Stalkers

Why did I enjoy it?

1. The two leads, Wilbert Ross and Rose Van Ginkel, play their parts as if it's a drama. Both are very talented actors. They are skilled at letting the story and the script deliver the laughs -- while the supporting characters provide occasional over-the-top, off-the-wall humor.

2. The supporting actors are great: Mark Anthony Fernandez, Chloe Jenna, Rash Flores, Yayo Aguila, Millen Gal, and especially Gwen Garci.

3. But the real star of this show is the scriptwriter/director, Easy Ferrer. He writes it in first person narrative via Harry (Wilbur Ross). It's 2/3 in Tagalog and 1/3 in English, so it's a must to use closed caption, or else you'll miss so much of the humor. Solid humor from start to finish.

4. The story: Harry is a nobody IT worker who fantasizes about being a superhero and fantasizes about co-worker Paula (Millen Gal's character). He suffers from low self-esteem due to his vitiligo (skin pigment condition) and the severe verbal abuse he took from his parents while growing up.

5. As the title suggests, stalking is involved in the story, but no spoilers from me.

6. While it's primarily a comedy, it's also an erotic thriller with a femme fatale element, although the thriller part doesn't develop until the 3rd episode.

7. As with many Vivamax Productions, there's lots of hardbody nudity and the participants deliver with all-out effort. Good camera work. For the first 15 minutes of the series, one might think this is a typical Vivamax flick. Hang it there, as it will hook you by the end of the episode.

8. Too bad the U. S. studios aren't producing series like this.
