Deal or No Deal, classic game show that's simple enough is put into a hybrid "Survivor" show. Basically extending the show into bit pieces to extend ONE winner throughout multiple episodes competing in stupid activities. The host is some b-list character actor that I'm sure few people have ever heard of.
You don't need to take a formula that already works and add to it. What's the saying? "Don't mess with perfection."? You wouldn't want to watch people having to eat bull balls or run through mud to get to the wheel on Wheel of Fortune? The game is already peaked at where it's at.
I honestly don't know what they're thinking at this point, except to drag it out more and "try something new"... except it's pointless. It's a show that's doomed to fail before it even airs most likely. I can guarantee most won't like it.

Totally get it mix Deal or No Deal with Survivor which isn't a bad idea. But it makes no sense whatsoever.
I pushed through the first episode because it looked like it was going somewhere. But it didn't lol
The casting isn't bad - Boston Rob is naturally saving the series from some people who think this is their meal ticket to stardom.
Then in the last 5 minutes they turn the tables and get rid of someone completely invisible for the entire episode. Nah...
That poor guy didn't even get anything through the episode so you can't just blindside the audience like that and it made no sense because it negates the entire deal or no deal part... Play fair
Editing is shocking. Don't have all these contestants if you're focusing on the most weird and desperate for fame.

The Survivor stuff, splashing through mud, etc., I can live without. I've never watched Survivor, so the physical challenges do not appeal to me. When it comes to the actual case-choosing game, they have inverted the object of the game from what it was. Contestant is now building a team total, not playing for himself/herself. And, they have added a rule that the deal the Contestant ultimately takes must be a number higher than the (hidden) case he/she first chose, which means the winning strategy must be to eliminate all the high-amount cases. It turns Howie's studio game around backwards. Makes no sense.
The classic game of deal or no deal that we all know and love just got a little more entertaining!
With more high skates and bigger prizes it makes the game that more interesting! And the fact that the only way to stay in the game is to have a better deal is smart!
The whole "survivor" aspect is perfect where each week the contestants go through challenges to collect briefcases and do what they can to avoid the lowest one
This concept works really well and it seems like this is going to be a fun show and season with twist and turns..
Also I'm wondering if Howie is the banker it would only make sense especially if they're revealing who it is at the end of the season..

Yes, it's deal or no deal meets Survivor... Sorta. The players are mostly interesting, but there are a few that are a little annoying or they just sorta blend into the background. The challenge games are fine - the loser of the challenges are up for elimination. The twist that is you don't beat the banker in the final game you go home and if you do, you send someone else home. I sorta like this idea just because it's different. I like that Claudia is on from the original game show. I have a feeling Howie is the banker on the ship though since I don't feel like they could really have the show without him. Anyway, I recommend giving it a try and see what you think about it.
