Marvel Studios currently has numerous projects in the works, featuring both well-known and lesser-known comic book characters. This comes despite Disney CEO Bob Iger’s recent announcement to reduce the studio’s output to 2-3 films per year along with 2 live-action series.
Among the highly anticipated projects is ‘Nova,’ which has been in development for several years. Initially planned as a series, it was later shifted to a feature film but now seems to have reverted to its original series format.
Brad Winderbaum, head of animation at Marvel Studios, recently addressed speculation surrounding the development of the ‘Nova’ project. He confirmed that while the show is in development, a new system at Marvel means that not all projects in development will necessarily be released.
However, if recent rumors are to be believed, the show is progressing well. According to Productionlist, actors Xolo Maridueña and Tanner Gillman have reportedly been cast in the series.

Hulu has released an official trailer for “The Girl From Plainville” — a limited series inspired by the true story of Michelle Carter’s “texting suicide” case.
Based on Jesse Barron’s Esquire article of the same name, “The Girl From Plainville” dives into Carter’s (Elle Fanning) relationship with Conrad Roy III (Colton Ryan) and his following death, which led to her conviction of involuntary manslaughter.
“All he thought about was dying… I really just wanted to help him,” says Fanning’s Carter in the gripping trailer, which is full of unsettling text messages and moments both following and leading up to Roy’s death.
In addition to Fanning and Ryan, the series also stars Chloë Sevigny as Lynn Roy, Cara Buono as Gail Carter, Kai Lennox as David Carter and Norbert Leo Butz as Conrad Roy II.

The pandemic’s impact in halting TV productions and delaying airdates has kept many contenders from competing for Emmys this year, but it hasn’t kept the competition from being robust in all the major categories.
And in a different way, Covid has managed to make a number of big races even tougher. That’s because under current Emmy rules, fewer entries can mean fewer nominees — and in more than 40% of the acting categories, nine out of 21, this year’s field will have fewer nominees than last year.
That’s going to make things more difficult for lots of performers who might be on the bubble, from Jane Levy, Lena Waithe, Ralph Macchio, Kenan Thompson, Allison Janney and Maya Erskine in the lead comedy categories to guest contenders like Anya Taylor-Joy, Judi Dench, Morgan Freeman, Aziz Ansari, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Patrick Dempsey.

It’s a numbers game with “Saturday Night Live” at the Emmys this year. It’s going for its seventh Best Variety Sketch Series win, which would also be a five-peat, and it would just have to beat one other show to do it because the category will only have two nominees. Still with us here?
Due to the sliding scale, now in its second year, that stipulates the number of nominees be proportional to the number of submissions, Best Variety Sketch Series will only have two nominees as only nine shows were submitted. Any category with eight to 11 submissions will have two nominees. The category had three nominees last year. Both are a dramatic swing from 2016-19 when the category boasted six nominees.
Given its brand name and the fact that it’s the four-time defending champ, “SNL” feels like a shoo-in for one of those slots and likely...

Heatseeking indie distributor Decal has landed U.S. distribution rights to “Recovery,” a well-received comedy which played this year’s SXSW Film Festival.
From directors Mallory Everton and Stephen Meek, the road trip adventure follows two lost-soul sisters traveling across country to rescue their grandmother, whose nursing home suffers a Covid-19 outbreak. The project is described as “Booksmart” meets the Tom Hardy indie gem “Locke.” Everton co-stars and co-wrote the screenplay with Whitney Call.
Decal is plotting a hybrid theatrical and VOD release this fall. The film was produced by Sorø Films Production in partnership with BuzzFeed Studios. Scott Christopherson, Babetta Kelly and Abi Nielson Hunsaker served as producers.
“Recovery is our love letter to the world after the year we’ve all had, and we couldn’t imagine joining with a better team than BuzzFeed Studios, and now Decal. Their vision for indie film and the expertise they’re...

Two Sisters Go on a Road Trip to Save Grandma from a Nursing Home in the First Hilarious Covid Movie
Life is full of surprises. Just last March — to pick one random example that you might remember — the entire world shut down because a coronavirus decided that it didn’t want to live inside a bat anymore. What a twist! Aside from the many scientists who saw it coming and repeatedly tried to sound the alarm, literally no one saw it coming. And now, just a year after the Covid-19 pandemic slowed the planet to a standstill, we’re in for another system shock that might be even harder to swallow: Someone has managed to make a funny movie about it. Like, actually funny, and not just “I understand that reference about decontaminating groceries” funny or “I haven’t had human contact with anyone outside my home in over 12 months” funny or “I’m only laughing so that my brain is tricked into releasing the last drops of serotonin that...

In a world filled with superheroes, do the heroes get a day off? This comedy sketch from Studio C, which is called “Superman’s Day Off Disaster”, explores that possibility with Superman and it’s pretty amusing.
While enjoying his day off for some “me time” Clark Kent goes to the bank and while waiting in line the bank ends up being robbed. Since it’s his day off, Clark is reluctant to use his powers to stop the crime. He just wanted to enjoy his day off! As you might imagine things get a little awkward.
Check it out below and enjoy. Let us know what you think.

After 27 years of silence, Pennywise The Clown returns to terrorize the Losers Club as adults in this comedy sketch called “The Return of It”.
The sketch comes from Studio C and Pennywise is back with a vengeance as he’s updated his scare tactics. The question is… will the Losers Club be able to withstand them?
Just to give you a little taste of the horror that awaits the gang, one of the things that Pennywise does is take Ritchies phone and drops it in a public bathroom toilet.
I think this turned out to be pretty funny and I hope you get a kick out of it!
