Hugh Grant is known to not be the biggest fan of his past movies, but he has specific issues with his character in the 1999 rom-com Notting Hill.

The actor recently partook in Vanity Fair’s “Scene Selection,” where he shared why he thinks his character William Thacker is “despicable.” Grant stars opposite Julia Roberts in the film.

“Whenever I’m flicking the channels at home after a few drinks and this comes up, I just think, ‘Why doesn’t my character have any balls?'” he said. “There’s a scene in this film where she’s in my house and the paps come to the front door and ring the bell and I think I just let her go past me and open the door. That’s awful.”

The rom-com classic, directed by Roger Michell, sees famous actress Anna Scott (Roberts) fall in love with William, the owner of a bookstore in Notting Hill.

Mumbai, May 1 (Ians) Actress Ella Rubin, who is gearing up for the release of her streaming movie ‘The Idea of You’, has shared that Michael Showalter, the director of the film, was her comedy hero while she was growing up.

The actress recently spoke to Ians ahead of the release of her movie. Since her debut with ‘The Rewrite’, Ella has been very selective about the kind of films she chooses to work in although she has many shows to her credit.

Anna Kendrick has revealed the first look photo of herself in full costume from the upcoming movie Noelle, which was previously known as Nicole. We reported in January that the actress was being eyed for this Christmas comedy, and now production is under way in Vancouver. The photo reveals the actress as the title character, Santa Claus' daughter, in her full Christmas outfit, standing outside what appears to be a bar.

Disney has had a truly staggering amount of success over the last year at the box office and interestingly enough, a lot of that still has to do with their original movies. Florence Foster Jenkins to screen in Zurich.

British actor Hugh Grant is to receive the Golden Icon Award at this year’s Zurich Film Festival (Sept 22-Oct 2), where his latest feature Florence Foster Jenkins is set to be screened.

Grant, known for romantic comedies such as Four Weddings and a Funeral and Notting Hill, will accept the lifetime honour on Sept 27 at Zurich’s Corso Cinema. Previous recipients include Diane Keaton, Hugh Jackman, Richard Gere and last year Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Grant will also present his latest film, Stephen Frears’ comedy drama Florence Foster Jenkins, in which he stars opposite Meryl Streep. Pathé Films is releasing the film in Switzerland.

Ahead of its premiere next week at the Fantasia International Film Festival, it has been announced that Image Entertainment has acquired Us rights to release A Christmas Horror Story:

Time flies. Believe it or not, we’re now three full months into the 2015 movie calendar, which means we’re literally a quarter of the way through the film slate. Hugh Grant, king of romantic comedies, is back on the big screen this weekend for another round of love and laughs in The Rewrite.

The British star's role in the new rom-com is his first movie since 2012, and that’s no accident.

"I've always been half running away from show business and I'm delighted when I'm not doing any acting," says Grant.

One thing is for sure: I can’t wait for Geoff and Scott to review The Rewrite on the Broken Projector podcast. This upcoming rom-com is about an Oscar-winning screenwriter who is no longer a hotshot and so desperately has to take a job teaching the craft jadedly to college students. The irony is that the screenplay for The Rewrite itself seems awfully bland. Richard Dreyfuss and Orphan Black‘s Tatiana Maslany star in Cas & Dylan, the feature directorial debut from Jason Priestley. Entertainment One has taken all U.S. rights on the Canadian pic which sees Dreyfus as a dying doctor whose plans to check out on his own terms take a reluctant detour when he inadvertently winds up on the lam with an anything-but-normal 22-year-old girl. Produced by Montefiore Films, Cas & Dylan is written by Jessie Gabe (Mr. D, Being Erica). Breakthrough Entertainment acquired distribution rights to Cas & Dylan in 2013 and the eOne deal was brokered by Breakthrough’s Tim Brown and eOne’s Berry Meyerowitz.

Gone Girl has topped the UK box office for the second consecutive weekend.

The David Fincher-directed thriller, starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, earned £3 million to secure first place ahead of Ya adaptation The Maze Runner.

Gone Girl has now earned more than £9 million from UK cinemas alone, adding to the $130 million the movie has earned from cinemas worldwide.

Annabelle and One Direction concert film Where We Are are both new entries in the UK chart at numbers three and four respectively.

Dracula Untold rounds out the top five.

Elsewhere, Hugh Grant's new romantic comedy The Rewrite is the only other new release to enter the chart. The film earned £324,889 to come in at number nine.

There's a moment in The Rewrite when a nostalgic Keith Michaels (Hugh Grant) heads to YouTube to relive his Academy Awards winners' speech for screenwriting. It's an archive clip of Grant himself picking up a prize, he's floppy-haired, charming and reminds you of just how good he was back in the Notting Hill height-of-fame era.

There have, of course, been great roles for Grant since then. 2002's About a Boy represents a career high, while the criminally-underseen Cloud Atlas saw him in chameleon mode, switching effortlessly between six different characters.

The Rewrite is Grant's fourth starring role for Marc Lawrence (putting the filmmaker in Richard Curtis territory in terms of collaborations), but when their last outing was Did You Hear About the Morgans?, you can guess where this one is going.

Hugh Grant has said that he dislikes the majority of the films he has appeared in.

The actor, who plays the lead in upcoming romantic comedy The Rewrite, told The Mirror that he turns down the majority of work he is offered now.

"Nowadays I pretty much turn everything down anyway, because I just feel too old. Certainly for romantic comedy and certainly for showbusiness in general. Occasionally, they wheel me out."

The actor, who was speaking at the world premiere of The Rewrite, added that he does not consider his new film to be strictly a romantic comedy.
