AMC Networks is celebrating Native American Heritage Month with the launch of its Indigenous Stories collection and short films series.

The collection highlights television and film content created by and starring Indigenous creatives and talent from AMC Networks, such as the Zahn McClarnon-produced thriller series “Dark Winds” and the Emmy-winning documentary “Lakota Nation vs. United States.”

AMC has announced an extensive guest cast for Dark Winds Season 3, led by Jenna Elfman and Bruce Greewood.

The hit drama series has been renewed for Dark Winds Season 3.

A renewal was a no-brainer, with the cabler and its streaming sibling previously touting the show's continued success.

Dark Winds Season 2 averaged 1.7 million viewers during its first three days on the linear cable service.

Numbers for AMC+ have not been made available, but the network indicated that it had a strong footprint on the streaming service as the series aired.

Episodes were made available before their debuts on the service, so there was an incentive for fans to watch it earlier.

The return of AMC’s series Dark Winds has blown into town, offering its first trailer and key art.

Starring Zahn McClarnon (The Son, Westworld, Fargo), Kiowa Gordon (The Red Road, Roswell, New Mexico) and Jessica Matten (Tribal, Burden of Truth), the series second season is set for Sunday, July 30 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt on AMC, with new episodes airing weekly on Sundays.

Episodes will be available early on AMC+ starting Thursday, July 27, with new episodes every Thursday. Produced by AMC Studios, the second season has six episodes.

A Martinez (Longmire, Days of Our Lives) joins this season as Valencia County Sheriff Gordo Sena, while Joseph Runningfox (The Politician, Valley of the Gods) will portray Henry Leaphorn, Lt. Joe Leaphorn’s father.

Tom Sizemore, who starred in Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down and in hundreds of other film and TV roles over three-plus decades, died Friday at a hospital in Burbank. He was 61 and had been in a coma since suffering a stroke February 18 that resulted in brain aneurysm.

His manager Charles Lago confirmed the news this evening, saying Sizemore passed away peacefully in his sleep at St Joseph’s Hospital, with his brother Paul and twin boys Jayden and Jagger at his side.

Tom Sizemore, the talented, but troubled, actor who brought a tough guy bravado to films like Heat, Natural Born Killers and Saving Private Ryan, has died at the age of 61, Rolling Stone confirmed.

The actor died Friday after his family made the decision to remove him from life support at a Los Angeles-based hospital.

“It is with great sadness and sorrow I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (‘Tom Sizemore’) aged 61 passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph’s Hospital Burbank,” his manager Charles Lago...

Tom Sizemore, a veteran TV and movie actor, has been hospitalized after suffering a brain aneurysm.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sizemore was found at his Los Angeles home Sunday at around 2 a.m. unconscious after he suffered a medical emergency.

The outlet reports that he was transported to an L.A. hospital and is in the intensive care unit.

The actor's rep, Charles Lago, said that his family is "aware and waiting for updates" on his condition.

"He is currently in critical condition, and it's a wait-and-see situation," Lago said.

"There are no future updates at this time."

Sizemore was propelled to stardom for his portrayal of technical Sgt. Mike Horvath in the Award-winning World War II movie Saving Private Ryan.

He has built an impressive resume over the years, including Quentin Tarantino's Natural Born Killers.

Ben Wasserstein, who most recently served as SVP, original programing at HBO, is reuniting with his former HBO boss Richard Plepler. Wasserstein has signed an exclusive first-look deal with Plepler’s film and television production company Eden Productions. Based on the West Coast, he will develop new comedy and drama series, limited series and films for Eden’s exclusive multi-year deal with Apple TV+, working in conjunction with Heather Karpas who joined the company from ICM Partners in 2020.

“Ben is one of the most talented creative executives of his generation,” Plepler said. “I’m thrilled he’ll be bringing his superb eye for talent and material to Eden.”

Wasserstein joined HBO in 2016 as VP original programming and was subsequently promoted to SVP. During his tenure, he helped oversee the development and production of comedy series, such as Barry, The Rehearsal, Somebody Somewhere, Los Espookys, Avenue 5, Veep, Divorce, Sally4Ever and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

HBO’s Ben Wasserstein has inked an exclusive first-look deal with former HBO chairman and CEO Richard Plepler’s Eden Productions.

Wasserstein, who most recently served as HBO’s senior VP of Original Programming, has signed onto the three-year-old production company to develop comedy and drama series, limited series and films for Eden’s multiyear deal with Apple TV+.

Apple TV+ has given a straight-to-series order for “Chief of War,” from Jason Momoa.

The “Aquaman” and “Dune” actor will write, star and executive produce the “epic and unprecedented” eight-episode series, which tells the story of the colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view.

Momoa was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is of Native Hawaiian ancestry.

His previous TV credits include “Game of Thrones,” “Stargate: Atlantis” and “The Red Road.” He currently stars in Apple TV+’s sci-fi series “See.”

“Chief of War” is created and executive produced by Jason Momoa and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett and produced by Endeavor Content and Chernin Entertainment. AMC Networks has greenlighted Western noir thriller series Dark Winds, based on the popular Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman, for AMC and AMC+. Created and executive produced by Graham Roland (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), the series stars Zahn McClarnon (Westworld), who is also an executive producer, and and Kiowa Gordon as Navajo Tribal Police Officers Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee, respectively.

Executive producing the AMC Studios series are Game of Thrones author George R.R. The central plot of the recent HBO Max sci-fi program is the brainchild of several producers, including Aaron Guzikowski, who recently joined a Gold Derby Meet the Experts TV Showrunners panel (watch the exclusive video interview above).

Of his fellow producer, creator and directing legend Ridley Scott, he reveals, “It’s been quite a dream, actually; much more than I even could have hoped for. He’s become a mentor to me. He directed the first two episodes but has been intimately involved in the whole production… When it comes to story, he’ll defer to me in terms of the grand plan for the whole thing. When it comes down to execution, I defer to him. He’s Ridley Scott!”

Snowpiercer Season 2 will arrive Monday, January 25 at 9/8c.

A new revolution is afoot in the Season 2 teaser for Snowpiercer, which is returning with new episodes sooner than you probably imagined.

TNT announced on Thursday at the virtual New York Comic Con panel that Season 2 of its post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller, based on the 2013 film and the novel of the same name, will premiere on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 at 9/8c.

On the heels of Raised By Wolves‘ successful debut on HBO Max, the streamer has signed an overall deal with Aaron Guzikowski, the the sci-fi series’ creator/executive producer.

Raised By Wolves, which already has been renewed for a second season, wrapped its Season 1 run on HBO Max last week. WarnerMedia’s fledgling streamer unveiled at the time of the renewal last month that Raised By Wolves has been its top-performing original, growing its audience in the second week by nearly 50%.

Executive produced and directed by Ridley Scott, Raised by Wolves centers on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.

Raised by Wolves Season 2 is officially confirmed for the proverbial pack that is HBO Max’s ongoing content lineup.

Indeed, just two weeks after the September 3 premiere of the epic, stylistically-driven sci-fi drama on the premium cable channel’s streaming offshoot, a second season of Raised by Wolves has been ordered, with the WarnerMedia company citing a 50% audience growth for the show’s second week. The series is the creation of writer Aaron Guzikowski, who wrote screenplays such as Dune remake director Denis Villeneuve’s directorial breakthrough, Prisoners, and the 2017 Papillon remake, and also created the 2014-2015 Jason Momoa-starring crimes series, The Red Road. However, the initial hype for the series was anchored to the involvement of genre great Ridley Scott, who directed and executive-produced a duo of episodes.

The new HBO Max series “Raised by Wolves” is hard to forget. Even if it turns out not to be your cup of tea, Aaron Guzikowski and Ridley Scott‘s combined vision is one of the most original sci-fi productions in recent memory. If you watch the trailers, in which the android Mother (Amanda Collin) tells her pack of human children the story of The Three Little Pigs, the punchline is that she herself is the Big Bad Wolf: both nurturing the future of the human race on a distant planet, yet willing to kill anyone who would threaten their makeshift family—including, potentially, any runts of the litter.

While the trailer offers nary a hint of religion, it more than makes up for it with its forbidding retelling of “The Three Little Pigs” fable — it’s more intense than that statement suggests — and brief shots of terrifying violence and visceral action. It’s still unclear if “Raised By Wolves” will be full of edge-of-your seat intensity that defined “Gladiator” and Scott’s “Alien” films,...

The Walking Dead actor and former firefighter Dango Nguyen has died following his battle with cancer. 

He was 48. 

Nguyen appeared in several episodes of The Walking Dead Season 3 under his stage name Dango Nu Yen. He played a guard who worked for The Governor on the hit AMC drama series. 

He followed up that series with roles in other shows like Banshee, The Red Road, and more recently, Star. 

His other TV credits include The Originals, MacGyver, Lodge 49, and Meet the Browns.

On The Originals, in particular, Nguyen had two roles. He first appeared on The Originals Season 1 as a Daywalker, part of Marcel's inner circle. 

He returned for The Originals Season 4 as Inadu's Father in a flashback-heavy installment. 

Before he began his acting career, Nguyen served as a firefighter in the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department in Georgia. 

He served for almost 20 years.

“Saturday Night Live” has set its hosts for the final three episodes of 2018: Claire Foy, Jason Momoa and Matt Damon.

Foy, who will host on Dec. 1, the first episode back for the NBC late night sketch series after a week off for the Thanksgiving holiday, stars in “First Man” as astronaut wife, Janet Armstrong. For the last two years, she also starred on Netflix’s royal family period drama, “The Crown,” for which she won a lead actress Emmy in September. She will be joined by musical guest Anderson .Paak, who is making his “SNL” debut in the episode.

Momoa, who will host on Dec. 8, is currently best known as Aquaman from “Justice League” and his upcoming standalone film. Previously, he starred on television series including “Game of Thrones,” “The Red Road” and “Frontier.” Mumford & Sons will return for their third appearance as musical guest during Momoa’s episode.
