Deep Fake Neighbour Wars

It's fascinating the length of technology nowadays. I think that deep fake concept could be used for fun, and in real life is getting scary.

I'm going to focus on the incredible amount of money and effort that obviously went into this project. Other than Ariana Grande being kind of bad in every sense, the rest is absurd and funny. Not in a "lol" kind of funny, but in the "beginning of a sitcom" kind of funny.

I see a lot of potential for this show, but i think they should be more daring... After all, you have every star in the world to participate. Kim's ass is huge...and there's no mention of it.

It should be a little more cheeky... Right?.

Deeply unethical, stealing someone's identity for any means should be illegal, even more so when using for capital gain.

The only time it should be OK is when the original person agrees to it, never mind the rabbit hole of family members permitting the use of a dead persons likeness. I hope any of these celebrities sue ITV for this trash.

Even with clear messaging that this is a fake, the clips can easily be cropped and taking out of context and mistaken for real.

ITV yet again pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable on TV, have they gone too far this time ? I hope so but I don't hold my breath as they made this after the disgusting deepfake of the queen (itv or maybe channel 4). That should be been the warning but here we are.

First things first. The technology is amazing, sinister bang up to date , whatever you want to describe it as . Where it goes horrendously wrong for this series is after the wonderment of this modern magic fades . The scripts and humour are awful , it's not so much a new slant on the neighbours from hell genre , more a heavily scripted attempt at a contrived humorous version and that's where it fails badly . The attraction of the dodgy neighbours genre is that it's real people and real situations . The spontaneous reactions and behaviour. The cringeworthy " that's just like" or " what an idiot , I'll bet so and so could be like that" . This series lacks that 100% because it's played and presented like a bad z list movie with a poor plot , it's like a short set piece within a bigger comedy show you sit through to get to the good stuff only they've decided to make a full show of. It's awful.

Whoever came up with this presumably thought they were on to a winner. Wrong. It is terrible. Deep Fake is just unfunny. They seem to have spent their money on creating the Deep Fake and nothing else.

The scripts for the sketches are so ridiculous and inane they don't even raise a giggle.

The 'real' celebrities are made out to be completely uninteresting... although that may have been the point, it still fails.

There's plenty adult animation that puts shame to this. That's why celebrities line up to guest star!

This is neither parody or spoof. Nor comedy.

Deep Fake may probably find it's place in recreating (dead) actors etc, even that I doubt, but using it on the living is shameful and will not work.

Fans of the characters know the real person. Non fans don't care.

I gave it 2/10 because the concept was there. It was just executed terribly.

Rule #1.... make it funny.
