No it's nothing spectacular. But you're probably gonna smile the whole Wsup through. Parents and children can watch this and enjoy it as a family. And if that's not quality, Idk what is.
The first time I watched Christmas Bounty I laughed more than I thought I would. There were plenty of moments where it was just so bad. The acting can get bad with some of the actors, but the story is great. The Miz surprisingly does a great job at acting and the fighting. I enjoyed his chemistry with Francia Raisa. The funny thing is that this movie is hilariously bad, yet amazing. I found myself really enjoying it.
I would say to give it a try because either way you'll be laughing.
The movie Christmas Bounty is for those who like lots of action and for those who are 13 and older. Christmas Bounty has little to do with Christmas except it is happening during the Christmas season. It could be placed at any time of the year. There is no Christmas magic. The movie will also put a smile on your face during its comedic scenes. There is eye candy for both the guys and gals, mostly the guys as the lead and many of the supporting actresses are "hottie." The action in the film helps to maintain your involvement in the film. The movie would be enjoyed by adults without small children. Pop your bowl of popcorn or have pizza delivered for this film.
Watched it with a friend and his wife who like to make fun of bad movies. This film has the some things going for it in that its short, it didn't try to be smart in any way, and it knew what it wanted to be. And that is totally unoriginal, extremely watered down chick action movie. ABC Family has this weird guideline where cussing is not allowed, but light sexual innuendos are OK, it was kind of a weird balance. And no one gets shot either. Its like if there wasn't the sexual stuff this movie could be rated G. Also you better like Jersey. More than Christmas actually. Really this movie doesn't even mention Christmas, it just seems like something thats happening during the movie but they're too busy being Jersey. So being at they're from Jersey it makes everyone unlikable. And there's a pro wrestler playing the long lost love interest, and the main girl is falling back in love with him instead of her current boyfriend. But this guy looks like the biggest tool in the world, and no one wants to see that guy get the girl in the end. So thats a weird thing going on in the movie. And thats pretty much it. I could talk about the actual movie but there's really no point. But I got to say it didn't make me want to kill myself, which is a real testament to the movie. Movies are a dance, and sometimes it better to do the a good Hokey Pokey than f#$@ up the Waltz.
I came upon this one very randomly. I knew The Miz made some movies during the 2010s (The Marine 3 to 6 for instance) but i never heard about this one.
So where do i start? The movie is very short. It was made for TV and you can litterally see where the commercials are supose to be with those tv shows fade away sequences. It run at only 70 minutes or so.
Everyone in this seem to be a caricature, especially the parents of the main protagonist. Speaking of wich, Francia Raisa is absolutely stunning in this movie. I was not familiar with her. Guess ill have to see what else she done.
The movie overall is very watchable, but its so short that it seem to really just chain action scenes together and minimal plot advancement. The action is "ok". Nothing great but not terrible, exept that everyone shooting a gun seem to be a Storm Trooper in this.
Where the movie really missed for me is with the romance. The Miz character feel more like an afterthought and i felt 95% of the movie could happen without him and be just the same. I didn't find much chemistry between them at all. And the whole love triangle was poorly done.
As others said it seem to be more a movie happening during Christmas rather than a Christmas movie.
Aleks Paunovic is an overall charismatic actor that i enjoyed in many projects. Having his familiar face as the main bad guy is nice but the character itself is so poorly written and one dimensial that nobody could had made him that interesting.
You never get to know much about him. Simply that he is a bad guy, was arrested by Tory, and now he want payback after having escaped prison. You don't know what he does, why he got money to have so many goons, how he escaped and so on.
Basically this movie was probably written in 1 afternoon over a beer at a bar. Yet despite all of this its not "annoying to watch" or "so bad you want to turn it off". It let itself be watched ...once.
