Lynn Ban, the Singaporean jewelry designer and star of Bling Empire: New York who suffered brain and head injuries in a skiing accident just before Christmas, died Monday apparently as a result of that incident. She was 51.

“My mum passed away on Monday,” Ban’s son Sebastian announced on Instagram this morning. “I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post sharing the news to people who supported her.” (See the post below.)

Lynn’s passing is especially shocking given her active and healthy lifestyle.

According to a new report from Page Six, Ban suffered an accident while skiing on Christmas Eve.

“At the top of the mountain I caught a tip and face planted . Luckily I always wear a helmet , It didn’t seem that bad at the time and I was able to ski to the bottom,” the jewelry designer wrote on Instagram at the time.

In Bling Empire: New York they were busy putting things together at Lynn Ban Jewelry after the Covid pandemic. Well, Aspen called for the holiday season, and that’s when she had an accident.

Lynn Ban had been skiing when the accident happened. Fortunately, she wasn’t as badly hurt as Bachelor in Paradise star Dean Unglert Bell a few years ago. His injury happened in Switzerland. However, she required urgent surgery in a trauma hospital.

The analysis, which is based on the top 25 highest-reaching direct-to-streaming and top 25 highest-reaching linear TV premiere episodes that were released between January 1 and May 1, found that 42% of top-billed actors were Hispanic, Black, Asian, or another ethnicity such as mixed, while 58% were white. At the show level, 48 out of the top 50 programs featured a white lead, over two-thirds included a Black lead, and 56% featured mixed leads. However, less than half included Hispanic or Asian leads.

Deadline broke the news Wednesday, revealing that Bling Empire would not return for a fourth season.

Additionally, the New York-set spinoff has been canceled after a single season.
