Rooney showed up on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night to promote his movie Y2K, and in keeping with the ‘90s theme, he ridiculed some of his favorite VHS tapes from back in the day. Here are some of the gems in his collection, both from last night and other Mooney appearances over the years:

Moviemakers could have chosen a title like Fantastic Future or Back in the Day, Mooney said, but instead, they decided to go with the most unexciting choice imaginable: Present Time. Shannen Doherty, who had been living with cancer since 2015, has passed away. She was 53 years old.

"It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty," reads a statement given to People by Doherty's publicist, Leslie Sloane. "On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease. The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace."

Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. During the course of her journey, she had gone into remission in 2017, but Doherty announced in 2019 that the cancer had returned. In 2020, she revealed that she'd been diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 cancer. Doherty shared in 2023 that she'd undergone surgery after the cancer spread to her brain. CBS’ Blue Bloods will say farewell to the late Treat Williams in an episode airing this Friday, March 1 at 10/9c.

Everwood alum Williams first played Lenny Ross, a former NYPD detective and police commissioner Frank Reagan’s old partner, in Season 6’s “Back in the Day.” Most recently, in his sixth Blue Bloods guest spot, he appeared in last season’s “Irish Exits”; there, Lenny revealed to Frank that he was dying of cancer related to his being one of the first responders at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Abacus Media Rights has acquired worldwide sales rights (excluding the UK) to Dan Reed’s feature doc on detained social media influencer Andrew Tate. At the end of last year Tate was arrested by Romanian police on suspicion of rape, organized crime and human trafficking. Australian streaming service Stan has renewed its exclusive content partnership with Hollywood studio MGM. The deal covers series and film titles.

First-run MGM series featured covered by the agreement include: “Billy the Kid,” an epic romantic-adventure series from MGM’s U.S. cable network Epix; “The Box,” a supernatural psychological thriller starring Anna Friel; and the French-Riviera-set series “The Reunion,” based on Guillaume Musso’s best-selling novel and starring Ioan Gruffudd.

Blockbuster films available to stream on Stan in 2023, include: Ridley’s Scott’s “House of Gucci”; Paul Thomas Anderson’s newly released coming-of-age comedy drama “Licorice Pizza”; the biographical musical drama “Respect”; and the upcoming animation “The Addams Family 2.”

Exclusive: MGM is looking to ramp up its Spanish-language originals after striking a first-look deal with Spanish talent manager Ruth Franco.

The multi-year deal will see Ruth Franco Talent and the Hollywood studio develop Spanish-language and English-language scripted series across platforms internationally and in the U.S.

Franco reps a slew of some of Spain’s biggest actors, directors and screenwriters and will develop shows under the deal in partnership with Talent on the Road and World Talent House.

It comes as MGM International Television Productions bolsters its global production slate, which includes projects such as Michael Hirst’s Billy the Kid, John Griffin’s sci-fi horror series From, Amazon YA pilot order Shelter from Harlan Coben and The Reunion, an adaptation of French author Guillaume Musso’s novel La Jeune Fille et la Nuit.

The reunion show was a big success in the UK, where it aired on Sky One. The series, which was came from producers including James Corden and Ben Winston’s Fulwell 73, drew over 5M viewers for the Comcast-owned network.

Much like the fact that Joey doesn’t share food, HBO Max, which ordered the special, doesn’t share ratings so we may never know how it did in the U.S. in comparison.

Over four viewings, across live, recorded and downloads, the series was watched by 5.3M in the UK. This was Sky’s most watched show in the last two years and second only to the final series of Game of Thrones for the biggest audience ever across Sky’s portfolio of channels.

Friends: The Reunion satisfied fans on so many levels, as it brought everyone back together and in such a unique and nostalgic way. And as it crammed in as many cast members as possible to get insight into their time on the show and where they think their characters would be today, most fans felt it was a perfect substitute for a proper scripted reunion episode.

But there were also a lot of characters missing, some that fans of Friends were wanting to hear about the most. And along with several missed opportunities to ask the cast burning questions that fans have been pondering for almost two decades, there’s almost enough to make up another whole two-hour special.

Friends: The Reunion sparked some criticism over its "lack of diversity," and director Ben Winston has responded to the backlash. Last month, the reunion special premiered on HBO Max, featuring all six of the show's original stars along with a variety of special guests. Though many fans enjoyed the reunion, there were some critics who questioned why Black actors who guest starred on Friends weren't included, concluding that the special was not diverse enough.

Speaking with The Sunday Times, Winston was asked about the perceived lack of diversity in Friends: The Reunion. For his part, the director says that the people making those claims "haven't seen it," insisting that the special was in fact very diverse. Here's how Winston explains it, straight from the interview.

"We have Malala, Mindy Kaling, BTS [the South Korean boy band]. There are three women from Ghana, one who talks about how Friends saved her life. Two boys from Kenya.

The Friends reunion reignited fan passion in the iconic sitcom from the '90s and early '00s. For the first time in 17 years, the main cast members were all together in the same room to reminisce about their time on the show. Along with the main cast getting together with host James Corden to discuss the series, plenty of other supporting characters returned to participate.

The reunion had fans thinking: what have the cast members been up to since the series ended way back in 2004? Some have had some high-profile projects, including shows and movies, while others haven't spent as much time in the spotlight.

The Friends actors do sort-of recreate the famous trivia game scene from the series, but is there a chance they'll soon be back in character for a genuine revival, whether that be through another spinoff or even a reunion movie? Any fans wanting that to happen shouldn't be holding their breath. In a new interview with THR, series creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane, along with executive producer and director Kevin Bright completely shut down the idea.

Fans of the iconic '90s sitcom Friends had been anxiously awaiting the Friends: The Reunion special (official name Friends: The One Where They Got Back Together), which had to be delayed due to Covid-19, but it finally aired on HBO Max and, for many, it was totally worth the wait.

Not only did the special bring all six main cast members together in the same room for the first time in 17 years, it also welcomed a long list of celebrity cameos.

The hype about the special seemed obvious pre-release.

"Friends: The Reunion" was never really meant to reload the hysteria. The purpose was always to remind the world that the hysteria still exists. Seventeen years after the original series ended its decade's run, the reunion special was essentially aimed at reiterating the fact that nostalgia around the series is still intact.

Creators Kevin S. Bright, David Crane and Marta Kauffman have wisely gone for an unscripted format, aware perhaps that no amount of smart storywriting could create an episode that would let them avoid comparisons with an original series that continues to draw overwhelming sentimental appeal.

As professed by Monica E. Geller herself, “The One with the Embryos” is certainly among the very best episodes of “Friends.” Valid arguments against its No. 1 ranking would have to highlight Phoebe’s absence from the heated trivia game. After all, there are great bottle episodes featuring the whole Central Perk crew (like “The One Where No One’s Ready”), great episodes grounded in reveals (“The One Where Everyone Finds Out”), romance (“The One With the Proposal”), and routines (“The One With the Routine”), and, of course, there are the Thanksgiving episodes (“The One Where Ross Got High” tops among them).

But really, “The One With the Embryos” isn’t just a flawless episode of television; it’s a flawless episode of “Friends,” in that it illustrates just how deeply the creative team understood their show. Lifting Phoebe out of the A-plot actually works in her favor, since learning facts...

Paul Benjamin, who appeared in Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing, has died. Lee announced on Instagram that the veteran actor died June 28. The cause of death was not immediately known. Benjamin was 81.

Benjamin, who played one of the three wise Brooklyn “cornermen” in Lee’s 1989 film Do the Right Thing, began his career in 1969 as a bartender in Midnight Cowboy. The popular Korean boy band will make their highly anticipated daytime debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, which features an interview with all seven members of the group -- J-Hope, Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, Rm, Suga and V.

DeGeneres had an interpreter on hand, but it turns out some members of the group speak English rather well, thanks to a little help from their Friends!

Steven Moffat chats to us about Doctor Who, the changing face of television, and the internet culture around it...

Ahead of the release of Doctor Who series 10 on DVD and Blu-ray – it lands on Monday, and is available digitally now – outgoing showrunner Steven Moffat did a select few interviews to chat about the show. And he saved one for us.

It was refreshing that, having got lost myself on the way to the interview venue in the depths of London, Moffat himself managed to as well. Apologetic for arriving ten minutes late for our chat, he insisted on adding those minutes to the end of our time, and that’s not something that happens very often with interviews.
