Wayside Creations is best known for their fan-filmed series Fallout: Nuka Break, but Finnish video game developer Almost Human hopes they’ll become even more well-known for their upcoming fan-filmed series, Legend of Grimrock. The several-episode program that will eventually be combined into a feature-length film is based on Almost Human’s video game of the same name. The developer is marketing the video game version as “the ultimate dungeon crawling RPG” and it’s using the forthcoming series created by Wayside Creations to help further spread the word. Legend of Grimrock is the product of an interesting and unprecedented relationship between rights holders and creators. We’ve seen crowdfunding campaigns based on pre-existing intellectual property, in which the creators of the fan film or series either couldn’t make a profit on their work (as was the case with Wayside’s very own Fallout: Nuka Break) or were served...

"Tell me who you are!" There is a worth watching short film going around the web called Logan, that is indeed inspired by a certain comic book character of the same name. It's made by two Swedish filmmakers named André Hedetoft and Andreas Climent, a regular reader of Fs who has been emailing about it as well. The short is out in full via Vimeo and stars Tobias Nilsson as "Logan", plus Kola Krauze ("Wallander") and Deepak Tara. This is described simply as "a dark Scandinavian spin on the origin of Wolverine." Obviously it gets a bit bloody, but beyond that it's just a well-made short film. And it's all in English. Enjoy! Logan is short action thriller with comic book inspiration directed by Andreas Climent and André Hedetoft. Embedded in high def from Vimeo. The music is by S. Peace Nistades ("Dragon Age: Redemption"). As explained in the summary,...

We’re all very familiar with the character Wolverine (played so brilliantly in the X-Men movies by Hugh Jackman) but we’ve never really seen what happened to him when he was younger. Two Swedish film makers have decided it’s about time we saw a little from his past and have created a 5 minute short film they’ve called ‘Logan’.
Title: LoganDirectors: Andreas Climent and André Hedetoft.Cast: Kola Krauze (“Wallander”, “Solsidan”), Tobias Nilsson and Deepak Tara.Visual effects by Martin Kupski (“Hellboy 2″, “Ninja Assassin”).Music composed by S. Peace Nistades (“Dark Woods”, “Dragon Age: Redemption”).More Info: LoganShort.com
A lone man locked inside a dark room is violently interrogated about his identity. When his captors finally find out who he is, they realize that he isn’t locked in with them, they are the ones locked in with him…
Please note, this short film contains violence and is Nsfw.

Swedish directors Andreas Climent and André Hedetoft were apparently sitting around the house one day and wondered: “Hey, what would happen if some dude caught Wolverine back when he was still a young teen name Logan and beat the crap out of him?” Well, as it turns out, bad things happen. To, er, the dude. Check out a new fanmade short film that wonders how a young Logan would deal with a brutal interrogation from Climent and Hedetoft, simply titled “Logan”. Like most fanmade short films, the payoff is at the end. Starring Kola Krauze (“Wallander”, “Solsidan”), Tobias Nilsson and Deepak Tara. Visual effects by Martin Kupski (“Hellboy 2″, “Ninja Assassin”). Music composed by S. Peace Nistades (“Dark Woods”, “Dragon Age: Redemption”). Check out the “Logan” Official Site. Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Tru Calling) has joined the Brad Krevoy project as a love interest for English actor Adam Rayner ( Hawthorne,Dragon Age: Redemption ), who portrays Simon Templar in a backdoor pilot (A backdoor pilot is a television movie which is used to gauge audience interest. If popular, the tv movie will go on to become a television series). Simon West ( Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, The Expendables 2) is directing the pilot from a script by Jesse Alexander (Heroes, Alias). Simon Templar was created by Leslie Charteris in 1928 for a series of books published as "The Saint", which lasted nearly 60 years. The Saint has previously given the small and big screen treatment including a 1960s series starring Roger Moore, and a 1997 film starring Val Kilmer. In a recent event to promote her new YouTube channel, Geek and Sundry (an event which was, incidentally, the largest-scale Google + Hangout that there’s been so far), web series queen Felicia Day (The Guild, Dragon Age: Redemption) briefly addressed her friend Joss Whedon’s upcoming superhero flick The Avengers, saying: “I know a couple of people in it, but some of them might be spoilers so I really can’t say.”
This could mean that The Avengers features Awesome Secret Surprise Cameos, or just that, in order to avoid spoilers, Felicia Day’s erring on the safe side. But for the purposes of crazed fanboy speculation, we shall assume the former, and hope for cameos as brilliant as those in The Muppets.
[Casting speculation spoilers follow.]

Is it better when a studio adapts a video game into a big-budget film with big name stars but then completely slaughters the story and turns it into some unrecognizable mess or when a low-budget production gives the fans six episodic entries that are decently written but horribly acted and filmed? It’s debatable. The latter is more likely to include fan-favorite elements that a studio would overlook in its attempt to make it universally appealing, but at the same time, it’s going to be all but impossible to watch by anyone who isn’t wholly forgiving purely because they’re getting to see their favorite game on the screen. Really, both versions require an apologist fan mentality to ever be considered good; and that holds true in the case of Dragon Age: Redemption, both written by and starring Felicia Day. This isn’t a well done fantasy series,...

It doesn't come as much of a surprise that a spinoff series has emerged from the popular "Dragon Age" video game universe but rather that it has taken this long for it appear but when Felicia Day was asked to voice the character of Tallis, an elven assassin, the doors cracked open and Dragon Age: Redemption was born.

Web series favorite Felicia Day is at it again! In 2011, Day had great success with the fifth season of The Guild and the debut of her Bioware/ Machinima series Dragon Age: Redemption, but it looks like she has even bigger plans for 2012. On Friday, Day #Ff her new company Geek and Sundry. Day tweeted to her followers that the new project will be "bringing you awesome web video awesomeness very soon!" Now, it is no secret that I am a big fan of Felicia Day and her work. The moment I saw this announcement I wanted to learn more. Beyond the description of offering "Eccentricities for your Entertainment," however, Geek and Sundry remains a mystery for the moment. The first and only video on the Geek and Sundry Youtube channel is a simple welcome message from Felicia Day herself. Day's introduction does not give much away about her new project,...

The season finale or Dragon Age: Redemption dropped today. Now, if you haven’t been watching Da:r (that’s how us viewers / cool kids write it), it’s a web series-gaming crossover from BioWare, Machinima, and online video sweetheart Felicia Day. This sixth and final weekly episode, dubbed Saarebas brings the story of Day’s ‘knife eared’ Evlin assassin Tallis to a climax and demonstrates the epic live-action world Day created based on a video game. I must confess, I’m not an avid player of Dragon Age the game. I only started watching Da:r because of Felicia Day. I’m a long-time fan of her seasoned web series The Guild. But last February, when Day showed a teaser trailer of her upcoming original web series on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, that was enough to get me to tune in. Felicia Day with elf ears? Sold! Though when the...

Today marks the release of the first episode of Dragon Age: Redemption, a new web series based on the popular BioWare video game series.
The series stars Felicia Day (The Guild) and Doug Jones (Hellboy) and is produced by Day's own production company, Knight of Good. The series focuses on Tallis (Day), an elf working for the Qunari, one of the groups in the fictional world of Dragon Age. She is tasked to track down Saarebas (Jones) a renegade mage of the Qunari who has escaped prison. But why am I telling you about it when you should just be watching it yourself.

The premiere of the sure to be fanboy/girl favorite original companion web series to video game publisher BioWare’s role-playing title Dragon Age II went live late last night/early this morning on Machinima’s YouTube channel. The first of six installments of Dragon Age: Redemption introduces us to our star Felicia Day’s character Tallis, an ‘knife eared’ Elvin assassin in moderately protective fantasy armor with crazy skills on the hunt for the dangerous and recently escaped Qunari mage Cerebus. Take a look: In addition to slaughtering pigs and humans in front of the camera, Day contributed a helluva lot to the series behind the camera, too. She wrote Redemption, executive produced the series along with Kim Evey and Dan Kaplow, and her Knights of Good Productions (the same crew behind her uber-hit web series The Guild) took on the physical production duties of the program. We caught...

The Guild panel at Comic-Con is about as close as the web series world has to a Steve Jobs keynote. The annual tradition packs the Indigo Ballroom at the San Diego Hilton with 1600 or more teeming Guild fans ready to see what rabbit Felicia Day and company have to pull out of their hats as a new season gets under way. The tricky part is their jaw-dropping previous years’ surprises set a bar even themselves would have a hard time besting. Who can forget two years ago when the cast strode out in full Guild avatar costumes to debut their mega-hit—17.5 million views and iTunes best-selling—music video, “Do You Wanna Date My Avatar?” followed by Wil Wheaton himself announcing his addition to the cast. Then there was last year’s Bollywood-themed “Game On” music video—with 2.3 million views—that would even top Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” on the iTunes charts for paid downloads.
