Granite Harbour was filmed on location in Aberdeenshire and Glasgow in April 2022. Aberdeen is the main backdrop for the series and the city has also been recently used for two other BBC dramas, Guilt (2019) and Vigil (2021).
The Bodach Stone bar is actually called the Fittie Bar on Wellington Street. Locally called Fittie or Footdee is a small fishing village at the entrance to Aberdeen Harbour and at one time a separate place to Aberdeen.
Filmed in and around Aberdeen the police station shown is the now empty Ruby House, on Ruby Lane former office block used by inland revenue.
