Paris-based production company Haut et Court and London-based Good Chaos have officially secured the film rights to ‘Paris-Hollywood,’ the debut novel by writer and critic Cécile Mury. The two companies plan to bring the novel to the big screen as a feature film, blending the romantic charm of both French and English-language romantic comedies.
The novel follows the love story between a French journalist and an English-speaking movie star, exploring themes of romance, cultural differences, and self-discovery. Given its unique take on love and relationships, the book has already gained significant attention in the literary world.
Mike Goodridge, CEO of Good Chaos, expressed his excitement about the adaptation, calling ‘Paris-Hollywood’ “a charming and winning read” that intelligently examines “the nature of love and the limits we put on ourselves before falling in love.” He added, “We are thrilled to collaborate with our friends at Haut et Court to create a classic European rom-com.

In September 2024, it was confirmed Netflix will continue to be the home of Football Manager. The 2025 release of the mobile version was initially set to launch on November 26th but was subsequently delayed until March 2025 and now, as of February 2025, canceled altogether.
To recap, Netflix has now been the home of Football Manager Mobile for the past year, with the streamer and Sports Interactive announcing FM24 Mobile would be exclusive to Netflix in September 2023. While not a replica of the PC and console versions of the title, the mobile iteration offered Career Mode, Challenge Mode, and the Create-a-Club feature. The developer listed the game as a 3/5 on the detail level and said it was optimized for faster gameplay. Touch Me challenges traditional categorization, provoking immediate intrigue. On the surface, it appears as a psychosexual sci-fi horror film, but like its shape-shifting alien Brian—who transitions from compassionate healer to menacing predator—it transforms into something more complex and disturbing. Writer-director Addison Heimann, known for Hypochondriac (2022), presents a film where genre and narrative intertwine like an unsettling hallucination.
The story centers on Joey (Olivia Taylor Dudley), a struggling young woman managing Ocd and past trauma, who becomes connected with an alien—Brian (Lou Taylor Pucci)—whose touch temporarily alleviates her deepest psychological burdens. Joey and her close friend Craig (Jordan Gavaris) become entangled in the seductive, mysterious allure of this otherworldly being. It represents intimacy, healing, and control—and ultimately, profound complications.
The film explores deeper themes about contemporary experiences, examining how individuals confront inner turmoil through external mechanisms. It critiques societal patterns of seeking comfort and escape, questioning our approaches to wellness,...

After the hopeful signs of recovery over the last two years, attendance in all five markets dropped again in 2024, by a small margin of 3% in Denmark to nearly 13% in Norway. Post Covid effects and Hollywood strikes that led to a lack of U.S. tentpoles were blamed for the decline, however mitigated in some territories by the strong performance of domestic fare.
In Finland, local titles secured a record 31.6% market share, with the local epic love story “Stormskerry Maja” leading the charge. In Sweden, the local champion was the heart-warming documentary “The Last Journey” in which the TV personalities Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingsson (aka Filip & Fredrik) travel to France to rekindle the zest for life of Filip’s aging dad. The Swedish Oscar entry largely contributed to the country’s 22% market-share and biggest ticket sales in seven years.

Addison Heimann’s Touch Me feels tailor-made for 2000s teens who came of age exploring Newgrounds.com’s niche popularity and independent video store backrooms. Its confrontations of trauma are veiled behind sumptuous Japanese media influences: “Pink” films, anime, and hentai. Heimann’s cosmically carnal tale is brazenly naked — pun intended. Touch Me’s alien erotica bares all in an orgy of anxious spirals, wriggly appendages, and repressed sadness. Expect a sexually charged commentary on masturbatory suffering with love paid to Gregg Araki and John Waters, which — while divisive — bursts with unbridled originality that cements Heimann as a filmmaking voice everyone should follow.

Does television need another spinoff?
Oh, we already know that our opinions on that matter are irrelevant because there is nothing the industry loves more than to churn out multiple variations of the same versions of our favorite series.
And as much as we side-eye them for the lack of originality, most of us are still firmly seated for them. If the formula works, then it works.
(Bennett Raglin/CBS) Another Dick Wolf Spinoff Spells Success
When it comes to the spinoff game, Dick Wolf has been dominating television for over 30 years because of them.
That’s why CBS’s addition of another show to the FBI franchise isn’t surprising. I’ll even say it’s potentially exciting.
Setting aside that a new FBI series could spell doom for one of the spinoffs, the franchise may be livening things up with this joint task force version of the series.

As expected, Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez (Netflix) landed a Best International Feature Film Oscar nomination today, one of a leading, and record-setting 13 overall for a film not in English. Other mentions for the audacious musical melodrama include Best Picture, Director, Actress and more.
With so many inclusions elsewhere, it’s possible that votes are split and Emilia Pérez does not convert to a win in the International race with folks opting to honor another deserving picture. But, if it does win, it would be the first time that a selection from France scores an Academy Award in the International category since Régis Wargnier’s Indochine in 1993.
The other titles in the International Oscar field doing crossover duty include Walter Salles’ lauded and so-called “comeback” movie, I’m Still Here from Brazil where it has done terrific box office for Sony. The movie also scored a Best Picture nomination as well...

Ashton Kutcher’s name was drawn into the recent Diddy scandal due to his friendship with the disgraced hip-hop mogul. Kutcher and Sean Diddy Combs formed an unlikely friendship in the early 2000s when they were both hosting shows for MTV. They, along with Jamie Foxx, were a tight-knit group until Kutcher’s relationship with Demi Moore kept him away from this group. Despite drifting apart, Diddy once claimed that they were still friends.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences on Tuesday unveiled the shortlist of 15 films that will vie for a nomination for the best international feature film Oscar at the 97th Academy Awards.
85 countries submitted features this award season but several frontrunners quickly pulled out from the pack, and easily made it onto the longlist, including Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez, representing France, the Danish contender The Girl With the Needle from director Magnus von Horn, and Mohammad Rasoulof’s The Seed of the Sacred Fig, an Iran-set feature submitted by co-production country Germany.
Several festival circuit favorites made the cut. I’m Still Here, Brazil’s contender comes to the Oscars on referral from Venice, where it won the best screenplay prize. Director Walter Salles scored an Oscar nom back in Central Station in the international category (then known as best foreign-language film), with Fernanda Montenegro, who has a cameo in I’m Still Here,...

Refresh for latest…: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has whittled down a field of 85 eligible films to a shortlist of 15 which will now advance to the next round of voting, looking to secure a nomination for the Best International Feature Oscar.
In the mix are such expected titles as Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez from France, Walter Salles’ Brazilian drama I’m Still Here and Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof’s The Seed of the Sacred Fig, which is Germany’s submission.
This marks a first for Rasoulof, who (never having represented Iran) has been living in Germany since his dramatic flight from his native country in May this year.

France’s “Emilia Pérez,” Germany’s “The Seed of the Sacred Fig” and Brazil’s “I’m Still Here” have been named to the shortlist in the Oscars’ Best International Feature Film category, retaining their frontrunner status in a race that had fewer high-profile contenders than usual this year.
Other films on the list are Canada’s “Universal Language,” the Czech Republic’s “Waves,” Denmark’s “The Girl With the Needle,” Iceland’s “Touch,” Ireland’s “Kneecap,” Italy’s “Vermiglio,” Latvia’s “Flow,” Norway’s “Armand,” Palestine’s “From Ground Zero,” Senegal’s “Dahomey,” Thailand’s “How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies” and the United Kingdom’s “Santosh.”
“Flow” is the only animated film on the list, while “Dahomey” is the only documentary. The Palestinian selection, “From Ground Zero,” is the most unusual of the shortlisted films, consisting of 22 separate short films made over the last year by directors living in Gaza.

"The Infinity Saga" is unlike anything we'll ever experience in theaters again, given the surgical precision of storytelling, character arcs, and plot connectivity over those years. Now that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the top cinematic franchise, with double-digit stacks at $29.8 billion, it's simple to understand Marvel Entertainment's mastery of moviemaking. Yet, the Halycon Days of The Mad Titan are gone. And we've been left for a lackluster ride of mild entertainment in the Multiverse.

Baltasar Kormákur’s Icelandic box office hit Touch marks the fifth time that the filmmaker has been chosen as the country’s representative in the International Feature Oscar category, but it also reps something of a departure for the multi-hyphenate who’s perhaps more associated outside of Iceland with action and adventure titles like 2 Guns and Everest.
A love story based on the bestselling novel by Ólafur Jóhann Ólafsson, who co-wrote the script with Kormákur, Touch follows widower Kristofer (Egil Ólafsson), who, after receiving an early-stage dementia diagnosis at the outset of the pandemic, leaves behind his Reykjavik home hoping to solve the greatest mystery of his life. As a student in London five decades earlier, Kristofer had fallen in love with Miko, whose father owned the Japanese restaurant where they both worked. Little People, Big World has been a fan-favorite reality TV show for nearly two decades.
The series debuted in 2006 and chronicled the Roloff family’s unique situation.
Matt and Amy Roloff, who have since divorced, are little people who invited TLC’s cameras into their Oregon home to document their daily lives.
Matt and Amy have four children: Zach, Jeremy, Molly, and Jacob. Of those four, only Zach is a fellow little person (LP) like his parents.
The show followed the Roloffs as they navigated life in a world that caters to average-sized people and educated viewers about the ins and outs of living as an LP.
The show centered around the children in its early years. Still, once the children decided they weren’t interested in filming any longer, the storyline focused on Matt and Amy and their new significant others, Caryn Chandler and Chris Marek.

Gregor Fisher and Greg McHugh star in Scottish sitcom Only Child, and the BBC has released a first trailer. More here.
Gregor Fisher will always be inextracably intertwined with Rab C. Nesbitt, the permanently plastered Glaswegian festering in squalor alongside long suffering wife Mary Doll, played by Elaine C. Smith. The show became so popular that writer Ian Pattison adapted it into a stage show, and stars like Sylvester McCoy, Stanley Baxter and Richard E. Grant appeared in the show. Series 3 episode Touch features a very early television appearance by David Tennant, who guest stars as barmaid Davina.
As we approach the festive season, Fisher also features in arguably the sweetest story in Richard Curtis’ Love Actually, about the friendship between his character Joe and Bill Nighy’s rock star Billy Mack.
Now though? Gregor Fisher is returning to the small screen for sitcom Only Child.

For one who made his debut in 1981 through Endless Love, he found his breakthrough sooner than most – within two years – after starring in 1983’s Risky Business.

Since then, the majority of his career has been all merry for him as Cruise made his way through action flicks that launched him as the king of action. And yet, the actor’s lifestyle choices despite having brought to the table a film that made $800 million worldwide are so humble that even young industry starters like Glen Powell and Timothée Chalamet should learn a lesson from it.
Tom Cruise Reportedly Lives “Like a working-class actor”
