The cast has been revealed for Lake Vernon, a new psychological thriller movie that's in the works. Among the cast members is Tommy Wiseau, the eccentric filmmaker and actor best known for his unforgettable performance in the 2003 movie The Room.

Per Variety, Lake Vernon will feature Wiseau as part of the ensemble cast, joined by former NFL star Vernon Davis (The Ritual Killer), Malcolm Goodwin (Reacher), David Anders (The Vampire Diaries), Olivia Grace Applegate (Love and Death), and Andrea Sixtos (Arrow). The cast members are currently filming the movie in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Lake Vernon comes form a story by Davis and Tiffany Toney, while director Aaron Jay Rome (End Trip) co-wrote the screenplay with Isaiah Laborde. Davis is also serving as a producer on the project for Real 85 Productions, joined by Rome and Laborde. Additionally, Davis is also executive producing. Oscar-winning editor Scott Conrad (Rocky) will edit the movie.

Filming is underway in Louisiana on the new psychological horror movie Lake Vernon, and Variety has announced the cast this morning.

Former NFL star turned filmmaker Vernon Davis (The Ritual Killer) produces and stars in the film alongside Malcolm Goodwin (“Reacher”), David Anders (“The Vampire Diaries”), Olivia Grace Applegate (“Love and Death”), Andrea Sixtos (“Arrow”) and Tommy Wiseau (Big Shark).

Not only does Davis star and produce, but Lake Vernon is adapted from a story by Davis and Tiffany Toney. The story was adapted for the screen by director Aaron Jay Rome and writer/producer Isaiah Laborde.

In the film, “Old wounds resurface when a fractured group of friends reunites for a weekend retreat at an exclusive lakeside sanctuary,” the film’s official logline reads. “As buried tensions and unspoken betrayals bubble to the surface, the lake itself seems to be listening — watching — offering impossible miracles at a cost none of them understand.

Throughout its run, Two and a Half Men became one of the most successful sitcoms on television, largely due to the comedic chemistry between Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer. However, after Sheen’s highly publicized departure in 2011, the series struggled to maintain its original charm.

Though Ashton Kutcher joined the show as Sheen’s replacement, the magic that once made the show a ratings powerhouse was gone. Cryer, who took on the lead after Sheen’s exit, had the opportunity to redefine the show’s dynamic. Rarely do shows become even bigger after their original run, but Suits has enjoyed such success. The legal drama series received an immense surge in popularity after it became available for streaming on Netflix and Peacock. Data from Nielsen reveals that the New York-set show was watched for a total of57.7 billion minutes on Netflix in 2023, making it the most-streamed series that year. As expected, NBCUniversal began thinking of expansion. The studio developed a new spin-off series, titled Suits LA, starring Stephen Amell (better known for his work in Arrow), which is currently airing.

Regrettably, Suits LA hasn’t been a major hit with critics. The offshoot currently has a 37% Rotten Tomatoes score, while the parent had 91%. That’s something to worry about, but things can always change. A few characters from the original are rumored to show up down the line, so the quality might improve. In the meantime,...

The network is developing a drama series based on Candice Fox’s 2023 novel Fire With Fire, which would star This Is Us alum Jon Huertas. Exclusive: NBC is developing a drama starring Jon Huertas, who will executive produce alongside The Rookie and The Recruit creator Alexi Hawley.

Former Arrow co-showrunner Wendy Mericle is writing the untitled project based on the novel Fire with Fire by bestselling author Candice Fox.

Executive producer Sherry Marsh acquired the rights to the book while under her deal at eOne. The company’s Mike Lombardo and Jackie Sacerio optioned the title. It comes from Lionsgate Television, where Hawley is under an overall deal, and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Huertas and Mericle executive produce alongside Hawley, through Perfectman Pictures and Marsh for Marsh Entertainment. Perfectman’s Rachel Abarbanell will co-executive produce.

This is Huertas’ return to acting following a two-year break while focusing on directing, and to NBC where he starred on their smash hit series This Is Us in...

Warner Bros. Television has promoted veteran executive Clancy Collins White to the newly created position of president of creative affairs.

In the role, Collins White will continue to oversee scripted programming development for Wbtv while also adding oversight of casting and research. She reports to Channing Dungey, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group and Wbd US Networks.

“Warner Bros Television has been my home for more than 20 years, and I am incredibly honored by this opportunity and excited to take on this new role,” Collins White said. “I want to extend my deepest thanks to Channing for her mentorship and unwavering support. The Batman villain Harley Quinn made her debut on the "Batman: The Animated Series" episodes "Joker's Favor", where she was voiced by actress Arleen Sorkin. The character was envisioned as a clown-like moll for the Joker, and was given a ditzy personality and a broad Noo Yawk accent. She proved to be so popular that she was eventually incorporated into Batman comic books, and soon grew to have titles of her own. Over the years, Harley Quinn has appeared in multiple TV shows and movies, most recently played in live-action by Lady Gaga in "Joker: Folie à Deux." 

Fun trivia: Harley Quinn was actually preceded by a very, very similar character called Prank (Corinne Bohrer), a clown-like moll to a very Joker-like villain named the Trickster (Mark Hamill) on a 1991 episode of "The Flash." Whether or not the makers of "Batman: The Animated Series" were aware of Prank is a matter of speculation.

Prime Video has released the official trailer for The Bondsman, a new horror-comedy series from Blumhouse Television that premieres all eight episodes on Thursday, April 3. In the trailer, which you can watch above, Bacon stars as Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who ends up getting murdered on the job. The next thing he knows, he’s back on Earth, where he’s informed he’s been resurrected so he can “hunt demons for the Devil.” Piece of cake, right?

The show's achievements are undeniable but it had a lot of "CW-isms." Among them was giving Green Arrow a geeky female sidekick in Emily Bett Rickards' Felicity Smoak, the spiritual successor to Smallville's Chloe Sullivan.

Felicity was soon established as Oliver Queen's true love, a decision that upset those eager to see his romance with Black Canary fully explored.

Doing the rounds to promote her new movie, Queen of the Ring, Rickards - who plays wrestling legend Mildred Burke in the biopic - reflected on needing a thick skin in response to the criticisms.

Suits LA is connected to its namesake, Suits, and while they sometimes feel similar, it's often hard to imagine a direct connection. Suits LA has all-new characters pursuing a different world of law than the one seen in the original series. Queen of the Ring star Emily Bett Rickards isn't scared to face wrestling's rabid fanbase. The former Arrow ensemble member will draw their attention when she takes to the silver screen as wrestling legend Mildred Burke in an upcoming biopic, but she developed a knack for braving backlash during her time in the CW's DC universe as Felicity Smoak.

"When I was on Arrow, I quickly realized how passionate comic book fans can be," said the CWveteran in an interview with TV Insider, confessing "At one point, I had to have a really long talk with my therapist, asking, 'Okay, so what is all this energy? I don’t really understand it.'"

The actress claims she had to develop "skin like a rhino" and "heart like a rose" to be able to achieve that understanding. She now acknowledges criticism often stems from passion, not malice alone.

David Johansen, the pioneering vocalist known for his work with New York Dolls and his persona Buster Poindexter, has died. He was 75 years old.

According to a statement from his publicist, Johansen “died at home in New York City on Friday afternoon holding hands with his wife Mara Hennessey and daughter Leah, surrounded by music, flowers, and love. He was 75-years-old and died of natural causes after nearly a decade of illness.”

Johansen had been battling stage four cancer and a brain tumor, and had kept the situation private for a number of years. After a fall that broke his back in two places last November, though, things had taken a turn for the worst, leading him to reveal his diagnosis and ask for financial help in January 2025.

Born David Roger Johansen on January 9th, 1950 in New York City, Johansen first rose to prominence performing with local groups on Staten Island.

For a long time, the Green Lantern IP was kept on the sidelines after the debacle of the 2011 movie, which was originally meant to be the first entry in Warner Bros’ planned DC film universe.
