Following the monumental success of last year’s The Beekeeper, action movie icon Jason Statham returns to the big screen this week with the equally brilliant-looking A Working Man. Well, we say “equally brilliant,” but based on the first reactions, the reunion of Statham and The Beekeeper’s David Ayer is sounding even better.
Beginning with X/Twitter user and critic @NextBestPicture, A Working Man finds Statham at his absolute best, with the "no-nonsense blockbuster” delivering nothing less than “relentless entertainment, packed with hard-hitting set pieces and a Statham performance that’s as fierce as it is grounded.”
“A Working Man is easily my favorite Jason Statham-led action film in quite some time. Leaps and bounds better than his last collaboration with David Ayer. While it may run a bit long, this blue-collar, no-nonsense blockbuster delivers relentless entertainment, packed with hard-hitting set pieces and a Statham performance that’s as fierce as it is grounded.

It’s official, y’all: Stephen Graham’s hit Hulu series A Thousand Blows has been renewed for a second season, and according to the announcement, we can expect a season 2 debut sooner than we expect.
The gritty crime series is a gem of a period piece that sucked audiences right into its narrative of ambition, violence, organized crime, and desire. Created by Steven Knight, of Peaky Blinders fame, A Thousand Blows is a bloody boxing drama set in mid-1800s London that is completely flawless and purely entertaining. While it may have started as a miniseries, it was renewed before the first season even aired, and season 2 was shot back-to-back with season 1.
Inspired by the true-life stories of a group of characters battling for survival in the brutal underground of Victorian London’s East End, the series follows Jamaican immigrants Hezekiah Moscow (Kirby) and Alec Munroe (Francis Lovehall) as...

“I think that we are going to reach close to €1Bn [$1.1Bn] of business in scripted next year,” Bassetti says in an exclusive interview. “From where we started to where we are today, we are the biggest European producer in scripted. We are happy about what we have done.”
The Banijay boss is referencing a European Audiovisual Observatory report that ranks Banijay as the top independent producer in Europe terms of number of titles with 53 for 2023 (the latest measurement period), and in terms of the number of countries productions are originated in, 11.

The only TV episode in history to hold a perfect 10/10 on IMDb(Photo Credit –YouTube)
Think of all the legendary TV episodes that you’ve seen, the ones that left you breathless, that had you pacing the room, that made you sit in stunned silence as the credits rolled. With so many masterpieces gracing our screens, it seems almost impossible that only one episode in television history has achieved a flawless 10/10 score on IMDb.
Several Iconic Shows But No 10/10
Even in the golden age of TV, where every other week a new ‘masterpiece’ drops, nothing else has quite managed to achieve perfection.

MGM+ has made it official and ordered The Westies crime drama from Narcos creator Chris Brancato.
The Peaky Blinders-esque period drama series about fearsome Irish gangs in New York will start production in Toronto in July 2025. Martin Scorsese captured a similar storyline in his 2002 film Gangs of New York, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Daniel Day-Lewis and followed the rise of Irish gangs and their power struggles with other criminal groups in the area around the Five Points neighborhood of lower Manhattan.
But rather than set The Westies in the late 19th century, like Scorsese’s film, Brancato has chosen a 1980s New York City backdrop for his MGM+ crime drama.
“We are thrilled to bring our viewers another provocative, exciting crime drama from the incomparable vision of Chris Brancato,” Michael Wright, head of MGM+ said in a statement on Tuesday. “Chris is a gifted showrunner who builds his stories...

Graham plays Eddie Miller, the father of 13-year-old Jamie Miller (newcomer Owen Cooper), who is arrested on suspicion of murdering one of his classmates, Katie (Emilia Holliday). An unflinching and continuously heartbreaking tale ensues as the family and the community affected by this brutal case are forced to pick up the pieces after the fallout. NCIS, co-created by Donald Bellisario and Don McGill, is one of the longest-running programs on television. But its origin goes much beyond its premiere in 2003. Although influenced by crime procedurals like Law & Order and CSI, the CBS thriller is hardly a by-product of those shows. Rather, it is a spin-off of a mid-90s military crime procedural, Jag, created by Donald Bellisario.

March 17 is...you guessed it, St. Patrick's Day. The day when Americans celebrate their Irish heritage. Yeah, it might be an important day elsewhere in the world, but Ireland does not celebrate in the same way.
That is fine because the great island has given us a lot of acting talent for a total population of just around seven million. The great actors per capita for the Irish are likely better than nearly any other populace. That means the culture is ripe to produce excellence.
Of course, not every wonderful actor from the Irish island (we are including Northern Ireland here as part of the complete island) has a film featured on Netflix. Several do, however. In fact, the actors below have more than one film streaming on Netflix, so there is a lot to watch on St. Patrick's Day.

The most recent drama released on Netflix has climbed up the streaming charts, and it currently sits in the number one spot of the streamer's most popular TV shows. Adolescence, starring Stephen Graham and Owen Cooper, was released only a few days ago, and so far, the drama miniseries has captivated audiences nationwide with its realistic depiction of the aftermath of a crime. The four-episode miniseries sits above Netflix originals like Running Point, Zero Day, reality series Temptation Island and true crime docuseries American Murder: Gabby Petito.
Adolescence was created by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham, and all episodes were directed by Philip Barantini. It takes place in real-time, and all four episodes are shot in a single take. It stars Graham and Cooper alongside Christine Tremarco, Ashley Walters, Erin Doherty, Faye Marsay, and Jo Hartley, among others.

Creator Steven Knight has sent a handful of characters into the bleak midwinter through every season of "Peaky Blinders," but even he admits that there were some he wished he could have kept around a little longer.
In an interview with Esquire during a live watch-along of the season 5 finale, the showrunner of the beloved period drama shared a few select names of stars he'd have preferred to have held on to. One name at the top of the list was Aberama Gold, played by Aidan Gillen. Appearing in season 4, the hitman hired by Tommy to eliminate Luca Changretta (Adrien Brody) became close with the Shelby family after getting engaged to Polly (Helen McRory), only to be stabbed to death during an ambush by the Ira. Looking back, Knight felt Gold was made of sterner stuff. "I should have kept [Aberama] alive; I could have just wounded him."

Daring to live a life like the one that Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) lives in "Peaky Blinders" virtually ensures that innocents will sometimes be caught in the crossfire. The second that Grace Burgess (Annabelle Wallis in the role that was hardest of all to cast) walked into The Garrison Pub, it was clear that these star-crossed lovers were doomed. The show's creator, Steve Knight, sent us down a heartbreaking road that led to one of the best "Peaky Blinders" episodes ever. A planned hit on Tommy at a party goes sideways, and Grace dies from a gunshot that wasn't meant for her.
In an Ama on Reddit, Knight confessed that while it shattered Tommy initially, the deed had to be done to ensure he could continue. The leader of the Shelby family finding a better life would've thrown the Peaky Blinders organization out of whack, and that's something that Knight just couldn't have.

When Christopher Nolan came up on stage to receive his first Golden Globe, he called actor Cillian Murphy (who would soon get up on stage to receive one for Best Actor) his partner-in-crime for twenty years. That says nearly everything about the relationship between the two stalwarts of their craft.
Nolan and Murphy have worked on six films over the past twenty years, beginning with, well as the name suggests, Batman Begins. While the ace filmmaker has worked with several genius actors of this generation such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, and Robert Downey Jr., he reportedly called Murphy the greatest of his generation.

A new Netflix crime series led by a Peaky Blinders star debuts with a rare 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. Producing original series since 2013, the streaming service is home to popular TV shows like Stranger Things, Squid Game, Wednesday, and Bridgerton. Netflix’s “The Leopard” is gaining global traction with viewers just as the streaming giant is taking the sumptuous Sicilian series on a tour involving gala presentations in Italian embassies and other institutions in Washington D.C., London, Berlin, Brussels and other world capitals.

Creator Steven Knight has something new to share in the form of A Thousand Blows. A dramatic expose of Victorian London circa 1880, featuring BAFTA-nominated actor Stephen Graham, alongside Malachi Kirby and Erin Doherty. This time the action is not based in Birmingham with the likes of Tommy Shelby but looks further south to London and Henry ‘Sugar’ Goodson. Bare-knuckle boxer, East London legend, and a man on the cusp of cultural change. Out on Hulu and already confirmed for Season 2, A Thousand Blows looks set to cement Steven Knight’s reputation as an international dramatist.
With sets that bring a real slice of Victorian London to life, Steven Knight runs with the idea Boiling Point’s Stephen Graham brought to him. Combining other elements, including Mary Carr and the 40 Elephants, which had been on the writer’s back burner for some time, he evokes this world with his words. When...

Like the title of its feature-length continuation, The Immortal Man, Peaky Blinders could live on for a while. Franchise creator Steven Knight hints the upcoming film is a "fitting end to the first chapter" of the Peaky Blinders' story, suggesting there could be more from the popular period drama.
Speaking with The Playlist's Bingeworthy podcast (via Entertainment Weekly), Knight was asked about The Immortal Man and whether the movie was the finale for the Peaky Blinders franchise or a part of bigger plans. Knight teased that the latter could be the case, stating he'd continue Peaky Blinders if the right story emerges. "As long as there's an appetite for it, and I've got stories to tell, then why not?" he said. These comments follow Knight's recent statements that Peaky Blinders would likely continue, though he could not announce any plans for the beloved franchise.

Co-directed by Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson, 2015’s “Anomalisa” told a walking nightmare of a story about a motivational speaker who perceives (almost) everyone he meets to be the same identical stranger. They all share the same face, they all speak with the same voice, and they all reflect the inescapable self-absorption of the main character, whose hell is that he can only see the world through the prism of his own two eyes.
“The Actor” — Johnson’s solo feature debut — is a similarly dream-like film about a man suffering from the exact opposite problem. His name is Paul Cole, he’s a rising star of the New York stage, and we’re first introduced to him on a dark and fateful night in the fictional town of Jeffords, Ohio, where his theater troupe has just performed their latest show. Paul takes a local gal to his hotel room for a nightcap,...

Creator Steven Knight has said that he hopes his Peaky Blinders movie will get a cinema release rather than go straight to Netflix.
Netflix and cinema releases aren’t two things that have traditionally mixed well in the past. Greta Gerwig is currently fighting to get her Narnia film a proper cinema release – not that cinemas seem too happy about Netflix’s deal with IMAX. The Russo brothers’ expensive The Electric State, by contrast, won’t enjoy the benefits of a huge screen and excellent sound.
Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, is now the latest filmmaker hoping to see his film on the big screen. Knight and director Tom Harper have been feverishly working on a Peaky Blinders movie, which wrapped production in December and is expected to be released later this year.
Speaking to The Playlist (via Variety), Knight reflected on his desire for Peaky Blinders to hit cinemas.

It’s Anya Taylor-Joy’s world. We are just living in it. Her latest film, The Gorge, recently became Apple TV+’s biggest launch. The streaming giant doesn’t normally disclose specific numbers, but exceptions tend to be made for Number 1, which was the case with the new flick. A recent report by Deadline reveals that the film has driven double-digit growth globally for the streaming service and boosted new viewership figures by over 80% since its debut on Friday, February 14. Impressive!
Taylor-Joy has been on a roll in the 2020s, wowing fans with her performances in Peaky Blinders, The Northman, Amsterdam, Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. She also did excellent work on The Menu, a movie that continues to soar, two years after its release. In February, the black comedy horror hit Netflix’s Top 10 chart in U.S., proving that quality never goes out of fashion.
