Hulu’s Prison Break reboot, which got a pilot order three months ago, is really starting to take shape — with the casting of another four main roles.

Mayans Mc showrunner Elgin James is writing this new Prison Break, and will executive-produce alongside Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring and the original series’ executive producers Dawn Olmstead, Marty Adelstein and Neal Moritz. Specific plot details have yet to be disclosed, but the project will tell a new story set in the same universe as the original series.

New casting information has just been revealed for the Prison Break offshoot that's in the works at Hulu. The project has a pilot that's currently being put into development, though the reboot hasn't yet been officially ordered to series.

Per Variety, the new Prison Break pilot has cast Emily Browning (American Gods), Lukas Gage (Dead Boy Detectives), and Drake Rodger (Landman) in major roles. While the show is set in the same universe as the original Prison Break, it was expected that it would follow a new cast of characters, and these additions mark the first names to be attached to the project. It's not yet clear if any original Prison Break actors will be making special appearances, but more casting information is likely to soon be released with actors starting to sign on for the pilot.

The Prison Break reboot at Hulu may not be giving us another season with Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), but it is giving us quite the new cast to make up for it. According to a new report from Variety, the Elgin James-created reboot has cast three series regulars — and they all come from majorly successful shows.

Emily Browning, Lukas Gage, and Drake Rodger have been cast to lead the show for the pilot episode that has been ordered by the streamer. And while you may not know those names off the top of your head, you absolutely know their faces and have likely seen (and loved!) at least one thing they have done in recent years.

Set in the same world as the original Prison Break, but telling an entirely new story of its own, the show will focus on three characters to be played by the actors above.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Crowe and Hawke are set to star in The Weight, a historical period drama set in 1930s Oregon. The film will be directed by McKinley, from a script written by Shelby Gaines, Matthew Chapman, and Matthew Booi. McKinley is an editor and producer known for American Gods and Kingdom. He recently served as an executive producer for Crowe's The Exorcism and has directed episodes of Debris and Kingdom. The Weight will serve as his feature film directorial debut.

Neil Gaiman, the best-selling author behind The Sandman, Good Omens, and American Gods has been in the headlines for unsettling reasons. Eight women have accused him of s*xual assault, abuse and coercion. The reports of these assaults span decades, with one dating back to the 80s. The first allegations emerged in July 2024 and it has since been a downward spiral for Gaiman. The champion of fantasy is now stuck in a storm of allegations.

As a result of such untoward reports, many projects based on Gaiman’s works have been halted or canceled. The people allegedly subjected to Gaiman’s diabolical acts range from fans to people working for him. Even though the British author maintains that all these sexual encounters were consensual, the multiple claims of abuse made against him do not help his case. Either way, he has suffered plenty of damage to his reputation.

Dark Horse Comics has canceled plans to publish the final issue of Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys comic series following the latest allegations of sexual assault against the author.

Following a bombshell Vulture cover story detailing sexual abuse allegations by eight women, Neil Gaiman has issued a statement maintaining his innocence. Gaiman, an acclaimed author who has enjoyed success across a variety of mediums, was first publicly accused of sexual abuse allegations last summer through the Tortoise Media series, The Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman. During the six-episode podcast, five women accused The Sandman author of sexual assault (Gaiman quickly denied those allegations). On Monday, more women came forward via a damning story, There Is No Safe Word, published by New York Magazine's Vulture.

Gaiman addressed the comments made in Vulture's report in a post titled "Breaking the Silence," published on his website. He admits he is "far from a perfect person" and acknowledges involvement with the women interviewed but denies ever engaging "in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone."

Exclusive: Wonder Project, the recently launched faith-based indie studio from Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten and Jon Erwin, has launched development on The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion, an adaptation of the New York Times bestselling novel by Fannie Flagg, to be produced by and star Country Music Hall of Fame member Reba McEntire.

Oscar winner Callie Khouri (Thelma & Louise) will direct from a script by Tony-nominated playwright and screenwriter Bekah Brunstetter (Maid), with McEntire being joined as producer by Jeremy Latcham for Wonder Project, as well as Khouri. Ben Howard and Erin Mae Miller will exec produce for Third Coast Content, with VP of Film Michael Musgrave overseeing the film for Wonder Project.

You can't welcome a person like Norman Reedus to the world of John Wick and not ask about how the gun-fu franchise compares to his long-running gig in The Walking Dead and spin-offs. Exclusive: Stephen King short story Autopsy Room Four, about a man trapped in an autopsy room, is being made into a feature film with British director Ranjeet S. Marwa and veteran Hollywood exec Jon Levin, the former CAA agent turned producer and manager whose exec producer credits include Netflix’s King adaptation In The Tall Grass.

Horror maestro King has given the greenlight for the adaptation, which is to be written and directed by Marwa, who has been prolific in low-budget U.S. and UK genre fare to date. It is currently in development.

Exclusive: Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner are in early talks to return for a new film in the Meet the Parents franchise, in development at Universal Pictures.

Plot details are being kept inside the circle of trust. John Hamburg — who co-wrote all three prior films in the franchise, and produced the most recent, Little Fockers — is set to write the screenplay. No word yet on who’s directing.

Jane Rosenthal and De Niro are returning to produce through Tribeca Productions, along with Jay Roach — who directed the first two films and produced all three past installments — through Delirious Media. Stiller and John Lesher will also produce through Red Hour Films. Executive Vice President of Production Development Matt Reilly and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garrell will oversee the project for the studio.

A year and a half ago, Netflix announced they had given a series order to The Boroughs, a supernatural mystery show that’s executive produced by Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers. A couple of months ago, they revealed an impressive cast had been assembled: Alfred Molina (Spider-Man: No Way Home) plays Sam, Geena Davis (Blink Twice) plays Renee, Alfre Woodard (Salem’s Lot) plays Judy, Denis O’Hare (American Horror Story) plays Wally, Clarke Peters plays Art, and Bill Pullman (Independence Day) plays Jack. Now, the names of more cast members have been revealed. Variety reports that the previously announced actors have been joined by Dee Wallace (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial), Ed Begley Jr. (Better Call Saul), Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle), Rafael Casal (Loki), Eric Edelstein (Twin Peaks: The Return), and Mousa Hussein Kraish (American Gods).

Details on the characters the new additions will be playing have not been revealed.

The latest collaboration between Netflix and Executive Producers The Duffer Brothers (“Stranger Things”) is the supernatural mystery series “The Boroughs.” Per Variety, six new cast members have been added, including actors Dee Wallace and Ed Begley Jr. (Strange Darling).

Rafael Casal, Jane Kaczmarek (“The Changeling”), Eric Edelstein, and Mousa Hussein Kraish have also joined the cast.

The logline for the upcoming series sounds like a blend of “Stranger Things“ and Cocoon that sees Senior citizens saving the world from an otherworldly threat. The official logline:

“In a seemingly picturesque retirement community in the New Mexico desert, a group of unlikely heroes must band together to stop an otherworldly threat from stealing the one thing they don’t have… time.”

The six new cast additions join previously announced cast members Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, and Bill Pullman. In other words, “The Boroughs“ is shaping up to have an impressive cast.

Per Deadline, a slew of new names have been announced for The Boroughs. Among them is Jane Kaczmarek (The Changeling), who was previously nominated for an Emmy for playing the family matriarch in the hit sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. Other new names joining The Boroughs include Rafael Casal, Ed Begley Jr., Eric Edelstein, Mousa Hussein Kraish, and horror genre icon Dee Wallace. Each of these actors is reportedly set to be featured in a recurring role.

The upcoming Netflix supernatural drama “The Boroughs” has added six new cast members.

The Penguin‘s visionary lead director, Craig Zobel, has signed a new multi-year, first-look deal at HBO.

The Emmy nominee helmed the first three episodes of the Gothic crime drama, helping establish the visual language of the series, as well as serving as an executive producer.

The Penguin started strong out of the gate with an acclaimed pilot and gradually became one of the network’s biggest hits in years, with its series premiere having racked up a cumulative 18 million U.S. viewers.

Zobel previously told The Hollywood Reporter that he kicked off his relationship with the show by writing Reeves a fan letter about The Batman. “I happened to have his email,” he said. “So I reached out to say, ‘Hey, not for nothing, [The Batman] was the superhero movie I wanted to see right now. You killed it.’ That was my first time saying anything to Matt at all.
