A brand-new clip for ‘Alien: Earth’ just dropped! This upcoming series is set to hit Hulu this summer, bringing the eerie world of the Alien franchise right to our screens. If you’re like me, you’re already counting down the days to dive into this sci-fi horror adventure.

The show comes from Noah Hawley, the creative mind behind ‘Fargo’ and ‘Legion.’ It’s his take on the Alien universe, and he’s promising something fresh yet familiar.

‘Alien: Earth’ is a prequel, set about 30 years before the original 1979 ‘Alien’ film that started it all. This time, the action unfolds on our planet, a big shift from the space-bound terror we’re used to. Hawley’s got a knack for blending tension and storytelling, so I’m expecting a wild ride.

A mysterious spacecraft crashes on Earth, and a young woman named Wendy, played by Sydney Chandler, teams up with a rough-and-tough group of soldiers.

Emmy-nominated The Handmaid’s Tale and Fargo helmer Mike Barker will direct the first three eps and also EP the high-profile MGM Television-produced series, which has been in the works for a while and is nearing greenlight. Other directors are yet to be revealed.

British director Barker has helmed 12 eps of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, recognized with two Emmy noms. His other credits include ITV hit Broadchurch, Fargo and David Duchovny-starring Prime Video thriller Malice, which launches later this year.

Bruce Miller’s Testaments series is one of the hottest TV shows percolating at present. The Handmaid’s Tale sequel has cast Presumed Innocent‘s Chase Infiniti as one of the three leads, joining Ann Dowd, who had been expected to reprise her Emmy-winning role as Lydia, and Lucy Halliday (Blue Jean). Like the Church potluck to which Amziah King introduces his one-time foster daughter Kateri, The Rivals of Amziah King is a gleeful mashup of genres and tones blending bluegrass music, comedy, revenge, and heist-thriller elements into a tasty homestyle buffet full of eccentric characters and thick Southern accents. It’s a strong follow-up to the promise Andrew Patterson displayed in his resourceful debut feature The Vast of Night––even when this mash-up seems a little uneven and indulgent, with a heavy use of formal techniques, from slow-motion to ironic music.

In large part this film’s success stems from its leads: Matthew McConaughey as King, channeling the look and energy of Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the U.S.A. era, and Angelina LookingGlass as Kateri. They reconnect and King takes her under his wing, providing lessons about his beekeeping profession that double as the kind of life advice he never gave her.

At this time last year, few likely had heard of Richard Gadd or Jessica Gunning, and the term “baby reindeer” didn’t immediately call to mind a harrowing exploration of sexual abuse and codependency. Yet, within a month, Baby Reindeer became one of last year’s most widely seen shows, and when the Emmy Awards announced its winners in the limited series and movie categories in September, Gadd, Gunning, and Baby Reindeer won. That’s illustrative of how quickly fortunes can change in the limited series race, which typically resets each season (save for an anthology series like Monsters or Fargo). New casting information has just been revealed for the Prison Break offshoot that's in the works at Hulu. The project has a pilot that's currently being put into development, though the reboot hasn't yet been officially ordered to series.

Per Variety, the new Prison Break pilot has cast Emily Browning (American Gods), Lukas Gage (Dead Boy Detectives), and Drake Rodger (Landman) in major roles. While the show is set in the same universe as the original Prison Break, it was expected that it would follow a new cast of characters, and these additions mark the first names to be attached to the project. It's not yet clear if any original Prison Break actors will be making special appearances, but more casting information is likely to soon be released with actors starting to sign on for the pilot.

The “Prison Break” reboot pilot at Hulu has added three series regulars, Variety has learned.

Emily Browning, Lukas Gage, and Drake Rodger have all been cast in leading roles in the pilot, which was originally announced in December. As previously reported, the pilot is set in the same world as the original “Prison Break” but will tell a new story with new characters. Exact plot details are being kept locked up.

Browning stars as Cassidy Collins, described as “an ex-soldier turned corrections officer takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America.” Gage will play Jackson in the pilot, said to be “a politician from a well-to-do background in his first congressional campaign.” And Rodger will play Tommy, “an inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America, incarcerated ten years ago.”

The first trailer for the Steve Buscemi-led black comedy Psycho Therapy: The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided to Write About a Serial Killer has been released. Directed by Turkish filmmaker Tolga Karaçelik in his English-language debut, the film follows John Magaro (Past Lives) as Keane, a writer whose crumbling marriage to Suzie (Britt Lower) is further complicated by his years-long struggle to complete a book about serial killers. His luck takes a bizarre turn when he meets Kollmick (Buscemi), an ex-murderer who offers to mentor him in the finer points of homicide.

The newly released trailer for Psycho Therapy shows things spiral further out of control when Suzie mistakes reformed serial killer Kollmick for their new marriage counselor (via Brainstorm Media). Psycho Therapy is set to premiere in New York theaters on April 4. The film will also star Ward Harton, Olli Haaskivi, and Lower's Severance co-star Sydney Cole Alexander.

Jon Hamm wonders how life can go so wrong so fast in Apple TV+’s trailer for Your Friends and Neighbors. Hamm stars as a divorced dad who loses his job and turns to robbing his rich neighbors’ houses to get by.

Four years have gone by since it was announced that Edgar Wright was coming on board to direct a new take on the novel The Running Man, which was written by Stephen King under his Richard Bachman pen name. The Running Man was, of course, previously turned into a film back in 1987 that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and had little to do with the source material. Last year, Wright’s take on the material went into production with Glen Powell of Top Gun: Maverick, Hit Man, and Twisters in the lead role – and during a recent interview, Wright described the film as “the deadliest game of hide and seek.”

King’s novel has the following description: It was the ultimate death game in a nightmare future America. The year is 2025 and reality TV has grown to the point where people are willing to wager their lives for a chance at a billion-dollar jackpot.

"The Simpsons" is one of the best TV shows in history, and certainly one of the most influential. It's an American institution that changed both animated comedy and animation on TV forever. It also set a standard for how to build a lived-in fictional television universe, creating a large ensemble of side and background characters (like Harry Shearer's Dr. Marvin Monroe) that make Springfield feel like a living place.

For over 35 years, "The Simpsons" has delivered half-hour episodes of television that are heartfelt, outrageous, and hilarious. The show has also commented on and lampooned both contemporary sociopolitical issues and pop culture in all its forms, whether it's anime, indie film darlings, or classic horror stories. Indeed, it seems no movie, TV show, or book out there is safe from being parodied by "The Simpsons," just as there's seemingly nary a famous person who can avoid eventually paying a visit to Springfield.

Believe it or not, once upon a time, Robert Pattinson was not considered a top-notch actor. Sad but true! Famous filmmaker Bong Joon Ho, best known for his Oscar-winning movie Parasite, has revealed a surprising idea—he wants to make an Alien movie, but as a musical.

In a recent interview, Bong mentioned that he doesn’t usually like franchise films, but if he had to make one, he would love to create a unique version of Alien. Then, with his usual dry humor, he added, “An Alien musical.”

I’m not drawn to franchise films, but I did think at one point that I would like to do an ‘Alien’ film, an ‘Alien’ musical.

Per Deadline, acclaimed actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key has joined the cast of Only Murders in the Building for his role in Season 5. The series stars Emmy-nominated Fargo star David Thewlis as the titular Holmes while Blu Hunt embodies Amelia Rojas, a young Native American woman determined to prove to the world-famous sleuth that he is her father. Created, written, and executive produced by Brendan Foley, the series features The Closer alum James Duff as its showrunner.

Once you get all of your jokes à la “Wait, another TV series titled Forever?!” out of the way, you might want to mark your calendars: Netflix’s series adaptation of the controversial-for-its-time Judy Blume novel will release Thursday, May 8, the streamer announced Wednesday.

Netflix has also released a new batch of first-look photos from Mara Brock Akil’s reimagining of the 50-year-old novel, which you can scroll down to see. (A previously released teaser trailer can be viewed above.)

On Sunday night, “Anora” director Sean Baker made Academy Awards history by winning four Oscars in the same year for the same film, collecting gold statues for Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Editing.

Alien: Earth is set to make its premiere this summer on FX on Hulu, and if names like Timothy Olyphant and Sydney Chandler weren’t enough to pique your interest in the sci-fi series, perhaps some Fargo favorites will help, as the full cast-list has now been revealed. The prequel show is set two years before the events in 1979's Alien, and follows a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers as they make a discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's biggest threat.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, 11 new names have been added to Alien: Earth to round out the cast, many of whom will appear in guest roles throughout the course of the eight-episode first season. Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley is at the helm, and will be reunited with three stars from the FX series, including Richa Moorjani, Karen Aldridge, and Andy Yu. Additional cast members...

Other newcomers include Max Rinehart (from Industry), Amir Boutrous (from Good Omens), and Victoria Masoma, plus Tom Moya (Midsomer Murders), Andy Yu (Fargo), Michael Smiley (Bad Sisters), Jamie Bisping (Mandy), and Tanapol Chuksrida (Thai Cave Rescue). What roles they’ll play is still under wraps.

These actors are joining a cast that already includes Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, and several others like Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, and Adrian Edmondson.

The show is set two years before the events of the 1979 film Alien—in 2010. At this point, five major corporations—Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold—are the real powers.

Chris Rock is playing coy about hosting the Academy Awards again. It's a good time to be a fan of the Alien franchise. After last year's incredibly successful Alien: Romulus, written and directed by Fede Álvarez, a sequel was greenlit with the director returning to continue the story of Rain Carradine (Cailee Spaeny). Bong Joon-ho's first film since his Academy Award-winning film Parasite, Mickey 17, is one of the year's most anticipated films for many. Based on Edward Ashton's novel of the same name, the film follows an unlucky drifter named Mickey (Robert Pattinson) who volunteers to be an "expendable" on a human colony. Being an expendable means taking on dangerous missions with little chance of survival, and Mickey volunteers without knowing the full extent. Each time he dies on a mission, he is cloned. Thus creating multiple versions of himself. Most of the film revolves around the 17th and 18th clones of him (hence the title) and both versions have peculiar accents.

With the Oscars just around the corner, actor Kieran Culkin is poised to win his first Academy Award for his role in A Real Pain, adding another statue to his already impressive collection. Although Culkin started acting when he was only eight years old, he's best known for his portrayal of Roman Roy in Succession, a role that earned him a much-deserved Emmy. Before taking on that career-making role, Culkin delivered a brief yet unforgettable performance on the FX series Fargo. Steve Buscemi still can’t believe that his “Fargo” accent endures in the zeitgeist, especially after Robert Pattinson cited the performance as an influence for “Mickey 17.”

Pattinson leads Bong Joon Ho’s English-language “Mickey 17,” which premiered at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival. During the press conference for the film, Pattinson shared that he was inspired by Steve Buscemi’s “Fargo” character for one of the eccentric accents of his various Mickey roles. (Pattinson plays an “expendable” named Mickey who is brought back to life 17 times and counting to endure deadly space missions.)

“I actually think I realized today what I was doing,” Pattinson said of how “Fargo” was part of his accent prep work, via Variety. “We were doing an interview earlier and Bong said one of the thoughts he was having for [Mickey] 18 was Peter Stormare from ‘Fargo.’ And then I think how that went into my head was...

Robert Pattinson said he channeled Steve Buscemi's Fargo character in Mickey 17, which follows the disposable life of a human guinea pig. Buscemi is still oblivious to Pattinson's role and the film, but he's still floored by the comparison.

Mickey 17 will feature a quirky Easter egg in every scene Robert Pattinson is in. The actor recently revealed his Mickey 17 and 18 reprints emulated Carl Showalter and Gaear Grimsrud, Steve Buscemi and Peter Stormare's characters in 1996's Fargo. That explains Mickey 17's eternal optimism, something that's likely shared by previous reprints. Speaking to THR, Buscemi said he's unaware of the compliment, unsure if Pattinson was referring to his accent in the film. Buscemi played iconic roles in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction but Fargo was a milestone in his career.
