Welling’s first credited role was as “Boy” in the “Picture Perfect” music video in 2000, and he has a total of 17 credits to his name. As he currently has no new projects in production, it is time to look at 10 of the best movies and TV shows from his 25-year-long career.

A Hawaii-set crime thriller, directed by Martin Scorsese and featuring an all-star cast, will see the filmmaker return to the mobster genre once again.
Reports of a new Martin Scorsese project have surfaced, and it looks as though the filmmaker is making a crime caper. According to Deadline, the veteran director will add a new movie about mobsters to a body of work that already includes Goodfellas, Gangs Of New York, Casino, The Departed and The Irishman.
This time around, Hawaii is the location, and Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson, stars of Jungle Cruise, and A24’s upcoming Mma drama, The Smashing Machine, reportedly brought the project to regular collaborators Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio. The pair must have liked what they heard because the whole package of story, director and stars is now being shopped around Hollywood and won’t be short of an interested party or two, we’d imagine.

Lionsgate has released its third quarter financial results after the spinoff of the media giant’s studio business into a separately traded stock.
The studio, led by CEO Jon Feltheimer, posted a sharply narrowed net loss attributable to shareholders at $21.9 million, compared to a year-earlier loss at $107.4 million when Lionsgate at the time reported on the impact of the earlier Hollywood writers and actors strikes on its content production and release pipeline.
During the latest quarter to Dec. 31, 2024, overall revenue fell to $970.5 million, against $975.1 million in the same period of last year. That blew past an analyst estimate for $922 million in overall third quarter revenues by $48 million.
Lionsgate posted an adjusted earnings per-share at 28 cents, which surpassed the analyst estimate by 21 cents. And the studio’s adjusted Oibda came to $144.2 million, against a year-earlier $151 million, which well exceeded the Wall Street estimate for $104 million in adjusted Oibda.

Back in 2011, when the final episode of Smallville aired, fans said goodbye to one of the most beloved Superman stars of all time, Tom Welling. A take on Ivan Reitman’s 2014 sports movie, Draft Day, is coming to television. The movie, which starred Kevin Costner, Jennifer Garner, and the late Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) focused on an NFL football general manager, but the new series will be set in a different sports world - the NBA.
Per Deadline, Lionsgate TV, SpringHill, and Madison Wells are developing the Draft Day series that will “capture the drama and excitement of watching basketball players get drafted and fulfill their dreams,” in a similar fashion to the Reitman film. The film version currently has a 60% on Rotten Tomatoes and made $29.8 million at the worldwide box office.
NBA star LeBron James and Maverick Carter founded SpringHill, which will executive produce the TV series. Madison Wells, which produced 2014’s Draft Day, will produce the show. No writer has been attached to the project.

"I only directed something someone else wrote once and it was a misbegotten adventure from the beginning, as much my fault as anybody else's." Those are the words of director David Koepp, speaking to UCLA in 2022. The misbegotten adventure in question was 2015's "Mortdecai," a globe-trotting comedy starring then-a-lister Johnny Depp. It was a massive failure both critically and commercially, one that Koepp doesn't seem to have an interest in defending.
Koepp is no stranger to big hits. As a screenwriter, he helped turn "Jurassic Park" into one of the biggest movies ever, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. As a director? It's a touch more spotty, but the man knows his way around a success. He previously helmed the thriller "Secret Window,...

It’s been 23 years since Smallville first hit TV screens, introducing audiences to a new take on Superman’s origin story. Premiering in 2001, the show followed a young Clark Kent as he navigated the challenges of growing up in the small town of Smallville while slowly uncovering his destiny as one of the most iconic superheroes in the DC Universe. With its mix of teen drama and superhero elements, Smallville quickly became a fan favorite, running for an impressive ten seasons.

The series was more than just another superhero show, it was a coming-of-age story. It focused on Clark’s struggles with adolescence, relationships, and learning to control his emerging powers. This was all done while encountering classic characters from the Superman lore. Though it wasn’t part of the official Dceu timeline, the show left a lasting legacy.

Kevin Costner knows sports movies, having starred in several of the genre's best and/or most successful. Baseball is of particular interest to the actor, as he has played baseball players in "Stealing Home," the sizeable hit "Bull Durham," the even bigger hit "Field of Dreams," Sam Raimi's "For Love of the Game," and the heady drama "The Upside of Anger." Additionally, Costner appeared in the cycling film "American Flyers," the golf film "Tin Cup," the football film "Draft Day," and the water polo film "Waterworld."
Even when done poorly, sports movies can be inspiring and exhilarating. There is something comforting and reliable about the genre. Even if a sports movie boasts a predictable story about an underdog athlete, a sports team overcoming incredible odds, or a well-worn tale of an egotist champion humbled by real life, audiences are going to feel good on the way out. For American audiences,...

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire pays tribute to Ivan Reitman in a subtle nod to his 1973 film, Cannibal Girls. Cannibal Girls follows a couple who are terrorized by a group of beautiful, cannibalistic women. The Cannibal Girls reference in Frozen Empire is the third to occur in the Ghostbusters franchise.
It may be subtle, but one line from Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is actually the perfect nod to Ghostbusters director, Ivan Reitman. Over the years, Reitman has been at the very core of every Ghostbusters movie. In 1984, Reitman directed and produced the very first Ghostbusters movie. Five years later, he returned for Ghostbusters II. From there, he continued to be a producer on every subsequent Ghostbusters film, including the 2016 remake and the two modern-day reboots starring McKenna Grace. Though Reitman passed away in 2022, his legacy remains in one humorous way in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

Chicago – During Oscar week, all eyes turn to Unit Photographer Dale Robinette, who got the assignment on the Oscar nominated “Barbie.” The following on-set pictures were snapped during the production’s time in Los Angeles, which including the iconic cowpoke wardrobe of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
“Uncle Dale” Robinette first contacted me via email in 2013, to give information about some photos he took on the film “Lovelace.” Ever since then he has been a reliable email pal, sending me image after image from the movie sets that he is “blessed” (his word) to work on. He has plied his skills in Hollywood as a Unit Still Photographer since 1988, after a career as a stage and television actor in New York and Los Angeles. Starting with a TV short called “The Big Five” (1988), he has worked his way up the ladder, and has built an impressive photo resume through familiar films like “Donnie Darko,...

Kevin Costner has starred in over 10 sports-themed movies, with baseball being his most frequent focus. Costner's sports movies are not just about the sport itself, but aim to evoke emotions and connect with viewers on a personal level. Despite his success in baseball movies, basketball is actually Costner's first sports passion, and he has yet to star in a sports movie about it.
Kevin Costner is a renowned movie and TV star and an Oscar-winning director, but he is also the king of sports movies. Before the actor got to play iconic roles, such as Jonathan Kent, Superman's adoptive father in Man of Steel, and John Dutton in the western drama Yellowstone, he kept a powerful relationship with baseball, and although this career as a player didn't work out, he managed to bring his passion for the sport to the movies.

The final comedic performance by James Caan in "Queen Bees" reunites him with Ellen Burstyn, marking a 24-year reunion since their last appearance together in a 2000 crime drama. "Queen Bees" has gained recent popularity on Netflix, currently ranking in the top 3 movies in the United States on the streaming platform. The cast of "Queen Bees" features several other reunions, including Jane Curtin and French Stewart from "3rd Rock from the Sun" and Ann-Margret and Christopher Lloyd from "Going in Style."
The final comedic performance by legendary actor James Caan in Queen Bees quietly marked a cast reunion nearly a quarter-century after their box office flop. Caan, who sadly passed away in 2022, appeared in dozens of classic dramas and comedies ranging from The Godfather as Sonny Corleone to Elf as Walter Hobbs, Buddy's dad. Super Bowl Lvii has the Kansas City Chiefs with quarterback Patrick Mahomes vs. the Philadelphia Eagles and Qb Jalen Hurts.
There are all kinds of football-based films out there to enjoy — from dramas to comedies, and even an award-winning documentary — and we’ve collected 12 of the best here in our photo gallery, ranked from worst to best.
In paring down the list, we had to answer the question: “Just what is a football movie?” We didn’t include “The Blind Side,” for example, because though its central character plays football, the film is primarily about many other things. And while Act 3 of Robert Altman‘s “M*A*S*H” is made up of what is arguably the funniest football game ever put to film, its main concerns are elsewhere.

This year’s Disney Legends panel felt different than it did three years ago, when “Iron Man” himself, Tony Stark, admitted to smoking pot at Disneyland. With three years removed from the event due to Covid, and the awareness that several prominent actors were being given Disney Legend status, the air felt charged for anything.
And after several happy speeches from the likes of “Frozen” actresses Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell, and inspirational moments like “Black-ish” actress Tracee Ellis Ross discussing the significance of her ABC series, the final Legend was met with utter appreciation and reverence. The late Chadwick Boseman was honored with the award, and his brother Derrick sought to remind the audience that the honor of Disney Legend status went deeper than anyone could have expected. The “Black Panther” star was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in 2016 and died in 2020 at the age of 43.

David Fincher’s “The Social Network” opened 10 years ago this month, making instant stars out of cast members Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Rooney Mara, and Armie Hammer. The Oscar-winning Facebook drama allowed each actor to break through in a big way, and it might have done the same for actor Josh Pence had moviegoers gotten to see his face. Hammer appears in “The Social Network” as Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, but, on set, Hammer only played one twin. Pence was cast as the other twin, with Fincher using visual effects to put Hammer’s face onto Pence’s body. In a new interview with HuffPo, Pence looks back at his most iconic role that most people don’t realize is him.
“It was really motion capture acting in a way, that’s how we would almost categorize it now,” Pence said. “But at the time that was still, ‘What is this really?...

My first meeting with Chadwick was on FaceTime. He had read our script Draft Day, and he liked it a lot but didn’t think he should be in it. I asked if I could just speak to him, I wanted to see his face and I wanted him to see me. We just had this really lovely, passionate conversation — it’s where I first got to know how smart he is, and how charismatic.
His first scene was driving a car and speaking to Kevin Costner, who was also driving a car, and the scene was not really written originally ...

Chadwick Boseman achieved an impressive legacy of memorable screen roles, including historical figures Thurgood Marshall, James Brown and Jackie Robinson plus indomitable creations like Black Panther. But which of his roles do you consider his greatest? Vote in our poll below.
After spending much of the 2000s in recurring and guest roles on television, Chadwick Boseman seriously considered quitting acting before landing his breakout film role in “42” as breakthrough baseball star Jackie Robinson in 2013. Boseman received critical acclaim for the role and even landed nominations from the NAACP Image Awards, the Chicago Film Critics and more.
The next year he co-starred with Kevin Costner in “Draft Day” and found his next big biopic role in the form of “Get on Up,” the James Brown story. Once again, he would receive strong notices for his fiercely committed performance. After playing Thoth, the Egyptian God of Wisdom in “Gods of Egypt,...

Before he was a superhero, Chadwick Boseman was a movie star. He seemed to have that quality about him from the get-go, that ineffable something that makes you want to watch people laugh and cry and rage and love, projected 20 feet high onto a screen, something both intimate and larger than life. For a lot of us, it started with 42, the 2013 biopic on Jackie Robinson. Boseman wasn’t exactly an unknown when director Brian Helgeland cast him — he had a long list of TV credits ranging from soap operas to police procedurals,...

Actor Chadwick Boseman, the star of the the blockbuster Marvel film Black Panther, has died from colon cancer at the age of 43.
He kept his battle with cancer quiet from the public. Boseman died at home in Los Angeles with his wife and family present, according to his publicist Friday night.
Boseman notably played the parts of baseball icon Jackie Robinson, the future Supreme Court justice Thurgood Marshall and music superstar James Brown during his film career. However, it was his role as T’Challa, the king of Marvel’s mythical African land of Wakanda, that gave him international recognition.
His family said in a statement: “A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much.
