Before the ultimate showdown between Cody Rhodes and John Cena for the WWE Universal Championship title, the two wrestlers’ intense verbal build-up had been the central talking point in the WWE universe.
While John Cena’s heel turn has been the surprise element in the recent saga of events, Cody Rhodes, too, has remained relevant through his charged-up monologues against the former champion.
However, not everyone was comfortable with the storyline before WrestleMania 41. While Cena has gotten his share of audience interaction, the WWE veteran has supposedly not replied to the verbal assaults from the American Nightmare.

This has created an impression amongst fans that Triple H, the chief content officer at WWE, has deliberately made heel Cena not interact with the current Champion to save him from the humiliation Cena can bring by attacking Rhodes.

If there has been one wrestler living out his life to the fullest, it has to be Cm Punk. The Second City Saint did everything one could, wreaked havoc on WWE, captured the championship, lost it to The Rock and delivered a promo that would forever remain as one of the most iconic in the history of pro-wrestling. He then left WWE, fought in UFC, suffered a defeat, teased appearances in pro-wrestling and finally made a return to Aew.
Just when the fans weren’t expecting to listen to the ‘Cult of Personality’ anymore on the WWE titantron, they were stunned and startled as Punk came down the pike once more, announcing his return to WWE at the 2023 Survivor Series. However, like the way his arrival made the fans holler at the top of their lungs, the emotions weren’t echoed in the squared circle.

The WWE universe is filled with some of the biggest names out there in professional wrestling. Legends like The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Undertaker have not only dominated the ring but have also built a prestige that extends far beyond it. These stars not only became idols for the masses but also built massive fortunes along the way. Among these famous wrestling greats, a new generation of superstars also entered the scene, in which Cody Rhodes’ name stands the tallest.
His story of greatness was pretty different than the rest, as he wasn’t just handed success but had to fight for it. Being the son of WWE legend Dusty Rhodes was not an easy task since expectations were very high. However, he wanted to shape his own path and departed from WWE in 2016 to wrestle on the independent circuit.

The world of pro-wrestling has been going crazy ever since John Cena decided to turn heel. When Cody Rhodes refused to join The Rock at Elimination Chamber, it was John Cena who sold his soul and what followed thereafter was carnage of the highest order.
More importantly, this was John Cena’s first heel turn in the last 25 years and that is exactly what has driven the world absolutely bonkers. Also, for the unversed, Cena has already embarked upon his farewell tour as announced earlier and it ends in 2025 for the Leader of Cenation.

John Cena’s heel turn shocked the wrestling world. He joined the “Final Boss” The Rock and sold his ‘soul’. We still don’t know why he did that but the effects of the turn have created ruffles in the wrestling world nonetheless. Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter (of Apter Mags fame) tried to contact John Cena’s father Cena Sr. about this heel turn. The conversation turned awry as Cena Sr. did not appreciate the question. He immediately castigated the senior journalist for the question.
John Cena’s father got angry after Bill Apter asked about the heel turn
Bill Apter is a very renowned journalist. He has been working in the industry for more than five decades. He decides to interview John Cena’s father Cena Sr. after the heel turn took place. Apter questioned Cena Sr. about his son’s actions after the two buddies had exchanged pleasantries.

Following the event, in the postmatch conference he decided not to comment on his actions. Thus, leaving the fans to anticipate that he will forsake his integrity for a 17th WWE Champion in his final run.

Similar to comic books, pro wrestling features heroes and villains. They're referred to as babyfaces and heels by fans and, for upwards of two decades, WWE viewers have wondered what it would look like if John Cena were to "turn heel."
The chances of it ever happening seemed slim, especially as the Peacemaker star has granted more Make-a-Wish requests than anyone in history. In 2025, Cena is embarking on a retirement tour and will hang up his wrestling boots and jorts for good at the end of this year.

Dwayne Johnson’s SmackDown promo with Cody Rhodes a few days back was intriguing as hell. Johnson made it clear that he wanted only one thing from Rhodes: his soul. The Rock told him that he needed an answer from Rhodes when they met again at the Elimination Chamber. Johnson has made another move towards his ‘agenda’ during the SmackDown episode on Friday.

The episode saw Rhodes being given many luxuries so that he could make a decision in favor of the Final Boss. At the end of the episode, The Rock himself appeared via satellite and gifted Rhodes a customized F-150 Raptor truck. He then made some comments about Rhodes’ late father, probably to emotionally manipulate Rhodes into taking the offer.

Fallout and Nobody Wants This ended 2024 as the top new original drama and comedy in streaming, respectively, Nielsen said Monday in a recap of the year.
Nielsen said preschool mainstay Bluey, Netflix drama Bridgerton and Disney animated feature Moana were the year’s top overall streaming titles. The Big-Bang Theory was named “most-binged title,” while Little House on the Prairie and Gunsmoke took home awards for “legacy” viewership.
The measurement firm presented its year-end findings in the form of a newly christened set of prizes: the Artey Awards. The name is both a nod to company founder Arthur C. Nielsen and an acronym for Audience Rated Television Entertainment of the Year.
In handing our ARTEYs, which succeed prior years’ “Streaming Unwrapped” reports, Nielsen noted that overall streaming surged 10% in 2024 over 2023 levels. The cumulative tally surpassed 12 trillion minutes, or the equivalent of 8.4 billion days or 23 million years.

Exclusive: Alysia Russo, who was Head of Docuseries at Amazon MGM Studios, is moving to Netflix.
It marks a rare senior executive moving directly between two rival studios.
Russo is understood to be working on feature docs at Netflix. While there are two executives from this team on maternity leave, Russo’s role is unrelated and is a temporary contract, thought to be 18 months.
Russo was behind Amazon docuseries such as LulaRich and its upcoming Glitter and Greed: The Lisa Frank Story, which comes from the producers of ID’s Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.
Her move comes less than four months after a restructure within Amazon MGM Studios.
In May, Russo’s boss Lauren Anderson, who was Head of AVOD Programming and Studios Unscripted across U.S. Prime Video and Amazon Freevee, was named Head, Brand and Content Innovation, but continuing to oversee the AVOD originals team.

Bridgerton had an epic six months, with its first and second season also making the top 20 with 38.4 million and 34.2 million views globally. Shonda Rhimes’ show is commissioned out of the U.S. but made in the UK with British acting talent.
After Bridgerton Season 3 came Baby Reindeer – the controversial smash series that is currently subject to a lawsuit – watched by 87.6 million, with The Gentlemen next with 75.9 million.
The most-watched U.S. series was Avatar: The Last Airbender in fifth with 71.1 million, followed by Griselda. In seventh place was also a British series, American Nightmare, the highest-rated...

Netflix's newest hit crime drama, Outlaw, is based on the real-life story of Brazil's Raquel de Oliveira.

Netflix is once again mining some of Britain’s finest podcast IP by making a documentary about Sweet Bobby from All3Media-backed The Tinder Swindler producer Raw.
The popular Tortoise pod delivered a huge twist. It told the story of how broadcaster Kirat Assi became embroiled in an impossibly complex web of deception that lasted for more than a decade and involved many fabricated characters.
When Kirat met ‘Bobby’ on Facebook and embarked on a long-distance relationship with him, she believed she had found the love of her life. As it evolved from a friendship to an increasingly controlling romantic relationship, Kirat became subsumed into a web of deception, as Bobby’s explanations for why they couldn’t meet face to face became more and more extreme.
The story evoked themes of control and social media, and was hugely popular, turning into a live investigation.

Netflix's documentary series, American Nightmare, did not include several major details about the Denise Huskins case. From multiple police chiefs being hired since 2015 to new charges for the kidnapper, Matthew Muller, the case affected many lives both in front of the camera and off camera. It has also affected the City of Vallejo and the public's opinion on botched police investigations as well as the treatment of sexual assault and kidnapping victims by the police.
The series covers a 2015 incident when Denise Huskins and her now-husband Aaron Quinn were assaulted in their home, with Huskins later kidnapped. Despite calling the police and reporting the incident, the Vallejo Police Department accused Huskins and Quinn of faking the crime in a Gone Girl-inspired hoax. Police later learned the crime was real and faced backlash, including a lawsuit from Huskins and Quinn...
