If u ask first part or second part ....i will tell first part...its unique....more thriller or good action ...but this also a good movie...who like first want and ewant to see the charactee once more in screen...with a new usa character cool...watch it and worth...not a thriller or crucial like first part....its enjoyable movie....some comdey scene work well possesiveness...but the topic or mainscenaario is okayish....dont expect the movie like first part ...this movie for people who like the characters misses them...wat to see the characters back on the screen...enjoying bond brother hood between them.
Six years on from the success of the first buddy-buddy cop movie we get this follow-up, which expands the action to an international level. I felt that, on the whole, this film has the edge to its predecessor. The two main characters are back and their camaraderie feels more effortless, more natural here, and it helps that Hyun Bin's character comes across as less abrasive and more likeable too. There's a new American character who's okay, plus some returning others. You can tell that this is a bigger budget production because the action is more frequent and more explosive, while the choreography continues to impress. A slight but fun comedic thriller.
This was the type of movie I was extremely looking forward to. I really enjoyed watching the first Confidential Assignment so I was really excited for this one as well. The entire cast did an amazing job playing their characters. The chemistry between Hyun Bin, Yoo Hae Jin, and Daniel Henney was really good with their comedic acting. I was finally happy they gave Im Yoon Ah a bigger role compared to when she was in the first one because in the first one, she wasn't in it for very long and it was one her first time acting in a movie. The villain Jin Sun Kyu played was spot on and this guy showed people that he can play any type of characters. The movie was fun to watch, the action scenes were coordinated good, but I did feel like this movie focused too much on the comedy. There were some comedies that felt a bit forced and childish. Despite the forced comedies, if you want to see some buddy cop comedy action film, this movie is one of the ones to watch.
I enjoyed the pace and comic tone of this comic action movie. Hyun Bin plays it mostly serious so it's good that we have Daniel Henney with his bilingual dialogue and Yoona's sweet crushes to provide some effective comic relief. The story is quite easy to follow too not convoluted and has a little international elements with 3 countries trying to catch the bad guy. The action sequences on high rise buildings and shoot outs from NYC to Seoul are all quite well choreographed and fresh enough. You might think you have seen enough Hollywood action scenes but the ones here are high standard. Everyone looks nice and slim compared to Hollywood and it's steroid pumped up looking heroes. A refreshing change.
The "Confidential Assignment" series is honestly one of my favorite Korean film franchises. I really hope they continue adding more installments to it. The blend of action and comedy is spot on-it had me laughing out loud while still delivering thrilling, high-quality action scenes that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Both parts of the series had engaging, well-crafted stories. One thing I've come to appreciate deeply about Korean cinema is how strong and emotionally resonant their storytelling is. The plots aren't just entertaining-they're smart, layered, and often full of unexpected twists.
And I have to say, one of the standout elements for me is the character Jin-tae, the South Korean detective. His humor, timing, and personality brought so much life to the films. He's truly the heart and soul of the series for me. If there are future sequels, I really hope they bring him back-he adds that perfect balance of comedy and charm that makes the whole movie even more enjoyable.
