Exclusive: Halle Stanford, The Jim Henson Company’s longtime President of Television, is relaunching her company, 7 Crow Stories, as she embarks on a new chapter in her career as an independent producer and writer. As part of this new venture, the Emmy winner has signed a first-look producing deal with The Jim Henson Company, where she has worked as a producer and executive for the past 30 years.

Under her 7 Crow Stories banner, Stanford will develop a variety of live-action and animated projects for The Jim Henson Company for preschool, family, and primetime audiences, continuing to prioritize entertaining, impactful, and imaginative content across a wide range of genres. Previously announced projects include the primetime fantasy series Goblins with Norman Reedus, the primetime animated series Lore Olympus, based on Webtoon’s digital comic series, and the older kids’ animated series Adrenaline Lemmings. Currently, Stanford is also attached to develop a future production of Fraggle Rock.

Apple TV+ today released the trailer for the all-new, highly anticipated Peanuts special “Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin,” premiering globally on Friday, February 16.

The 2023 Children’s & Family Emmy Awards were handed out on Sunday night in a ceremony hosted by Christopher Jackson (Hamilton, And Just Like That…) at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.

Sesame Street and The Muppets Mayhem took home top honors for Outstanding Preschool Series and Outstanding Children’s or Family Viewing Series, respectively. Meanwhile, Apple TV+’s The Crossover walked away with a win for Outstanding Young Teen Series.

Prime's Merry Little Batman explores a heartwarming and comedic take on Bruce and Damian Wayne's father-son relationship in a crime-free Gotham. Disney racked up 93 nominations for the second annual Children’s and Family Emmys over their different networks, including Disney+ and Disney Junior.

Netflix followed with 61 nominations and Nickelodeon with 30, with AppleTV+ proving itself to be a rising player with 27 total nods.

“We are very proud of the growth experienced in year two of the Children’s and Family Emmys, especially in the development and cultivation of the new categories dedicated to puppetry,” said Rachel Schwartz, director of Daytime and Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, in a statement.

Among the notable actors who received nominations for acting categories included “The Santa Clauses” stars Tim Allen and Kal Penn, “National Treasure: Edge of History” player Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gina Rodriguez for Netflix’s “Lost Ollie,” and various voice performances were recognized for Hollywood vets such as Laurence Fishburne, Jack Black, Tom Kenny and Rob Paulsen.

Details for the ceremony are slated to drop sometime next week.

The nominees for the second annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards are out, and a lot of familiar faces are among the honorees.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced on Thursday the nominees for the second annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards.

Disney led the nominees with an overwhelming 93 nods, which included programming across Disney+, Disney Channel and Disney Junior. There’s no date yet for this year’s Chidren’s & Family Emmys — NATAS is likely waiting for a hopeful soon resolution to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike before firming up dates. But last year, winners were announced during two ceremonies—one focused on creative and technical arts, and the other to performances and programming—at Wilshire Ebell Theatre on December 10 and 11. This year’s Cafe will likely be held around the same time — and NATAS could very well use that timeframe to simultaneously finally hold the Daytime Emmys as well.

Jason Ritter has been tapped to star alongside Kathy Bates in CBS’ drama pilot for “Matlock,” a reboot of the classic television series.

Ritter’s casting rounds out the ensemble for the pilot, which features Bates as Madeline Matlock, Skye P. Marshall as Olympia, David Del Rio as Billy and Leah Lewis as Sarah.

The CBS Studios series centers on the brilliant septuagenarian Matlock (Kathy Bates), who rejoins the work force at a prestigious law firm and uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases and expose corruption from the inside. “Matlock” is executive produced by Jennie Snyder Urman, Joanna Klein, Eric Christian Olsen and John Will. Bates also serves as executive producer alongside Kat Coiro, who is set to direct the pilot.

Jason Ritter, the son of the late actor John Ritter, who voices Fox’s dad, recently chatted with uInterview founder Erik Meers about what it was like being able to watch Slumberkins with his daughter.

Jimmy Kimmel is a man of his word. Next week’s guest lineup forJimmy Kimmel Live! has been released and, true to his promise, Ariel Elias is set for Monday.

You may remember that Elias is the comedian who had a full beer thrown at her onstage by the husband of a belligerent heckler. It was Elias’ reaction that made video of the moment go viral: She picked up the beer and defiantly chugged it.

When Kimmel lauded her “gutsy performance” on Twitter, Elias made another gutsy move and asked Kimmel if she could make her “late night debut” on his show. The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host replied, “definitely.” And now he’s made good on that promise.

Elias will appear with Josh Gad and Pamela Adlon (Slumberkins). She’s listed as a guest, so it’s unclear if she’ll be performing, being interviewed or both.
