Maybe, a film deserving many critics. I do not know. Because, being a religious film, evoking the struggle to conquest peace and comfort with yourself, a testimony about the truth behind one of the most familiar Christian hymns, it is unfair to look for more than what the genre proposes in many cases - a simple story of faith.

Working exactly for the inspired frame of good pastor saving the boy by punishment and confessing to him the events of his youth.

Good acting, soft exposed emotions, nice moral, maybe, too forced end about legacy of John Newton.

But a beautiful film. For message. And ot only.
