Awful 'versus' game modes with very small arenas, a mess of what's happening on display and with useless hero's abilities. Regional divisions as stupid as it can be, i choose my country and wait match for 5 mins, change region on Germany and found match in 30 secs. Why regions are divided by country, not like "Western europe", "eastern" etc. I think many peoples can delete the game at this point.
Boring solo missions, nothing to do there, ether nothing to say.
The game was supposed to be an answer to splatoon, but it looks like steam early access, and must die in early access, not as Sony exclusive. I regret the wasted time and SSD resource.

Plot
A 4v4 party shooter where players will battle it out with foam
Cast
Made by Square Enix, and that just breaks my heart.
Verdict
There's no shortage of low life expectancy free multiplayer games on consoles (And PC) these days. Small communities, a wealth of microtransactions, very little actual content and the community pretty much flatlines within 3-6 months.
Foamstars is essentially one of those but made by an incredible studio, alas the game itself is no different from what you'd expect. Scantily clad girls, anime style and foam guns for some reason! The gimmick, well that's it basically. Different types of foam firing weapons, the ability to stack the foam to make platforms and the usual array of pvp modes.
Colorful and fast paced, but everything else is uninspired and entirely un-engaging.
Rants
You know the sad thing is that I've actually quite enjoyed a few of these types of "Throwaway" multiplayer game but there is zero point in getting invested as the servers will either be dead or turned off in a few months. Sadly we have such a wealth of options the gamer base is spread too thin, combine that with peoples non-existent attention span and such games don't stand a chance.
Breakdown
Some passable visuals Very bland Not much content Really is a "Throwaway" game.

I went into it pretty open-minded, and have so far been impressed. Each character plays different, the matches are fast-paced, the music is pretty good, and overall it's a pretty chill game. It's the epitome of a casual game. Whether you're solo or with friends, it's a pretty fun game. Not a masterpiece, sure, but it didn't have to be.
