Ambitious TV Movie

I watched this movie after hearing some good reviews, mostly on football related websites but it doesn't warrant these plaudits in my opinion.

The main reason is that it falls into every cliché we've seen a thousand times in movies dealing with immigrants: unwelcoming officials, a lost boy, a kind soul to help him out... the same can be said of the sports part of the movie with the usual road to the final fare.

Yes it does give a bit more insight into the way the system works but nothing you couldn't learn in an article or news report so it's definitely not breaking new ground on that point.

The football part is the most disappointing though, it's underdeveloped (we see less than 10 minutes in 90 minutes) and anyone who plays the game half-seriously can see that neither Mitri or his teammates are that good which seriously lessens the credibility of the whole story.

All in all a movie that had a point to make, and didn't go much further than making without any subtlety.
