Cordelia Cupp (Uzo Aduba) is the smart but quirky consulting detective who is brought in when the chief usher to the White House A B Wynter (Giancarlo Esposito) is found dead during a banquet for the Australian Prime Minister.

Guests included Kylie Minogue and Hugh Jackman.

The advisors to the President want all this kept hush hush. After all it looks like a suicide.

Cupp has ideas after examining the crime scene.

The episode title references Edgar Allen Poe which might be important later on. There is a large cast and it needs to be if this story can be sustained for eight episodes. Solid but not brilliant for the opener.
