Dewayne Perkins continues to make his mark on Hollywood.
A jack of all trades, Perkins is a comedian, actor, writer, and producer with an impressive and diverse resume that’s only getting longer.
Fresh off the success of The Blackening, one of the freshest and most successful horror-comedy films of the last decade, which Perkins co-wrote and starred in, the rising star is trading in the big screen for an Apple TV+ production filled to the brim with Hollywood royalty.
(Dalvin Adams)
The new series, headlined by Seth Rogen, is a comedy set in Hollywood at a major studio.
Perkins stars alongside Rogen and many others to bring the story to life, and it’s a highly relevant story, given the forever-changing nature of the business.

The opening scenes of Law & Order: Svu Season 26 Episode 16 showed Benson visiting her mother’s grave for the first time since Serena Benson’s death in season 3.
Serena died off-screen so long ago that there could be a whole new generation of Law & Order: Svu fans who don’t know the backstory — or that she appeared on Law & Order: Svu’s pilot episode in 1999.
The graveside scene was effective, but it also convinced me further of one thing: the series should never have killed Serena off in the first place, especially considering that they did it off-screen.

Let’s get something straight.
Shifting Gears may be Tim Allen’s latest comedic vehicle (see what I did there?), but it is nothing like Home Improvement, nor was it ever intended to be.
I hated Home Improvement so much that I rarely stayed in the same room if it was on, and I love this show. And no, it’s not because I’m a Tim Allen superfan, either.
(Disney/Raymond Liu) Shifting Gears Isn’t A Reboot Just Because It Stars Tim Allen
I didn’t know much about Tim Allen beyond the fact that he was in my least favorite sitcom ever and that he’s outspoken about political beliefs I don’t share.
I never watched Last Man Standing and found Home Improvement irritating.

Was anyone expecting that cliffhanger?
Before we discuss that, let’s discuss how Denise Glenn and her theories on apprenticeship pushed Oliver and Bex closer together on The Hunting Party Season 1 Episode 8.
She thought she was the master and deserved to be remembered for all her theories on tragic art. She had the most massive ego, but that was the way to make her crack.

We also have to discuss that Shane reveal and who’s behind the Silo 12 breach. Lots of secrets were revealed.

The penultimate hour of Rescue: Hi-Surf turned out to be a rather sad event overall, leading you to wonder how things will ultimately play out for the finale.
Everyone was doing their own thing in certain ways, as there was no big rescue bringing everyone together, but there was a lot of learning going on. That’s the best way to describe the events, honestly.
Everyone learned something during Rescue: Hi-Surf Season 1 Episode 18, but what will it all amount to moving forward? Well, that’s anyone’s guess.

This week’s most captivating storyline was about Kainalu and, by extension, Hina, as we Finally saw Hina express her feelings for the man who has slowly wormed his way into her heart all season long.

Jimmy is drawing a sketch from Parker’s description of someone. It’s quite an emotional description. Jimmy is happy to help crack the case, but Parker says it’s not case-related.
He’s having Jimmy draw an old friend. The drawing is of a little girl in pigtails. Jimmy nailed it, and Parker sees a vision of the girl behind Jimmy, wearing a dress and yellow sweater.
(Sonja Flemming/CBS )
Nick rides up on his motorcycle. Sawyer worried about scratches on his nearby vehicle. He’s part of the night crew. He’s a little arrogant. He gets the most out of his paychecks, which is why he has a large truck, and Nick doesn’t.
McGee laughs. Good old Sawyer, huh? Last week, he learned Sawyer...

Do you ever feel like you have had your head in the sand and missed something really significant from previous episodes?
Well, that’s where I am after NCIS Season 22 Episode 15, where Parker revisits his past visions of Lily, his father pays a visit, and we have fun with NCIS Agent Dale Sawyer, Nick’s perfect nemesis.
So much time comes and goes between these things that I tend to forget they ever happened.

I’ve been nitpicky about NCIS lately because it’s generally so shallow. The cases are the most important part of the series, and while that’s Ok, I think it does the characters a disservice.

Very few series can introduce an entirely new subset of characters — or ones we’ve barely met — so late in the season and still leave us as thrilled as when the Avengers assembled in Endgame.
Naturally, The Pitt pulls it off, as it does everything else. This series is an unstoppable force, a masterclass in delivering on every front.
Somehow, The Pitt crafts characters you instantly connect with, even as they navigate the most high-stakes, nerve-wracking situations.

Sure, Santos is polarizing, and Langdon benefits from “pretty privilege” while making questionable choices. But overall, The Pitt is a showcase of complex, compelling characters trying to survive the most nerve-wracking situations ever.
Goodness, it’s only been One Shift.
Noah Wyle cemented his Emmy-worthiness the second he opened his mouth in the first episode. Seriously, give that man All the Emmys.

It’s another Monday night of TV, and there’s plenty to watch across the board. Here’s a look at everything on network TV tonight, Monday, March 24.
Tonight sees the return of the Monday night lineup on CBS. It will also see the finale of The Bachelor on ABC. So, where do you start with your TV viewing, because we can’t possibly watch it all live, right?
4 shows to watch live and 2 to skip until tomorrow
With so much on, it’s hard to choose what to watch live and what to skip. After all, we need to record some shows or wait until they go to streaming the following day. At least with technology at our fingertips, this is easier than it used to be.
While The Bachelor finale is on, I would say this is one to skip tonight. There’s just so many other shows airing tonight,...

NBC is making a scheduling change, taking new drama Grosse Pointe Garden Society out of its Sunday 10 Pm slot and putting it at 8 Pm Fridays, beginning April 4. The decision comes three episodes into Grosse Pointe‘s run.
The swiftness of NBC’s action is understandable as Grosse Pointe has been drawing very low linear ratings, with the series sitting at the bottom of all of the network’s series in both total audience and adults 18-49, averaging just over a million viewers in Live+ Same Day the last two weeks.
While a move to the low-trafficked Friday night for a new broadcast series would’ve meant a certain death back in the day, the rules are different in the streaming age.
With its serialized mystery-themed storytelling, Grosse Pointe, from the Good Girls duo of Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, was always considered better suited for streaming. As Deadline reported last year,...

“Grosse Pointe Garden Society” is on the move.
NBC is moving the drama series from its current Sunday night timeslot to Fridays at 8 p.m. Et/Pt beginning April 4. “Dateline NBC” will take over the Sunday 10 p.m. slot.
The move does not bode well for the future of “Grosse Pointe,” as a move to Fridays midway through a freshman season typically indicates a show is destined for cancellation. NBC has been successfully programming comedies on Friday nights of late, however, with the Reba McEntire multi-cam “Happy’s Place” recently earning a Season 2 renewal. The season finale of that show is set to air on March 21.
Still, despite relatively solid reviews, “Grosse Pointe” has failed to make a major impact in the broadcast ratings. Per NBC, the pilot has grown to a 1.21 rating in the adults 18-49 demo and 6.6 million total viewers across all platforms since it originally debuted on Feb.

A lot is happening on Rescue: Hi-Surf any given episode.
There are rescues, obviously, but we’re also seeing the personal journeys of the North Shore lifeguards as they battle rebellious teens, try to grow up, and encounter romantic challenges at every turn.
Hina and Kainalu began the series as rivals, but their short-lived rivalry gave way to a friendship and their roommate era, which is slowly ending just as their romantic journey should be ready to begin.
(Zach Dougan/Fox)
If you’ve been watching television long enough, you know the benefits and drawbacks of the will-they/won’t-they trope.
For many couples, the period in which they stay in the state of limbo about their romance can be some of the best material you’ll ever get.
The longing and the uncertainty make for captivating drama, as internal battles and often outside forces keep a couple apart.

[Warning: The following post contains Major spoilers for The Hunting Party Season 1 Episode 7 “Mark Marsden.”] What exactly was happening in Silo 12?! The latest episode of The Hunting Party saw Bex (Melissa Roxburgh), Oliver (Nick Wechsler), and Hassani (Patrick Sabongui) investigate the silo that was breached before the blast at the Pit. There, they find the aftermath of a massacre (bodies were removed), with blood stains all over a board room of sorts — with a window into a room where the inmates appear to have been taken to be experimented on for others to witness. Meanwhile, Shane (Josh McKenzie) has been pretending to be the son of a Pit scientist, Dr. Dulles (Matt Frewer), to visit him at a senior living facility, only for his real daughter to enter the picture. Below, showrunner Jake Coburn unpacks the Silo 12 mystery and teases how the season ends. Oliver says that he got a call of a breach at Silo 12 before the blast.

Was that the most surprising case of the season?
If they wanted to combine emotions with twists and turns, The Hunting Party Season 1 Episode 7 delivered with a twist on the Ted Bundy case. This was an entertaining one!
We also have to discuss the Silo 12 mystery and Shane’s family drama.

The Hunting Party has featured some weird serial killers, but Mark Marsden, The Widower, was the most complex.

I love a great crime drama. They’re riveting, make you ask questions, and prod at things like flawed infrastructures.
So many crime dramas approach angles of the show from the point of view of a grizzled, jaded law enforcement officer determined to expose or take down something.
Sometimes, we view things from the “bad guy” perspective to explore the complexities of the human psyche, motivations, and how or why someone did what they did.
(Courtesy of Netflix) Adolescence Supports the Argument That British Crime Dramas Are Top-Tier
Most crime dramas love to focus on the “Who did it?” aspect of the investigation. As viewers, we’re thrust into a mystery where we’re trying to solve heinous cases alongside devoted but complicated investigators who may or may not follow the book.
Crime dramas often adopt a binary approach of “heroes” and “villains” depending on the story they’re trying to tell.

There are some great NBC shows still on the bubble. That’s nothing too major to worry about just yet, as we’re only into March. NBC has a habit of waiting until closer to the May Upfronts to make some final decisions.
However, with so many shows on the bubble, we can look at the ones likely to be renewed and canceled. While NBC doesn’t only just rely on the linear ratings, this is usually a strong indication as to whether a show will get another chance.
Something I do want to point out is that Friday and Sunday linear ratings tend to be lower than other nights, and that is something that needs to be considered when look at the ratings to determine which NBC shows could be canceled.
NBC shows likely canceled: Grosse Pointe Garden Society, Lopez vs. Lopez, and more

This is a scene-by-scene recap of Dark Winds Season 3 Episode 2, “Náá’tosh” (Big Eyes). For a discussion of the episode, please check out our Dark Winds Season 3 Episode 2 review.
A couple of guys are driving along in a pickup. The driver is pleased with himself for taking a holster out of a pickup. That must be Bernadette’s gun, as he picked it up down by the river. He’s pleased with himself for being panther-like.
The older fellow driving with him proves how panther-like the driver is when he smothers him with a “have a nice day” grocery bag. He takes the gun from his waistband and shoves the car down the ravine before using the nearby bulldozer to begin dropping dirt on the truck.
(Michael Moriatis/AMC)
The driver wakes up to this nightmare. The ravine looked much larger than the allotment of dirt, but it’s filled in entirely.

The Hallmark Channel’s shows are well-known for being about family, heart, and community. It’s one of the areas where When Calls the Heart excels.
While the last two seasons have fluctuated, When Calls the Heart Season 12 Episode 11 demonstrated Elizabeth’s importance to Hope Valley and how her friends rushed to help her and Little Jack.
This was an extremely emotional hour since everyone cared about Little Jack, and saving that child’s life was of the utmost importance.
(Ricardo Hubbs/ Hallmark Media)
While focusing on Elizabeth’s point of view was crucial, I’m glad we also saw how his illness affected others, including the children.
Keeping Historical Elements Accurate Was Critical for This Devastating Storyline
Keeping the timeline accurate for diabetes in the 1920s was essential for this storyline. The arc was compelling as Elizabeth questioned how she could have missed the symptoms.

If you think you love Found‘s Lacey and Zeke as individual characters, it may pale in comparison to how fond you may be of their portrayals.
They’re incredibly talented, passionate artists who have nothing but the utmost respect for their characters, craft, the series, and one another, and it’s a pleasure to see and hear this respect in action.

The season has been absolute madness, as they’ve pulled out all the stops and gone in so many directions we couldn’t have anticipated.

There’s so much great TV out there, and most isn’t derived from legacy franchises.
Prime Video didn’t seem to get the memo because it continues to bring these excellent properties back to screens without the thrill of their predecessor.
The latest effort, Cruel Intentions, based on the hit movie of the same name, premiered in November 2024 and was pretty much ignored.
(Prime Video/Screenshot)
The 2024 version of Cruel Intentions was a below-average teen drama at best, playing out more like Max’s canceled Gossip Girl reboot, which had some redeeming qualities at the very least.
The 1999 Cruel Intentions had a compelling plot and a cast that included Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillipe, Reese Witherspoon, and Selma Blair.
(Courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios)
As the lame follow-up movies can attest, you can’t reinvent the wheel without the cast that made it such a success in the first place.

While most episodes of The Hunting Party focused on violent serial killers before and after their release from the Pit, “Arlo Brandt” differed from the previous ones.
Played by David Ramsey (Arrow), Arlo Brandt used to hoard possessions and bodies but escaped from the Pit with a renewed purpose.
As seen on The Hunting Party Season 1 Episode 6, he’s become almost like a religious cult leader, hoping to force everyone to eliminate their possessions and become like him. It’s eerie, and it’s up to the trio to discern what’s behind his deranged mind.

Additionally, Bex gets impatient and condronts Oliver about information about Silo 12. This could affect their relationship moving forward.

Every story in Rescue: Hi-Surf Season 1 Episode 17 had something to offer, and in turn, the series delivered the best hour of its first season.
(Zach Dugan/Fox)
It could have been overwhelming with so many moving parts, but the pace worked. While many hours can feel like a slog in certain aspects, the brisk pace of this one felt natural.
And again, it’s something I wish they’d been doing all along.
Em and Cindy were the main plot of the hour, as she dealt with the arrival of boyfriend Ron and son Ethan, who were slotting themselves right into Em’s life like she hadn’t just learned of their existence.

The queen is back, baby!
Yes, for all of you diehard Meredith Grey fans, we can expect her to make her customary visit on Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Episode 10.
Ellen Pompeo may have moved on from Grey’s Anatomy to pursue other things and limited her role, but she knows how to breeze back into Grey Sloan with her hot doc in tow and shake things up a bit.
(Disney/Anne Marie Fox) Meredith Showing Up After Lucas’ Shooting Feels Like Great Timing
Here’s the thing: Mer showing up after Lucas had such a traumatic scare feels like some great timing.
Unfortunately, based on how Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Episode 9 handled that arc (setting aside the potential Ptsd angle), Mer is likely to breeze past this incident as if it were nothing.
One thing about Mer is that she’ll be singularly focused on the task at hand, and it’s likely something professional.

The past three seasons of Power Book III: Raising Kanan have been tough for Raq, and it doesn’t look like things will be changing in season four.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 1 looked back at the events of season three through a different lens, and it was a difficult time for Raq, who had some secrets she was carrying.
The tension and estrangement between Raq and Kanan was still pronounced and showed no signs of thawing, and that relationship will once again be at the forefront of the Power spinoff.

Since the series began, Patina Miller has fully embodied all things Raquel “Raq” Thomas and TV Fanatic was lucky to spend a few minutes with her talking about the season and what we’ll see from Raq.
