We're the Millers was a big success when it came out in 2013. Naturally, New Line Cinema was interested in continuing the story and announced plans for a sequel in 2014, but the movie never happened.
Over a decade since the comedy came out in theaters, none of the actors have an encouraging update about the sequel. The comedy starred Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, Will Poulter, and Emma Roberts. In a new interview with People at the SXSW Film & TV Festival to promote his latest film, Death of a Unicorn, Poulter revealed he doesn't think We're the Millers 2 will ever happen.
Speaking about the 2013 film and whether a sequel was in development, the actor said, "Like We're Still the Millers? There was, I think."
However, Poulter continued, "I don't think it's gonna happen. I mean, no one else is [but] I’m too old now. But, yeah, it was a fun time.

Mark Wahlberg's career has been incredibly varied. On the one hand, he has worked with some highly influential directors in critically acclaimed films. His breakout role was playing Eddie / Dirk in Boogie Nights, an epic drama directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. This role earned him buzz, but it was not until a decade later that he received his first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for The Departed. Wahlberg also got a nomination for his producing work on The Fighter, which was nominated for Best Picture.
While these critically acclaimed films have been part of Wahlberg's career, he is also an actor capable of making a big box office hit. His top movie at the worldwide box office was Transformers: Age of Extinction, followed by Transformers: The Last Knight. Several other movies of Wahlberg's have made hundreds of millions of dollars, bringing his aggregate career gross to over $5 billion.

Ted Lasso Star’s Comedy Sequel With 36% Rotten Tomatoes Score Finds Streaming Success 11 Years Later
Ted Lasso is one of Apple TV+'s most successful shows to date. It won 13 Emmys across three seasons, and was nominated for several more that it did not win. Ted Lasso also received great reviews from both critics and audiences, getting fresh Rotten Tomatoes scores every season. The overall series holds a 90% Tomatometer from critics and an 85% score from audiences. Ted Lasso season 3 was considered the end by some series creators, but the show has still remained open for season 4.
Ted Lasso has an ensemble cast, but at the heart of it all is Jason Sudeikis, who won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series twice for the role. While the unskilled football coach has become his most celebrated role, the comedic actor had a career long before this. This has included roles in the film side of the industry, where Sudeikis has acted in movies such as We're the Millers,...

Sandra Bullock can easily be one of the most bankable actresses in Hollywood. She has an Academy Award by her side, perfectly solidifying her versatility as an actress. She has a string of well-acclaimed and commercially successful movies to her name. But in this list, Gravity directed by Alfonso Cuarón would definitely be her most successful movie.
Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in Gravity | Credits: Warner Bros.
Also featuring George Clooney alongside Bullock, the movie broke all records when it was released in 2013. And also swept the entire Oscars that year with back-to-back wins. While the movie created instant magic on the big screen, Cuarón had to deal with a lot of budget issues. And friendly advice by filmmaker James Cameron would have completely changed the movie as well as Bullock’s highest-paid actress status.

The comedic pairing of Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston has always led to hilarious moments, even if some of their collaborations were better than others. As two sitcom stars, Bateman will be known to viewers for his leading role in Arrested Development, while Anitson became a household name as Rachel Green on Friends. However, both have also carved out impressive movie careers and collaborated on five feature films over the past nearly two decades.
Like the best comedy duos, Bateman and Aniston have an innate chemistry that means they play off one another well and complement each other perfectly. Batemans deadpan and often reserved comedic style helped balance Anistons more energetic and lively comedic demeanor, leading to several fantastic comedy movies. While their fruitful collaboration has led to a lackluster sequel and a holiday comedy that left viewers wanting, Bateman and Aniston's best movies together were truly comedy gold.

If you’re like me, you spend a lot of August yelling “Summer is over!” to your nearest and dearest — and they don’t take kindly to that. Summer TV is in its twilight, while fall premieres loom on the horizon after the Emmy Awards on September 15.
But summer is not over, and there’s plenty of new titles to stream in the Disney bundle. Disney+ will premiere new Star Wars and “Winnie the Pooh” titles for kids, as well as the original series “Are You Sure?!” following BTS’s Jimin and Jung Kook. Hulu will become home to “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” “The Woman King,” “Smile,” and more movie titles, as well as the home for FX series — this month: “The New York Times Presents: Lie to Fly: Documentary Premiere.” Hulu originals “Solar Opposites” returns on August 12, and “Reasonable Doubt” for its second season starting August...

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg assert Superbad was a very personal project. Both share compelling reasons why the film is better off left as is.
Every generation has its definitive ranking of coming-of-age cult films like Rebel Without a Cause to Grease, The Breakfast Club, Clueless, and Mean Girls. It's an exhaustive list entirely dependent on individual preferences, but it's not surprising Superbad is a favorite of anyone into raunchy teen comedies of the 2000s. Writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg told Complex they did not expect Superbad to gain a cult following; they didn't even see the film as a modern classic (though many thought it set a benchmark for teen comedy). But like Pineapple Express, they consider Superbad a rare comedy that can only be ruined by a sequel.

Horrible Bosses 2 is now a hit on Netflix's U.S. Top 10 Movies chart despite poor reviews. It sits at #8 on the weekly Top 10 chart for the week of February 12-18. The release date may have impacted the sequel's performance at the box office, leading to questions about a potential franchise continuation.
Jason Bateman's negatively reviewed 2014 comedy sequel, Horrible Bosses 2, is now trending on Netflix's U.S. Top 10 Movies chart. The movie served as a follow-up to the 2011 hit Horrible Bosses and follows Nick (Bateman), Dale (Charlie Day), and Kurt (Jason Sudeikis), three men who finally broke free from their evil bosses and are now navigating starting a business together. However, when they find themselves at the mercy of a terrible investor, they once more form an outlandish plot to better their situation. While the sequel received poor reviews, it has since found new life on Netflix.

“Wonka” reigns again on the VOD charts, but the week’s real star is Amazon/MGM’s “American Fiction.” Driven by its five Oscar nominations and continued success at the box office, it reached #2 at Apple TV/iTunes on Saturday and is currently #4. Not bad for a racial satire that’s grossed $17 million to date.
It suggests the film will earn substantially more than its theatrical take, reflecting smart strategy: While Amazon makes movies for streaming, it recognizes (like Apple) the value of making VOD its first at-home platform. It’s also a good argument that the Netflix Mo of deemphasizing theatrical and skipping VOD misses opportunities to get awards and audience traction.
“Oppenheimer” (Universal) repeats as #2 on two charts, though its reduced price keeps it from making Vudu revenue-driven list. Christopher Nolan’s Oscar frontrunner has been the strongest film since its home-viewing debut three months ago, now sustained by Oscar nomination-leading total.

When audiences think of Chris Pine, his movie star image is that of a hero. Be it of a renegade maverick like James T. Kirk in the Star Trek films, the mischievous but kindhearted Jack Frost in Rise of the Guardians, or the noble embodiment of positive masculinity like Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman. He screams hero so much that he plays the most put-together Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Often, Pine's heroes are also ones that have a comedic side to them, and that is intentional. "I've always been attracted to characters who are basically buffoonish, that think of themselves more than they actually are and get shown that in some way. I love a banana peel moment," said Pine.
Pine is also known for having dipped his toe into playing villains. In 2014, he pulled double villain duties in Horrible Bosses 2 and as a scoundrel version...

Jason Sudeikis recalls a funny backhanded compliment Owen Wilson gave him while the pair were filming Sudeikis' first big studio movie as a leading man, Hall Pass. For Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves star Chris Pine, it all started with the story.
“I have to like the script,” Pine told The Hollywood Reporter Sunday evening at the film’s Los Angeles premiere about what made him say yes to his role as the lovable, lute-playing bard Edgin. “For me, it was the fact that [Dungeons & Dragons] felt earnest and heartfelt and grounded. It didn’t feel jaded or cynical or meta or postmodern. It just was big-budget, old fashioned moviemaking. The kind of feeling of The Princess Bride and Willow and The NeverEnding Story, and all the stuff that I watched as a kid.”
With a screenplay by Michael Gilio and director duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein — and story by Gilio and Chris McKay — Honor Among Thieves is rooted in comedy, unlike some of the darker, more serious fantasy films in recent years. The...

Chris Pine is not who you think he is. Sure, he’s the handsome, blue-eyed actor famous for roles combining action, intensity, and charm in Star Trek, Wonder Woman, and Into the Woods. But beneath the movie star is a man who grew up with deep insecurities. He loves his job and talking cinema but doesn’t enjoy talking about himself and would rather be drinking coffee and reading than being interviewed.
It is Valentine’s Day morning when we speak via Zoom, just a few days shy of the 20th anniversary of the E.R. episode “A Thousand Cranes,” Pine’s 2003 onscreen debut where he played a guy who got drunk—at a blow-out Valentine’s party. The publicity machine is revving up for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, his action-adventure vehicle based on the tabletop fantasy game, but he’s also thinking of his directorial debut Poolman,...

It’s the end of the world as we know it and HBO Max feels fine. The Warner Bros. Discovery streamer’s list of new releases for January 2023 is highlighted by one long-awaited post-apocalyptic adventure.
HBO’s TV adaptation of beloved video game The Last of Us premieres on Jan. 15. Created by Chernobyl writer Craig Mazin, this story will follow the game storyline of Joel (Pedro Pascal) guiding 14-year-old Ellie (Bella Ramsey) through a virus-ridden wasteland towards hope. It’s probably gonna be awesome.
The other big original series this month is animated mystery comedy Velma. Brought to life by Mindy Kaling, this show will be all about Scooby-Doo’s bespectacled buddy Velma Dinkley. Jinkies indeed!
There aren’t any major HBO Max original movie releases this January. The first of the month sees the arrival of Ghostbusters (1984), Hereditary, John Wick, and more. Recent theatrical release The Menu premieres on Jan.

Warning: This post contains spoilers for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio
Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio may not have too much in common with Disney’s live-action version, but both films have a great voice cast playing the characters. Del Toro’s Pinocchio is a stop-motion animation that delves deep into the titular character’s adventures, but the story wouldn’t be complete without a vibrant voice cast to bring all the characters to life.
Directed by del Toro and Mark Gustafson from a screenplay the former co-wrote with Patrick McHale, the stop-motion Pinocchio is based on the 1883 novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Italian author Carlo Collodi. The filmmakers have assembled a notable cast to embody the animated characters. While some of the actors’ voices are recognizable, there are others who will surprise. Kevin Spacey has booked his latest film project just weeks after winning a sexual battery lawsuit in the U.S., an individual with knowledge of the casting told TheWrap on Monday.
The two-time Oscar winner will voice a mysterious and murderous antagonist who takes control of a self-driving car, akin to Kiefer Sutherland’s vocal performance in Joel Schumacher’s “Phone Booth.”
The film, entitled “Control” and written and directed by Gene Falliaze, is about a British government minister, Stella Simmons (Lauren Metcalf), who has an affair with the Prime Minister (Mark Hampton). One night, Simmons heads home in her self-driving car to find the vehicle remotely hijacked by someone who knows her secret and wants to punish her.
Shooting will take place early next year at Camberwell Studios and on location in London, while Spacey will wrap his purely voice-over role this week. The actor recently won a 40 million...

Filmmaker Sean Anders has long wanted to make a musical, so when he and his filmmaking partner John Morris were talking aimlessly about how the ghosts are the real protagonists of “A Christmas Carol,” they wondered if this riff on the Charles Dickens classic – telling the story from the point of view of the ghosts, not the haunted individual – might finally be a fit for the genre.
But with “Spirited” (which is currently streaming on Apple TV+), Anders added another twist to the story: what if the ghosts’ haunt was treated like a film production, and he embraced the theatricality of the staging and prep work needed to prepare a haunt by incorporating it into the movie?
“When we first started talking about it, you can’t just go in and haunt somebody. There has to be some forethought,” the “Instant Family” and “Horrible Bosses 2” director told TheWrap in a recent interview.

"There is where real change begins!" Oh does it? Ha ha ha. Apple has debuted their full official trailer for Spirited, arriving later in November just before the holiday season kicks off. Spirited is a musical version of Charles Dickens' story of the miserly misanthrope who is taken on a magical journey - from the director of Horrible Bosses 2, Daddy's Home 1 & 2, and Instant Family. This one has a twist – Clint Briggs turns the tables on his ghostly host until "Present" finds himself reexamining his own past, present, future. For the first time, A Christmas Carol is told from the perspective of the ghosts in this hilarious musical twist on the classic Dickens tale. Ryan Reynolds stars as Scrooge, with Will Ferrell as "Present", plus Joe Tippett, Octavia Spencer, Aimee Carrero, Marlow Barkley, Jen Tullock, Sunita Mani, and P.J. Byrne. With songs written by the La La Land writers, and choreography by Chloe Arnold.

Exclusive: Ted Lasso writer-actor Keeley Hazell’s memoir Everyone’s Seen My Tits has landed at Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette, in a competitive situation.
Everyone’s Seen My Tits chronicles Keeley’s experiences and struggles being a young woman growing up in a working class, poor family on a council estate (the ‘projects’), to becoming an object of male desire as one of the UK’s most successful Page 3 and glamour models of all time. The book explores class, feminism, fame, abuse, sexual violence, and what it means to be a woman.
Hazell, a writer and actor on Apple’s Emmy-winning Ted Lasso, began her career as a model, working with magazines such as FHM, Loaded, Nuts and Zoo Weekly, before transitioning to writing and acting. She is the inspiration behind the Ted Lasso character Keeley Jones, played by Juno Temple, who, like Hazell, is a model.

Sam Richardson’s profile has risen in recent years through roles such as eager aide Richard Splett on “Veep,” as well as the star and co-creator (with Tim Robinson) of cult hit “Detroiters” and even via the woefully under appreciated series “Champaign Ill,” which he top lined with Adam Pally.
But it’s Apple TV+’s “The Afterparty” that has cemented Richardson as not only a star — but also a romantic lead, opposite Zoë Chao.
That’s why Richardson’s Emmy nomination this year is extra sweet. As he and Chao film Season 2 of “The Afterparty,” Richardson… wait a minute. Sorry. Correction: “The Afterparty” should have been Emmy-nominated.
But instead, Richardson is an Emmy nominee for an entirely different standout role: comedy guest actor on a different Apple TV+ show, playing Ghanaian billionaire Edwin Akufo in Season 2 of “Ted Lasso.”
It’s big moment for Richardson as he celebrates his first Emmy nomination.

With its list of new releases for July 2022, HBO Max is stepping up its TV game. Not that any entity associated with “It’s Not TV, It’s HBO” would ever not bring the televised goods, but the small screen is of particular consequence this month.
The middle of July is jam-packed with TV goodies like docuseries The Anarchists (July 10), rescued animated project Tuca & Bertie season 3 (July 11), and the latest Nathan Fielder creation The Rehearsal (July 15). The real heavy hitter arrives later on though. Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin premieres on July 28 and will introduce the next generation of the Pll franchise. It doesn’t have a release date yet but July will also host season 3 of the delightful Harley Quinn at some point.
HBO Max’s movie offerings aren’t as deep this month. The Bob’s Burgers Movie (July 12) and We Met In Virtual Reality (July 27) are really the only originals of note.

It seems that critical acclaim isn't the only good thing to come out of Ted Lasso for star Jason Sudeikis. On June 27, Jason continued to spark romance rumors when he was spotted in New York City with his arms around costar Keeley Hazell, who plays Bex, the girlfriend of Anthony Head's Rupert Mannion, in photos obtained by People. While this is the first time the couple have been seen publicly together, they were first linked back in February. "He's enjoying spending time with her, but its casual for now," a source told E! News at the time. "They have known each other for a while and have always been friendly. It's been nice for him while he's in London to have someone to spend time with. He's not looking for anything serious."

The mid-’00s were a time when R-rated comedies made a huge comeback. One could argue American Pie was the beginning in 1999, but the genre didn’t really find its stride until the middle of the decade. While Judd Apatow is largely responsible for this resurgence thanks to films like The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up and Superbad, Wedding Crashers (which Apatow had nothing to do with) was actually more successful than all of them. It even made more money domestically than Batman Begins in 2005.
15 years later, one wonders why Wedding Crashers 2 was never made to capitalize on that success. Well, according to director David Dobkin, such conversations have been going on for the better part of a decade.
“Everybody keeps hitting me up about a Wedding Crashers sequel. We don’t have a script that we’re there with yet. For many, many years every year I got offered to do the sequel,...

Star Trek actor Chris Pine will next play one of the most well-known real-life TV anchors of all time, as the actor will portray Walter Cronkite in upcoming biopic Newsflash. Previously, Seth Rogen was attached to play the role when David Gordon Green was on board to direct. However, after Green left the project to helm last year's Halloween sequel, Rogen would ultimately depart as well.
Written by Ben Jacoby, the project has no new director officially signed on as of this writing, though that decision will likely be made soon if casting is under way. Greg Silverman is also reportedly producing under his Stampede banner along with Adam Kolbrenner.
While Walter Cronkite will serve as the primary character, Newsflash will specifically focus on the events of Nov. 22, 1963. American historians will recognize that date as the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Such a monumental event...

Warner Bros. has bought the RatPac-Dune Entertainment library, consisting of 15% to 25% stakes in each of 76 films that the RatPac co-financed, including 2017’s “Wonder Woman” and 2013 Oscar winner “Gravity.”
The library was generated by RatPac with the studio through a five-year slate deal. Other notable titles included in the deal include “It,” “Batman V Superman,” “The Lego Movie,” “American Sniper,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Justice League” and “Dunkirk.”
Warner Bros. confirmed that the price tag was about $300 million. Vine Alternative Investment had recently reached a tentative deal for the library assets but Warner Bros. subsequently exercised its right to match the bid and closed the deal.
RatPac Entertainment was founded by Brett Ratner and billionaire James Packer in 2012. RatPac-Dune Entertainment was formed in 2013 as a production company-financier with a 75-title co-financing arrangement with Warner Bros. In 2017, RatPac became part of Len Blavatnik’s Access Entertainment, which bought Packer’s ownership share.

A federal grand jury in L.A. on Wednesday (Dec. 12) indicted five men, identified as residing in the U.K., India, Dubai and Malaysia, on seven criminal charges each for conduct alleged to span early 2013 to the spring of 2015.
U.S. investigators said the defendants allegedly stole or illegally copied copies of movies and TV shows including: “Fifty Shades of Grey” (pictured above), “The Expendables 3,” “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” “Godzilla,” “How to Train Your Dragon 2,” “Horrible Bosses 2,” “The Walking Dead,” “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” They then offered to sell purloined titles prior to their official release or the same day as their U.

"Keep in mind folks - it is not going to be easy..." Paramount Pictures UK has released a new international trailer for the upcoming holiday comedy Instant Family, the latest movie by Sean Anders. Instant Family is inspired by the real events from the life of writer/director Sean Anders, telling the story of a couple that find themselves in over their heads when they adopt three children. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Rose Byrne, Octavia Spencer, Tig Notaro, Isabela Moner, plus Margo Martindale. This really looks so bad, so bad, and so cliche, and painfully unfunny. I would much rather see a movie where they adopt kittens, not kids, than this crap. But that's me. Here's the new international trailer (+ poster) for Sean Anders' Instant Family, direct from YouTube: When Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) decide to start a family, they stumble into the world of foster ...
