As this eight part Mexican drama series opens a woman forces her way into a building, shoots and injures a few people, then takes a doctor hostage on the building's roof. The police surround the building and the hostage taker is shot. A forensics officer arrives at the scene and is shocked to see the injured woman looks just like her, and addresses her by name. She soon learns many facts about herself that she didn't previously know... she was adopted and is actually a triplet. As she tries to learn more about her origins she finds herself endangered by those who for reasons that later become apparent, want it to remain a secret.
I thought this was a solid enough series although the premise will have anybody who watched 'Orphan Black' suspecting that this would turn out to be a Spanish language remake. Thankfully it doesn't take that route and gives us something different. There are plenty of twists and turns, some more obvious than others and a good degree of tension. Somewhat inevitably things do get a bit melodramatic towards the end. Maite Perroni did an impressive job as the three triplets; each of them was distinctive in appearance and manner. Overall a decent enough series that I'd recommend even if it isn't really a must see.

The writers of this series were probably smoking something when they wrote this . Take a little bit of Orphan Black - mix it with paranormal or mystical activities ... throw in azi experiments for the fun of it and pepper with random sex scenes along the way to keep it steamy enough and of course to justify whatever that police officer is doing in this series. And DO NOT be fooled - this has absolutely zero basis in anything remotely real other than Triplets reuniting (not even).
A complete and utter waste of time - deserves a 3 or 4 stars but I gave a star extra for the acting of the lead. Give it a miss and save yourself some precious time.

Potentially good story, but only average execution. First episode e starts strong but then the story slows down. The plot still develops in the next 5 episodes, but just to slow. It is further slowed down by pointless erotic and other scenes that last way too long and contribute nothing to the story or the plot. Acting is average and at times just over the top. Some scenes are confusing as it is not exactly clear where or when the happen? Memory? Dream? Connection?
Camerawork and photography are decent but not special in any way.
The theme as such has so much more potential than is displayed in this series. Watchable, but be prepared to fast forward pointless time-killing scenes.

Full of holes-often goes A to D without B and C. Especially at the end. Action moves on with no explanation of how situations are resolved. Things are suddenly and miraculously resolved and we just are supposed to move on as well. I don't want to give away plot so I'm being vague. But we are often taken to a tense "standoff" of a situation and then suddenly the characters are just somewhere else. Or they are free. Or in some other way we have just moved past the situation with no explanation. Even the ending does nothing the explain how we got from the bad guy (bad woman) holding a gun to her being locked away.
The premise of the story, without giving spoilers, is based on true events. More accurately, *similar* events. But enough to inspire a genuine twisty plot that leaves you both feeling enthralled and satisfied. Naysayers that reviewed it poorly simply don't have the intellectual capacity to connect the very spelled out dots and need to have every detail spoon fed, so don't let that dissuade you from watching it. It's a worthwhile mini binge for sure. It was a good time that had an ending that was modestly predictable (only reason I didn't give 10/10) but wrapped it up in some unexpected ways. Definitely enjoyed it.

This is an interesting thriller, stronger at the beginning episodes than at the end. Maite Perroni is fantastic in the lead role, but I wish they gave her something more stable to work with.
The series is a bit disjointed, I don't know how else to describe it. It's like some major scenes were left in editing on the cutting room floor, especially in the last episode. We jump from one situation to another without an explanation in between.
Even the credits claim there was nudity, but I don't recall any. If there was, it wasn't much. Maybe that was edited out too.
And this was filmed in Mexico? Most of the vehicles seem to have Mexican plates. But until halfway through I thought it was filmed in Spain. Everyone looks European, and are dressed in sweaters and jackets for colder weather. A couple scenes show heavily forested hills that just look out of place in most of Mexico. All these things together feel a little odd. But maybe that's what they were going for.

Can you really claim something is based on a real story when only 1% of it is real? The only real story here is triplets finding out they are triplets, but all the rest is fabricated. It's a cheaper version of Orphan Black (even the hair styles!) while mixing a bunch of other random stuff in an attempt to create something original. It wouldn't bother me so much if the story ended up being good, but it's not! They create a lot of unnecessary complexity, playing with the way events unfold, they think you'll be surprised with a big reveal and a plot twist, but it's actually predictable!
And why create two characters who work for the police but can't figure out much of anything on their own? Not to mention how dumb they can be sometimes.
The acting is good and that's the only reason why I'm giving 4 stars.

I thought this was a wonderful mystery thriller that kept me interested from the very beginning. I had a brief period where I thought the story was going to take an "orphan black" turn, but it didn't and I was grateful for the more realistic story. (Don't get me wrong, the Orphan Black series is wonderful, as is it's lead actress Tatiana Maslany and I highly recommend watching it...but this is a different show.) I first saw Maite Perroni, who plays the lead in Triada (Triptych), in the Mexican series Oscuro Deseo (Dark Desire) where she plays a lawyer in a dark or erotic thriller and I thought she was fantastic...so, when my husband and I were looking for something to watch on Cinco de Mayo, I suggested this-her new series and we were not sorry.
This is a fairly short series at just eight episodes that tell a complete story. The series begins with a crazed woman entering a high rise office building, injuring employees in the process, only to confront her therapist in her office and take her out onto the roof at gunpoint. Meanwhile the police surround the building and the woman is shot down by a police sniper on a neighboring building. Then we follow a forensic scientist into the building and up to the crime scene, only for her to bend over the body and discover that the woman looks identical to her...then the woman who was thought to be dead, reaches up to grab her and calls her by her first name...Beth.
This sends Beth on an interesting journey to discover that she has been lied to her whole life, she was obtained in a black market adoption, her parents aren't really her parents...in fact she is not an only child, she is just one of a set of triplets! A Fascinating and mysterious story unfolds and the people in her life are not who she thought they were.
This is loosely based on a true story which makes it even more fascinating. I loved all the strong female characters in this series...and it was really interesting to see who the villain really was when the story finally unfolds. They do an excellent job building the tension and keeping you speculating, especially about everyone's motives and theories. Who do you trust?...always a tough question for women and really highlighted in this series.
The sets are great, the acting wonderful and the story gripping. I highly recommend this Mexican series...to both thriller and mystery fans. I loved how at one point they offer up a cloning theory, great hat tilt to Orphan Black. Maite Perroni has really become one of my favorite actresses to watch.

So reading the synopsis, it kind of made me think that this series might be modelled on the male triplets in the states that were born in 1961, separated through an adoption agency and not until a chance meeting at a college, two of the three were eventually reunited, leading to joining the third male.
So Becca a forensics expert whilst attending a crime scene comes across her identical self, the storyline is far more complex than I anticipated, but it made it in some parts very entertaining.
The individual characters played by Maite Perroni were well performed and really gave you an excellent perception of each role has they went through each episode.
However, although the story is complex and has it moves on you get to understand how the lives of Becca, Tamara and Aleida came to be how they are, the scriptwriters must have felt that viewers may find this all a little dull, so throw in a sex scene or two along the way.
Humberto, Becca's colleague, the stud, as you find out later in the series, has the moral compass and stature of a borderline perverse male model, talk about taking advantage, again later in the series all is revealed.
5/10 good storyline overall, not easy to watch at times.

Inspired by true events?? Ha the only thing that's true is that three triplets fortuitously met some years later - three men. See the movie "Three Identical Strangers"
For me,Tryptich was a waste of time. Poorly written, poorly acted, and unnecessarily long sex scenes. Apart from Matie Perroni being pleasing to the eye - the only reason l gave this movie any stars at all (but an unconvincing actor especially in the sex scenes),
the rest was too stretched for reality.
I always find it amusing how movie shorts get away with stating that it's based on true events when the only true or actual event might only be the tiniest snippet.
I must say though, the dubbing in these non-english movies probably don't do the movie proper justice.

It started out intriguing, but the show overall started to get to me after the first two episodes. It just did not hold my interest that much. So, I speed watched a bit and then jumped to the last episode after the end of episode 2. The plot to me is just a bit too unbelievable and I would have to say silly. It is almost like a science fiction story that started out as a drama. I could not figure it out and after a but I decided enough was enough and that is when I jumped to the conclusion, aka last episode. The story is a "who did it" and then tries to get you to think about who the real bad guy is. But after a bit you just do not care.

Watch Orphan Black instead. This is a poor copy in every way, poor script, poor acting, poor through line. It's got no heart at all. The only upside is that you can watch it and nap very easily- you aren't going to miss anything and there won't be any difficulty "catching up" as the character development is all but nonexistent. This would possibly have made a decent soft core porn, but it lags in spots that would definitely need to be edited down to keep the viewers interested enough to stick around for the occasional sex scene. Don't waste your time on this one, you literally can do better. Peace.

I wanted to like but there were so many issues at the very beginning (how many shots are in the gun, the farce of the action on the roof, the hospital scene, etc) that I had problems buying into it.
Maite Perroni IS the movie and she does a good job of making the 3 characters stand out, but then why do they immediately recognize each other? Most of the other acting was decent though but all the character were cliches, especially the relationship be the forensic officer and her boss. The story dragged at times but left you feeling like explanations were cut. You were never sure if something is a dream.
I did the first two episodes and dropped it.

Overall, it's a B series thriller. The dialogue and the acting were poor though the lead actress did make a good attempt at a technicality difficult project which was probably over-ambitious considering the lack of talent in the supporting acting and script writing.
The story had some merit at the start with some clever misdirection but the mystery became repetitive and the final explanation was mundane and unbelievable.
The comic book villains and their henchmen were laughably pathetic. I found it tiresome to watch. It might have been better as a film or 4 episode series. (Maybe 40 years ago.)
