Ugh. Here's the full trailer for Marvel's new animated series Avengers Assemble, and it just looks like an all-around bad show. You can actually watch the first episode on iTunes for free by clicking here. I wasn't able to sit through the whole thing. I found it annoying. I'm not a big fan of the tone, dialogue, and poor animation. I'm not sure why they didn't use the same team that brought us Earth's Mightiest Heroes because that was a fun show. My kids even enjoyed watching it, but they didn't take to Avengers Assemble either. They lost interest faster than I did, so Marvel is obviously doing something wrong because it didn't hit with my little fan girls, and it didn't hit with me either.

I really enjoyed watching The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I like the story, animation and character designs for that show. As you know, Marvel and Disney cancelled that series and replaced it with another one called Avengers Assemble. This is our first look at footage from the series, and I've got to say I'm not impressed. I know the show is for kids; I'm just not a big fan of these character designs, the style, or animation. It looks cheap, but maybe that's what they're going for.

For years now, a feature film adaptation of the hot fantasy property ElfQuest has been floating around in limbo. Now, Variety reports that producers Stephanie Thorpe (Shelf Life) and Paula Rhodes (A Good Knight’s Quest) have secured the film rights to the cult fantasy comic book.
Created in 1978 by Wendy and Richard Pini, ElfQuest tells the story of Cutter, his tribe the Wolfriders, and their quest to find and unite the elves of the land against the threat of humans, trolls, and other creatures. The series has had a long comic book publication history, once upon a time with Marvel Comics, and more recently with DC Comics.
ElfQuest co-creator Wendy Pini commented on the acquisition:
With their deep love and understanding of the property, they represent a new direction for ElfQuest…new creative energy and new connections in the larger media.
Warner Bros. Pictures began working on a feature...

Get More: Geek: Event Coverage, Full Episodes There's a lot of ground covered in the interview above concerning MarvelTV, Mavel Anime and Marvel Knights but if you can't watch due to international viewing restrictions, the highlight of the interview is the confirmation of Blastaar, Annihilus and Ego The Living Planet as villains for Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. He also goes on to state that the Long awaited continuation of Captain America: White should be released around the same time as Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The voice cast includes: Adrian Pasdar ("Heroes") as Iron Man, Fred Tatasciore ("Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness") reprising his role as Hulk, Roger Craig Smith ("Wreck-It Ralph") as Captain America, Travis Willingham ("Shelf Life") as Thor, Troy Baker ("Ultimate Spider-Man") as Hawkeye, Laura Bailey ("The Super Hero Squad Show") as Black Widow and Bumper Robinson ("The Game") as Falcon.

I recently had the absolute pleasure to interview voice actors Tara Platt (Naruto) and Yuri Lowenthal (Ben 10) for their ongoing web series, Shelf Life. The hilarious series features Platt and Lowenthal, along with Travis Willingham and Bryan Enk/ Dee Bradley Baker, as four action figures confined to a little boy's shelf. When the kid isn't around, Hero Lass, Hero Man, Bug Boy and Samurai Snake get up to all sorts of hijinks that are definitely not intended to entertain children. Hero Lass develops a drug addiction, Hero Man and Bug Boy deal with varying masculinity complexes and the mysterious Samurai Snake may or may not be planning global domination. The series, currently in its third season, is kicking off a fundraising campaign to allow the characters to go "off the shelf" in their ambitious fourth season. Hit the jump for my extended interview with Platt and Lowenthal, where they talk Shelf Life,...
