According to the folks over at Deadline.com , NBC did officially renew their new hit comedy series Happy's Place for a brand new season 2. In fact, they gave it an early renewal way back in late February 2025. So, they were very pleased and confident with its performance. It hasn't been announced how many episodes season 2 will feature or when it's scheduled to premiere. We're guessing it will most likely premiere in the Fall of 2025 since it pretty much had a full season order in season 1. We imagine NBC will give it another big order for season 2. The very first, premiere episode for Happy's Place reportedly got well over 17.6 million viewers across all the viewing platforms. Deadline also mentioned that another one of NBC's new comedies St. Denis Medical was renewed for brand new season 2. So, if you're also a fan of it, that's double good news.

The following contains major spoilers from St. Denis Medical Season 1, Episode 14, "Listen to Your Ladybugs," which debuted Tuesday, March 11 on NBC.
St. Denis Medical Season 1, Episode 14, "Listen to Your Ladybugs" relies on the NBC sitcom's cast completely losing it. The humor in all three of the storylines revolves around a character being pushed to their breaking point. Luckily, the actors understand the assignment and are able to bring the laughs without making every situation feel like the end of the proverbial world. This is an example of taking heightened comedy situations and knowing just how far they can be pushed.
"Listen to Your Ladybugs" takes its title from the women's health initiative that Joyce tries to start at St. Denis. Like most of what Joyce thinks is a good idea, this winds up falling apart. If you're looking for a major shakeup at the 2025 Emmys, don't hold your breath for the comedy acting races to make waves. For the second year in a row, Hacks and The Bear are predicted to extend their streak of domination — led by Jean Smart and Jeremy Allen White, who are both undefeated for playing Deborah Vance and Carmen Berzatto, respectively.
The last time one of those two names wasn't called on Emmy night was in 2023, when Abbott Elementary's Quinta Brunson took home Best Comedy Actress during an off-season for Hacks. Last year, The Bear clawed its way to three of the four main acting prizes and swept both guest star categories (Jon Bernthal and Jamie Lee Curtis). Smart handed the FX series its only acting loss, snagging her third Emmy for Hacks over The Bear's Ayo Edebiri. Can anyone pull off an upset this year? Here's the state...

Tracy Morgan and Tina Fey are teaming up for a single-camera comedy pilot at NBC — and no, this story is not a reprint from the 2005-06 development season about 30 Rock.
Morgan is set to star in a show from writers Sam Means (30 Rock, Girls5Eva) and Robert Carlock (also a 30 Rock alum) in which he plays a disgraced former football player on a mission to rehabilitate his image. Fey, Carlock, Means and Morgan are all executive producing.
The project is the first formal pilot order NBC has handed out this season, though it has a handful of other shows in development.
The NBC pilot is the second show Morgan has committed to recently. He’s also starring in Crutch, a spinoff of CBS’ The Neighborhood that will run on Paramount+. Should the NBC pilot go to series, his deal will allow him to star in both shows.

NBC has given a pilot order to an untitled single-camera comedy headlined and executive produced by Tracy Morgan. It reunites the former 30 Rock star with the Emmy-winning series’ co-showrunners Tina Fey & Robert Carlock and writer Sam Means. All four also share Saturday Night Live background.
Written by Carlock and Means, the new comedy stars Morgan as a disgraced former football player who is on a mission to rehabilitate his image.
Carlock, Means and Morgan executive produce with Fey, Eric Gurian and David Miner. Rhys Thomas is director and executive producer on the pilot. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, where Fey, Carlock and Means are under overall deals, produces with Little Stranger, Bevel Gears and 3 Arts.
Morgan also stars in Paramount+’s upcoming comedy series Crutch, an offshoot from CBS’ The Neighborhood. If the NBC pilot goes to series and Crutch gets renewed, he will be able to do both shows.

The following contains major spoilers from St. Denis Medical Season 1, Episode 13, "Some Famous Internet Guy," which debuted Tuesday, Feb. 25 on NBC.
St. Denis Medical Season 1, Episode 13, "Some Famous Internet Guy" could have been the worst episode of the whole series. Instead, it lampoons all the reasons why it could've been terrible. Rather than turning into a half-hour built around a celebrity cameo, the episode makes fun of the idea of celebrity -- also focusing on the quirks and schemes of the hospital staff instead.
"Some Famous Internet Guy" refers to Colby Twill, a musician hugely popular with kids and Dr. Bruce Schweitz, who arrives at the hospital to perform for the pediatric ward. However, when Dr. Ron Leonard notices something concerning about Colby, that starts another sequence of odd events. In the end, though, the episode is actually very heartwarming.

Medical dramas will never go out of style, but 2025 might be the genre's peak on television. Fox's new hit series Doc, which premiered in early January, has been one of the most prominent highlights on the channel. The series follows a doctor who suffers from memory loss after a traumatic brain injury, which makes her subsequent return to her career a major challenge. It seems Fox has moved quickly to award the show's high ratings with a surprise renewal update that marks a major commitment by the network.
Fox has commissioned a 22-episode Season 2 for Doc, which is currently airing its 10-episode first season on the channel and streaming on Hulu. A rare full-season order for the network, Fox is very pleased with the ratings success Doc is having thus far, especially on streaming. There have been tons of medical shows to grace our television screens over the years. These series typically have many commonalities, including plots that focus on fascinating medical mysteries and lots of interpersonal drama between all the good-looking doctors and nurses. There's no shortage of intriguing storylines to cover when a show is set in a hospital. Whether the series is a drama (like The Resident) or a comedy (like St. Denis Medical), there tends to be at least one trope that these shows rely on. The arrogant doctor is always a mainstay, except when it comes to the new Max drama, The Pitt.

In a sit-down conversation with uInterview, actor Josh Lawson shared his favorite moments filming St. Denis Medical, a mockumentary sitcom that follows the overworked, underpaid nurses and doctors at an underfunded hospital. Lawson gave an overview of his character to uInterview founder Erik Meers. “Dr Bruce Schwartz is a trauma surgeon at St. Denis Medical, a regional hospital in Oregon,” Lawson said. “What can I say about Bruce? He’s a brilliant doctor – he’d be happy to tell you that himself. He has a robust ego, to say the very least. But yeah – I imagine he would be a difficult guy to work with, but he’s a wonderful guy to play.” Reflecting on how he most and least identified with his character, Lawson speculated, “I certainly don’t have the self-confidence that Bruce has, so I could probably borrow a little bit of that. There’s some great news for Happy’s Place fans. NBC has decided the future of the series, and it comes with renewal news!
If you wait until a confirmed renewal before you invest in a show, I get it. So many shows are canceled abruptly, and it’s hard to give a series a chance. The problem is if you don’t watch it from the beginning, you’re part of the reason why a show is canceled! A lot of people do this, and it leads to shows getting unfairly canceled.
The good news for Happy’s Place fans is people showed up! NBC has given this show a second season.

NBC will keep its tab open at Happy’s Place.
The network has renewed Happy’s Place, its multi-camera sitcom starring Reba McEntire, for a second season. The series joins fellow first-year comedy St. Denis Medical in NBC’s lineup for 2025-26.
The renewal doesn’t come as a big surprise: NBC gave the show a vote of confidence in November with an order for five additional episodes, bringing its total for the season to 18.
Happy’s Place has performed consistently well for the network in its Friday-night spot so far this season. It averages 3.38 million same-day viewers, a 54 percent improvement year to year, and adds about 1.3 million more with a week of delayed viewing (not including streaming). The following contains major spoilers for St. Denis Medical Season 1, Episode 12, "Buffalo Bruce and Matty the Kid," which debuted Tuesday, Feb. 18 on NBC.
St. Denis Medical Season 1, Episode 12, "Buffalo Bruce and Matty the Kid," will be remembered as the one with the plague cat. The NBC sitcom isn't quite as lovably strange as usual -- but this episode written by Mythic Quest alum Naomi Ekperigin still has some good laughs built into it. More interestingly, the subplot involving Serena's birthday gets surprisingly saccharine.
"Buffalo Bruce and Matty the Kid" focuses on Bruce and Matt being assigned to capture an emotional support cat that's running loose around the hospital. Like everything at St. Denis, this doesn't go according to plan, which is where most of the humor comes from. Yet the episode is a bit awkward when it delves into more emotional territory.
