Former Freakish star Leo Howard and Alicia Coppola (Empire) are set for recurring roles in CBS All Access’ Why Women Kill, a darkly comedic drama from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, Imagine Television Studios and CBS TV Studios.
Created by Cherry, Why Women Kill details the lives of three women living in three different decades: a housewife in the ‘60s (Ginnifer Goodwin), a socialite in the ‘80s (Lucy Liu) and a lawyer in 2018 (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), each dealing with infidelity in their marriages. The series will examine how the roles of women have changed but how their reaction to betrayal has not.
Howard is Tommy. Seen in 1982. A sexy, handsome teen, about to turn 18, he is working as a waiter at one of Simone’s (Liu) parties. Boyishly likable, hardworking, and with a little swagger, he is the son of one of Simone’s friends. He’s also got a mad crush on Simone.

Leprechaun creator Mark Jones, the man who helped make Warwick Davis a household name in households that like rhyme-heavy horror comedies more than Star Wars or Willow, has just lodged a legal complaint centered on his latest project. Jones is accusing a supposed lawyer of ruining his plans for Vamprechaun, a movie that sounds like Jones invented it while staring, bleary-eyed, at his kids’ overly-sugared breakfast cereals:
(Images: General Mills)
Jones is accusing Lance Thompson—a man who secured funding and acted as the production attorney for his 2014 revenge thriller Scorned—of falsely representing himself as a lawyer, and torpedoing Vamprechaun’s chances of ever merrily jigging its way to unlife. The troubles apparently started during a car trip the two men took together, in which Jones explained the film’s premise. (Or, in the words of the legal complaint: “Jones simply explained that the idea involved a leprechaun ...

The man behind the cult horror-comedy Leprechaun franchise is out for blood in a copyright-infringement lawsuit over his new Vamprechaun project.
Mark Jones is suing Lance Thompson for allegedly lying about being an attorney and causing him to lose financing on his film, according to a complaint filed in California federal court.
Jones says he began developing the "vamprechaun" character — a leprechaun-vampire hybrid — in or before 2009. He put the project on hold because he was focused on finding funding for his 2013 film, Scorned, which was further along in the development process. Thompson secured funding for the film and also...

Just as quickly as Afflicted redefined the “found footage” horror subgenre, SX_Tape came along and proved there are still Plenty of opportunities for filmmakers to exploit first-person horror normalities. One day there’s a bright hope, the next there’s a disgusting reminder that for every original idea, someone else will rehash the past few years of duds for their own ill-conceived shitfest. I want to remain positive, happily accepting an advancement in “found footage” horror – but it takes a certain type of awful to make me hate a movie in which our lead, possessed character jumps up and down screaming “Let Me Suck Your Dick!” To think some inexperienced filmmaker could just waltz into stardom with such a – wait, this was directed by Bernard Rose of Candyman fame? Oh boy, where’s Tony Todd when you need him?

“Man, if college kids keep watching horror movies about Spring Break, they’ll never want to invade isolated getaways for a week-long alcohol, drug, and sex binge again!” – hopes every overprotective parent in America. Yes, it’s true that horror films love exploiting Spring Break for all its debaucherous shenanigans, picking from a goldmine of horny, drunk, uninhibited party goers with zero awareness, but some attempts are nothing but a lame buzzkill – like the dude who shows up carrying wine coolers. Weak bro.
Take Jim Valdez’s Machine Head for example – three girls, three guys, a lavish house in the middle of nowhere, and a stalker obsessed with “Ding-Dong-Ditch.” About as brainless as some drunken sorority girl looking to get revenge on mommy and daddy, Valdez never once achieves even a modicum of slasher glory despite casting three bodacious babes – I know, right?! Don’t you love it when a movie’s title is referenced in a piece of dialogue within the movie itself, and upon hearing it everyone in the theater nudges their companions knowingly and snarks, “Hey, that’s the name of the movie!” as though no one has ever made that remark before? Well, if you do, you’ll love Scorned, in which the title of the movie is shouted by star AnnaLynne McCord so many times throughout that you’ll end up with bruised biceps from being poked repeatedly. However, a few bruises is getting off light when compared to the violence suffered by the characters onscreen in this paint-by-numbers psychosexual thriller.

If I learned anything from Red Clover, it’s that Billy Zane and leprechaun movies don’t mix – yet I still gave Scored the good old college try. “But Matt, does that mean there are evil leprechauns in Scorned?!” No random commenter, even though a monster leprechaun might have presented Something interesting, but Scorned is written and directed by Leprechaun helmer Mark Jones – what could go wrong, right?! I know, I’m softening you up for the surprising fact that Scorned is quite possibly one of the most boring, uninspired, and poorly imagined thrillers of the year – and if you think I’ve already used the world “scorned” too many times, I dare you to drink every time Scorned references its own title – knowingly. Actually, I recommend you play that drinking game, because being blackout drunk may be the best way to watch Jones’ latest. Hell, the same rules might even help my own review.

Hell hath no fury like a you-know-who who has been you-know-what-ed in the new thriller Scorned, which is released on Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday. The film stars AnnaLynne McCord (90210) as a woman who discovers her boyfriend (Billy Zane) has been cheating on her with dramatic and — judging by the movie’s trailer — dog-in-microwave-featuring consequences.
Below, Scorned director Mark Jones (Leprechaun, Rumpelstiltskin) talks about the film — and the time he got punk’d by George Peppard.
Entertainment Weekly: Tell us about Scorned.
Mark Jones: Okay. Well, it’s basically Misery meets Fatal Attraction with young people.

Given that the Southern Hemisphere is experiencing the summer season, it’s no wonder AnnaLynne McCord and Dominic Purcell have escaped to Australia for the holidays.
On Wednesday (January 1) the “Fired Up!” starlet pranced around on Manly Beach in Sydney with her main man, who displayed his buff bod for all to see.
A native Aussie, Purcell began dating AnnaLynne back in 2011 and despite rumors of a split in 2012, these two are ringing in the New Year very much together.
In career news, Ms. McCord will star alongside Billy Zane in “Scorned,” while Dominic’s new flick “Vikingdom” recently came out on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Check out a pair of trailers for director Mark Jones’s thriller “Scorned”, starring the girl from that CW TV show, who plays a totally crazy chick, and the other girl from the Starz TV show, who pays her victim. Plus, Billy Zane of “Titanic” fame is in this one, too. The first trailer is for everyone, and features just a little bit of skin. The second trailer is labeled a Red Band, and featured just a little bit more skin, along with some violence, including the possibility of a dog frying in a microwave. Now that’s just cruel. Sadie (AnnaLynne McCord) and Kevin (Billy Zane) have decided to spend a romantic weekend together at his lake house. But when an unexpected – and unfortunate – text from her best friend Jennifer (Viva Bianca) to Kevin reveals a lurid love affair between the two, Sadie spirals into a hunger for revenge that is without mercy.

Great news for the indie horror scene. The haunting new flick House of Bad has completely sold out on Amazon! Take that, big studios and your 14 million leftover copies of the Total Recall remake!
From the Press Release
House of Bad, the award-winning 2013 independent horror film and fan-site darling, blistered anticipated sales yesterday, selling Amazon.com out of stock, taking the internet giant by surprise. After a month of being available as a pre-order, the title suddenly became unavailable on the day of its official release.
The turn of events represents a new twist to the typical story of the independent film scene, where directors and filmmakers struggle to find distribution and access to robust sales outlets. Without such avenues cinematic efforts can be lost in the shuffle, a reality for low-budget genre films and true gems like House of Bad.
"It's awesome and frustrating at the same time," says executive producer Scott Frazelle.

“90201” is 9021-over so that means AnnaLynne McCord can spend her late summer days as a fashionista/philanthropist/skydiver. On Sunday (August 18), the actress was all dolled up in Venice, California for a charity that supports sex trafficking survivors.
At the “18for18: Summer Soiree”, honoring the Somaly Mam Foundation, the 26-year-old actress helped raise more than $100,000. The charity is named after its founder, Somaly Man, a Cambodian-based sex trafficking survivor who helps empower others who’ve gone through the same ordeal.
The day before, Miss McCord went skydiving at 18,000 feet in support of the Foundation. Afterwards, she Tweeted to her 200,000 followers, “So... I lived. #18for18 To my Sister @SomalyMam thank u 4 teaching me that we can live w/ love. #LifeisLove.”
The Atlanta-born beauty will next appear in the thriller “Gutshot Straight” with Steven Seagal, Tia Carrere, and Stephen Lang. She also stars in the upcoming thriller “Scorned” with Billy Zane.

"90210" and Excision star AnnaLynne McCord has signed on for the revenge thriller Scorned alongside Titanic star Billy Zane and Viva Bianca from Starz's "Spartacus."
Per The Wrap, McCord and Zane will play Sadie and Kevin, a couple whose romantic weekend at a lake house takes a sideways turn when a text message from Sadie's best friend (played by Bianca) to Kevin reveals a lurid love affair between the two, sending Sadie on a vengeance spree.
