johnny Coffeen, who previously served as assistant editor on ‘Short Term 12.’

The story plunges viewers into a chilling scenario where two ex-lovers find themselves trapped together following an avalanche.

Isolated from the outside world, the tension escalates as their past begins to haunt them, blending reality with paranoia.

The cabin becomes a stage for eerie apparitions and escalating fears, pushing the characters to question whether the true threat is outside in the snow or lurking within the walls surrounding them.

Johnny Coffeen is no stranger to the festival circuit, having directed several acclaimed shorts, including ‘The Swan Girl,’ which debuted at David Lynch’s Festival Of Disruption and earned a Student Academy Award.

Genre favorite Alex Essoe is adding another horror credit to her resume with The Avalanche.

Deadline reports that the actress has signed on to star in the indie film alongside Lou Taylor Pucci (Evil Dead), with principal photography set to begin this month.

Cuban-American writer-director Johnny Coffeen, who began as the assistant editor of Short Term 12, will make his feature debut on the psychological horror film.

The Avalanche follows two former lovers, played by Essoe and Pucci, forced together by an avalanche that cuts them off from the world.

“As the weight of their shared history begins to crack the thin veneer of civility, strange apparitions stir in the dark corners of their shelter.
