Reacher star Alan Ritchson is teaming up with Hollywood vet Owen Wilson for a new feature film. Capitalizing on Ritchson's recent success in the genre, the movie will naturaly be an action flick.

Per Deadline, Ritchson and Wilson are set to co-star in a new action drama film called Runner. The movie will be directed by Scott Waugh, known in part for directing the Need for Speed adaptation starring Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul. More recently, Waugh helmed Expend4bles, the fourth installment of the star-studded Expendables movie series. He also directed the 2023 action movie Hidden Strike with Jackie Chan and John Cena.

Breaking Bad and Fast & Furious might not seem like an obvious pairing, but when stars from both franchises collide, audiences are given a brand-new sci-fi horror movie, with a terrifying first synopsis. Eiza González (Hobbs and Shaw) and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) are both set to star in the upcoming movie Ash, produced by Rlje Films and Shudder. The movie was written by Jonni Remmler (Das Quartett), and directed by musician-turned-filmmaker Flying Lotus.

Per Variety, horror fans have gotten their first official look at Ash, as well as some juicy plot details. The film is set to release in theaters on March 21, 2025. The official synopsis reads:

"On the mysterious planet of Ash, Riya (Eiza González) awakens to find her crew slaughtered. When a man named Brion (Aaron Paul) arrives to rescue her, an ordeal of psychological and physical terror ensues while Riya and Brion must decide if they can trust one another to survive.

There can’t be any better stressbuster than playing your favorite racing game and overtaking all the competitors to earn the crown. Newcomers are probably not completely aware of EA’s one of the longest-running racing game series, Need for Speed, but this series has been running for thirty years. In this duration, EA has presented gamers with twenty-two outstanding installments, with the last one released in 2022.

The Need for Speed movie was Aaron Paul's first major project after the conclusion of the critically acclaimed Breaking Bad. While Paul's character on Breaking Bad, Jesse, was originally supposed to be killed off in the first season, plans were changed, and he was ultimately destined to star in all five seasons of the hit show. However, it doesn't seem like Paul was destined to star in more Need for Speed films, as a sequel to the racing movie has not been made.

Just a few days ago, we heard that Reacher star Alan Ritchson is teaming up with Need for Speed and Expendables 4 director Scott Waugh for an action thriller called Runner, and now Deadline reports that Ritchson has also signed on to star in an action film called Painter, which will team him with Prey star Amber Midthunder and John Wick writer Derek Kolstad. The project is set up at FilmNation Entertainment‘s production label Infrared, and FilmNation will be launching distribution sales at the upcoming American Film Market in Las Vegas.

Former stuntman Garrett Warren, who served as stunt coordinator on the likes of Logan, Avatar, Alita: Battle Angel, and Road House, will be directing the film. Although Warren is also attached to direct a true crime drama called One Man’s War, it looks like Painter will turn out to be his feature directorial debut.

The Reacher star will appear in Runner, another action flick in which the man mountain will play a high-end courier who is racing against the clock to deliver an organ to a young girl who is in dire need of a transplant. Of course, things go wrong when the mission which should be straightforward gets interrupted by the leader of a notorious crime syndicate who is determined that the organ will go to him. The movie will be directed by Scott Waugh, who has previously directed the high octane movies Need for Speed and Expendables 4. Ritchson is also producing alongside Todd Garner, Dan Spilo, Mark Fasano and Jeffrey Greenstein.

The Rotten Tomatoes score is in for Goodrich, and it seems to be extending a trend for Michael Keaton. The film follows Andy Goodrich (Keaton), a museum owner whose wife enters rehab, leaving him to care for their young twins alone. As he navigates modern parenthood, he relies on his daughter Grace (Mila Kunis) from his first marriage, ultimately becoming the father she never had. So far, the reviews for Goodrich have been generally positive, as it marks his first movie since Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, Goodrich currently holds a 70% score on their Tomatometer, based on 27 critic reviews. For many racing gamers, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, released in 2010, represents the pinnacle of the series. It was known for its exhilarating police chases and high-stakes racing, setting the standard for the series that many fans still hold dear to this day.

Micheal Keaton appears to have a bone to pick with the industry for turning his Oscar-nominated role in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s “Birdman (or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)” into his grand Hollywood comeback. Michael Keaton recently told GQ magazine that he wasn’t too upset when Warner Bros. scrapped the release of “Batgirl,” in which the actor reprised his iconic role of Batman opposite Leslie Grace in the title role. The studio shelved the film in August 2022 in a cost-cutting move. The $90 million-budgeted “Batgirl” was already shot and through post-production when the decision was made, which came as a shock to the industry. Variety reported that a tax incentive was a driving force behind the decision to kill “Batgirl.”

“No, I didn’t care one way or another. Big, fun, nice check,” Keaton said when asked if he was disappointed in the film’s axing. GQ notes that Keaton was also “rubbing his fingers together in the universal gesture for ‘moolah.'”

“I like those boys. They’re nice guys,” he added on a softer note about “Batgirl” directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

The highly anticipated “Sonic the Hedgehog” TV series spinoff, “Knuckles,” is here and it includes a smashingly great cast that’s ready to hit you with your favorite Sega characters.

The six-episode live-action series made its premiere on Friday, April 26. According to Paramount+, the series “follows Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.” The show takes place between the films “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” and “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” and was made by many of the same people involved in the films.

The series was created for television by John Whittington and Toby Ascher, who also serve as showrunners during production.
