Exclusive: Andrew Lewis Caldwell (The Matrix Resurrections) has joined the recurring cast of Spider-Noir, the upcoming MGM+ and Prime Video live-action series based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. Details regarding his character are under wraps.

From executive producers/co-showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot and Sony Pictures TV, Spider-Noir tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Nicolas Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.

Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, and Li Jun Li also star in the series.

Spider-Noir is produced by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video. Harry Bradbeer is set to direct, and executive produce the first two episodes. Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.

Bobby Farrelly, co-director of Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, There’s Something About Mary, and the director of 2023’s feelgood sports comedy Champions, is packing his bags for Sporkinfeesten, a family vacation comedy at Amazon MGM. Sporkinfeesten, based on a spec script by Aaron and Will Eisenberg, is based on a true story about “finding your roots.”

Plot details remain a mystery, but it’s Farrelly’s next project after wrapping production on Dear Santa, starring Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Brianne Howrey, and Post Malone about a young boy who, in writing his yearly note to Santa, mixes up the letters and it to Stan instead.

Exclusive: Ahead of the release of his Paramount holiday comedy Dear Santa, starring Jack Black, Bobby Farrelly has found his next project in Sporkinfeesten, a “finding your roots” style family vacation comedy loosely inspired by true events, which has landed at Amazon MGM Studios.

Farrelly will work from a hot spec by Aaron and Will Eisenberg, which the studio recently acquired, with Cobra Kai‘s Counterbalance Entertainment producing. Further plot details are under wraps.

Prior to his work on Dear Santa, which has not yet announced a release date, Farrelly directed the Special Olympics dramedy Champions, a remake of the 2018 Spanish film for Focus Features, starring Woody Harrelson and Kaitlin Olson. The Netflix animated comedy Bad Crimes, which was to be voiced by Nicole Byer (Cursed Friends) and Lauren Lapkus (Crashing), has been canceled in the middle of production. As reported by Variety, the project is now being shopped around to other platforms. Created by Nicole Silverberg (Full Frontal with Samantha Bee), the series is described as a dark comedy procedural following Kara (Byer) and Jennie (Lapkus), two FBI agents who travel across the country to solve grisly crimes while juggling their friendship, career ambitions, and as many men as possible. Comedy veterans Greg Daniels and Mike Judge were on board as producers for the series, which was picked up for a 10-episode order this past January.
