Warning: Contains spoilers for Zatanna: Bring Down the House #2!
Zatanna uncovers her father's ties to a mystical society in a visually stunning comic atmosphere. The society's design pays homage to the film Metropolis, making it visually appealing and perfect for a big screen adaptation. James Gunn's new DC Universe movies focus on gods, monsters, and perhaps even magic if he makes Zatanna's story part of the franchise.
In the world of DC Comics, it's not just superheroes with capes that exist, but magicians and sorcerers and secret societies. One of these newly-introduced societies is an ancient magical cult that Zatanna stumbles into, and it's like nothing fans have ever seen before, which is exactly why I think it would fit perfectly into the new DC Universe movies that James Gunn is creating.

Sharmin Segal Reacts To Allegations Of Being Rude Towards Heeramandi Co-Stars(Photo Credit –Instagram)
Sharmin Segal is basking in the success of Heeramandi, which is among the Top 10 trending TV shows on Netflix. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the 28-year-old was seen portraying the character of Alamzeb. Unfortunately, the actress has been accused of ill-treatment towards her co-stars. Scroll below for all the details!
As most know, Sharmin is the niece of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She was brutally trolled over her allegedly ‘expressionless’ portrayal in the period drama series. Don’t get too hot and bothered over the title of the new Norwegian film Sex. The act itself in this first entry in a new trilogy from writer-director Dag Johan Haugerud is really only just talked about in this intriguing movie mostly dependent on leaning into its main characters’ words and descriptions, not a whole lot of visual information. Winner of the Europa Cinemas Label as Best European Film in the Panorama section of the current Berlin Film Festival, where it had its world premiere this week, Haugerud has announced this as this first of three films — Sex, Dreams, and then Love — featuring the same cast and dealing overall with themes of desire, identity and freedom, not to mention sexuality and the place of gender in our lives and society. This first stand-alone film also leans heavily into masculinity in ways it is not normally discussed by guys, but...

Sex, a provocative and candid look at constricting gender roles by Norwegian director Dag Johan Haugerud, has won the Europa Cinemas Label as best European film in the Panorama section of the 2024 Berlin Film Festival.
Jan Gunnar Roise and Thorbjorn Harr star in Sex as two married and ostensibly heterosexual chimney sweeps whose experiences lead them to question their supposedly fixed sexual and gender identities. The film was a critical hit in Berlin, with The Hollywood Reporter comparing its “gentle subversiveness” of the male character study to Joachim Trier’s twist on the traditional rom-com in the Oscar-nominated The Worst Person in the World. [Coincidentally, Worst Person in the World breakout Renate Reinsve was one of the big stars of the Berlinale this year, with two films in competition.]
The Europa Cinemas jury praised Sex as “fresh, original, and, above all, great fun,” adding: “Yes, it is a talky film, but we feel strongly that the open...

Welcome to Sales to Astonish, a new column in association with comics retailer The Unreality Store, in which Matthew De Monti brings us news on comic sales and the general moves in the comic market over the past month or so!
To start the Year in Review I’ll start with looking at sales by product type and then touch upon some general themes at the end.
Marvel Comics
2023 for me has undoubtedly been all about Marvel with back issue sales accounting for around 60% of the year’s sales. I’ve been staggered by the continued demand for Marvel back issues, especially titles from the late 80’s and early 90’s that I can remember hitting the shelves. Many of these issues, especially the likes of X-Men and Spiderman had print runs into the hundreds of thousands every month so you would think that there is an abundance of copies out there.

The last two episodes of Label hastily concluded the gory saga where Prabhakaran tried to save two educated men from Vaali Nagar despite their adamance about choosing the world of crime. Prabhakaran had tried everything to get Ayya out in the open, and it seemed that his colleague Ranga had finally found out who Ayya was. But Ranga was murdered, and Prabhakaran had to figure out a different tactic. He had filed 167 cases against Ayya, which was enough for the judge to put pressure on the police to find Ayya. The police just had a fingerprint to go by, and Prabhakaran knew what he had to do next amidst Bunk Suresh and Sengutttuvan’s ‘Label Wars’.

The main issue so far in the series titled Label was that Prabhakaran had helped Veera and Kumar, the men from Vaali Nagar, thinking that they could be reformed. But they had turned into vicious killers and joined the Ayya Label. Now, the main issue is that Veera and Kumar think Prabhakaran is their ‘guardian angel’ when the truth is that he has taken up the mantle to finish all the Labels. The seventh episode of Label deals with the ‘hows’ and ‘whys’ of Prabhakaran’s resolve, with the threat to his life looming large. Prabhakaran’s colleagues were called in to fill his shoes in the cases where he refused to fight for the Ayya Label. His other task was to locate the boys from the 20-year-old case where Nagendran, aka Pathaalam, had killed a police officer, and young Prabhakaran was caught up in the case unnecessarily. Now that Pathaalam was dead,...

The sixth episode of Label worked on the principle of giving its protagonist some breathing space after putting him in a hell of a lot of trouble. Prabhakaran was arrested in the previous episode, and it seemed like his days of being a lawyer were over. But through some interesting legal work, he found a way to bounce back and put Arul Kumaran under pressure. Prabhakaran was still unaware of his father’s link with the label, and in an attempt to get his case quashed, he inadvertently helped Veera and Kumar get out of jail. Senguttuvan got an electric introduction, and the episode showed us how he was burning with the desire to avenge Pathaalam. The cliffhanger tantalizingly left us yearning to know who Ayya is, who was the phantom figure holding all of the strings in his label. Here is a detailed recap of Label episode 6.

Label is turning out to be a riveting series, with its hard-hitting narrative about crime and the corruption rampant in the justice system. Its characters remind me of great gangster classics, but the filmmaking style doesn’t just depend on the grim reality of its premise; it brings a slick action thriller vibe to the series, which makes it even more entertaining. The previous three episodes set up the characters and the conflict pretty nicely, and now the fourth episode ups the ante, and we find our protagonist in real trouble this time around. The fourth episode delves deeper into the inter-gang politics and introduces yet another character, Arul Kumaran, who seems to be a fierce and corrupt cop working for Sengutuvvan.

The Tamil-language series Label is a gory portrayal of the gangster saga of North Chennai. Director Anuraja Kamaraja brings style and substance to a show that raises a very important issue: that of your roots and the identity one gets from them. The series revolves around a lawyer named Prabhakaran, who was once wrongfully implicated in a murder case while he was a juvenile. Years later, he studied hard to become an excellent lawyer who focused especially on bringing justice to those who were being wrongfully persecuted. Meanwhile, he was also trying to improve the image of the region he hails from—a grim area of North Chennai known as Vaali Nagar, where juveniles were groomed by two rival gangs, a practice rampant in the present day as well; all this in exchange for a tag, otherwise called the Label.

Tamil actor Jai’s upcoming legal-drama-vigilante-action-thriller series ‘Label’ sees him go Daredevil mode to fight for the law by breaking. A fight to break free of labels, according to Jai ‘Label’ closely examines the hardships people have to face to break away from “society-imposed labels”.
Talking about the series and his character in it, Jai said: “An exciting script lets you be adventurous as an actor. I got that opportunity with ‘Label’. My character in this action drama is someone who makes you think and digress.
“It was a steep learning curve for me to get ready to play this character as the series looks closely at how challenging it can be to break away from society-imposed labels on a person. I can’t wait to see how viewers react to this new avatar when the series releases,” he added.

Renowned music composer Sam C.S has released the new track for actor Jai’s new vigilante-thriller-legal-drama series ‘Label’. Titled ‘Arikki Murikki’, the song is a very ingenious blend of folk, classical, and film music.
While Jai is going to be more in the style of Daredevil from Marvel comics as a lawyer and vigilante in the film, ‘Arikki Murikki’ doesn’t reflect that much. Whether you understand the language or not it makes little difference, because the vibe coming from the track is peppy and yet somewhat ominous, making it rather suspense filled.
The intro feels very threatening in the same vein as a lot of Tamil action movies and serials, as it is usually created out by similar instrumentation which usually leads to a buildup to some kind of action or murder.
While it starts off like this, the composition takes a very weird turn as it soon becomes rather positive,...

Tamil actor Jai’s upcoming legal-action-vigilante-thriller series ‘Label’ has released another trailer, this time showcasing both the actor going full on Daredevil while also showcasing its violence, as well as its morose nature, as the lawyer takes the fight to the mob.
The trailer reveals a new side to the series, as this time it isn’t just focused on Jai but rather the villains he faces both legally and ‘illegally’. At this point, the trailer pretty much confirms that the series is very much a masala style vigilante thriller.
But the violence in the series is more than what was expected because instead of the typical fashionable gangster like violence, the mob is much more grounded and rather than guns they use cleavers and knives to stab people to death.
While Jai on the one hand is focusing on breaking the labels, there is some underlying mockery of the...

The trailer of Tamil cinema star Jai’s upcoming web series ‘Label’, directed by Arunraja Kamaraj, shows him as a vigilante lawyer. In this avatar, Jai gets into Daredevil mode. A thoughtful socio-political film, the series is also dark, bleak, action-packed, thrilling, and pretty violent. A man fighting to find his own identity by breaking past the labels, tags, and norms that society has imposed on him, the story is largely a mystery though the ‘Subramaniapuram’ star is fighting the ills of society both legally, and illegally.
A man who is downtrodden from birth, Jai’s character is a man who struggles to break free and decides to become a man of his own making. The series, while not a legal-drama does incorporate certain elements from the genre.
Most specifically, the show focuses on Article 20 of the Indian Constitution, which provides protection for those accused of crimes. There is also...

Tamil star Jai is gearing up for his new upcoming web-series ‘Label’, which is a socio-political-thriller series. The show which is getting its trailer real soon has released a very theatrical new announcement poster for the show. The poster shows the ‘Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah’ actor in a black suit, similar to the one worn by lawyers as he is carrying a briefcase in his hand while extending his hand out, almost as if reaching for something, in what appears to be like a philosophical allegory for him trying to grab his future.
All the while reaching out for the thing he seeks, he is escaping as many hands from below are trying to grab him, trying to pull him down and throw him to the ground.
The trailer for the show will unveil much more, though ‘Label’ had released its teaser a while back. Poised as a psychological-socio-political-drama, the show...
