Season 2 of the Netflix live-action adaptation of One Piece has yet to announce a release date, but it has already broken a franchise record. The next installment was confirmed immediately following the show's success when it first came out in 2023. Since then, numerous cast members and the reveal of Chopper, the Staw Pirates' doctor, have been announced. As the show grows with anticipation, its production has caused it to reach this niche achievement.
The One Piece franchise spans multiple seasons and manga releases, and the gap between volumes and seasons would typically span months. As Netflix and Eiichiro Oda continue to withhold details of when the next installment will drop, the gap between the first and second seasons of the live-action series will break the franchise record of "longest gapbetween seasons in the One Piece franchise." While One Piece has numerous content spread around digital and physical media, the gap...

One Piece Live-Action has been a complete treat to the eyes in terms of visuals and recreating the same emotions that follow the anime and the manga. This trait also extends to the adaptation’s perfect casting, where Emily Rudd and Lera Abova, who play the roles of Nami and Robin in the series, have already been fan favorites.

Many fans were skeptical at first when Netflix announced plans to create a One Piece live-action series, considering the fact that both the manga and anime series were already successful in their own rights. However, when Matt Owens and Steven Maeda's One Piece arrived on the streaming platform back in 2023, it drew massive audiences and immediately became one of the best manga adaptations of all time. With the second season confirmed to be underway, more stars have joined the One Piece Season 2 cast, with Sophia Anne Caruso (The School for Good and Evil), Mark Penwill (Catch Me a Killer), and Anton David Jeftha (Legacy) as the latest additions.

While Disney has proven that almost everybody has a soft spot for fairy tales, the 2022 Netflix movie The School for Good and Evil takes a look at the classic stories of princes, princesses, and evil queens from an entirely new perspective. Based on the young adult novels by Soman Chainani, the film centers on best friends Agatha and Sophie, who are from a small village where nothing magical ever happens. When they discover a magical book, they are swept away to the School for Good and Evil, where heroes and villains from fairy tales are real figures of history.
Much to their surprise, Sophie is placed in the School for Evil, and Agatha is assigned to the School for Good. With eight books in the School for Good and Evil series, there’s a lot of potential for a continuing film franchise. It’s been two years since the first movie premiered on Netflix,...

Charlize Theron transformation, Monster role, Oscar winner, extreme makeover, Hollywood actress ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Charlize Theron didn’t just play Aileen Wuornos in Monster—she became her, shaving her eyebrows and gaining 30 pounds to embody the serial killer so thoroughly that it shocked Hollywood norms. “You’re probably going to say no,” she once admitted about taking on such an extreme transformation. But Theron wasn’t here to play nice with the Hollywood machine. She didn’t want to be typecast as just another blonde bombshell. She tried to break the mold—and she did, Oscar in hand.
Theron’s commitment to transformation became her calling card. In Monster, she showed that she wasn’t afraid to defy expectations—even if it meant altering her body in uncomfortable, grueling ways. Fast forward to Tully (2018), where she morphed into a sleep-deprived, postpartum mom grappling with isolation. She nailed the vulnerability and...

The Witcher season 3 concluded with many questions about the main characters' fates. As Geralt, Jaskier, and Milva set out to rescue Ciri from Nilfgaard, Ciri has joined up with a group of misfits calling themselves The Rats. Meanwhile, there is unrest among the surviving sorcerers of Aretuza, and Fringillas alliance with the elves comes to an end after Francesca discovers the truth of her babys death. Along with the recasting of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt after Henry Cavills exit, The Witcher season 4 has a lot of story to tell, and will introduce a new character named Regis.
Along with big changes on and off screen, The Witcher season 4 brings in Laurence Fishburne as the mysterious Regis. While Fishburne hasn't done a ton of fantasy, much of his filmography includes films in fantasy's cousin genre, sci-fi. Most notably, he played Morephus in The Matrix films. Although the evolution of streaming remains a divisive topic in Hollywood, Paul Feig is not one to turn up his nose at opportunity.
After his latest film Jackpot! premiered on Prime Video in August, the director recently called streaming platforms “a blessing for filmmakers who simply want to get their movies made” amid an ongoing decline in production following last year’s strikes.
“We’d all love to be making theatrical films with big releases but with the studios cutting back on their output, the streamers have really stepped up to let us tell our stories with real budgets,” Feig told Empire.
Feig previously helmed Netflix‘s 2022 adaptation of the Soman Chainani young adult fantasy novel The School for Good and Evil.
Most recently, he directed Jackpot!, which stars Akwafina as Katie, a wannabe actor who, in 2030, wins the lucrative, multi-billion-dollar “Grand Lottery” jackpot. She has until sundown to collect her prize,...

Netflix has launched the full official trailer for the upcoming series ‘Kaos’ in which Jeff Goldblum plays the role of the all-powerful god, Zeus.
Zeus: King of the Gods, ruler of the world. He’s cruel, stylish and all-powerful.
That is until he’s not. From BAFTA-winning screenwriter and showrunner Charlie Covell (The End Of The F***ing World), Kaos is a bold, darkly comic, contemporary take on Greek mythology: exploring love, power, and life in the underworld.
Having long enjoyed his status as king of the gods, Zeus’s reign has never been truly threatened. That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Believing it to be the harbinger of an ancient prophecy which foretells his destruction, neurosis sets in: Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming. As his paranoia takes hold, the god of gods – seeing signs everywhere – starts to dangerously self-destruct.

After the misfiring Potter-esque fantasy The School For Good And Evil, Paul Feig is back on relatively solid ground with this straightforwardly enjoyable action comedy. Jackpot! occupies a similar space as Feig’s Spy, The Heat, or even a smidge of Bridesmaids: a high-concept action comedy full of wild set-pieces and frenzied action sequences.
Set in the very near future, it plays like a cross between The Purge and It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Aspiring actor Katie (Awkwafina) unwittingly finds herself the subject of a deadly lottery: whoever murders her will become a billionaire, leading to an enjoyably chaotic manhunt on the streets of Los Angeles. If she survives, she becomes the winner. Only lottery protector Noel (John Cena) can help her — for a cut of her potential winnings.
John Cena is the surprise Mvp here, contrasting his big-bicep buffness with very funny dad humour.

The ceiling’s pretty low on the action comedy category — a genre whose biggest hits tend to pepper anemic shootouts with wisecracks from former “Saturday Night Live” stars. With Prime Video entry “Jackpot!,” director Paul Feig switches up the formula, crafting stunt-intensive set-pieces where the action itself makes you laugh. That could mean anything from Awkwafina hiding out among the wax figures of a tacky Hollywood museum to the sight of ex-wrestler John Cena taking on a room of black belts with the “Crazy Rich Asians” breakout strapped to his back.
Why are people trying to kill Awkwafina? “Jackpot!” asks audiences to buy in to a clever but often illogical premise about a radical rule change to the California lottery. In the year 2030, the winning ticket comes with a price: The money’s only yours to keep if you can stay alive till sundown. In the meantime, winners must navigate...

Paul Feig has tickled the funny bone several times as the director of “Bridesmaids,” “The Heat,” and “Freaks and Geeks,” but funnily enough, his latest film will instead have him for the first time tackling the horror genre.
Feig is set to direct an untitled thriller for Blumhouse about a really bad roommate, and the film will draw from the same source material that inspired the Netflix true crime docuseries “Worst Roommate Ever.” This is actually the first time Blumhouse is producing both an unscripted series and a scripted thriller based on the same source material.

The film will be an original story written by Stephen Susco (“Unfriended: Dark Web”), but it is inspired by William Brennan’s New Yorker article that served as the basis for “Worst Roommate Ever,” which was also produced by Blumhouse. He’s already dramatized the carnage that can ensue after eating at an iffy Brazilian steakhouse in “Bridesmaids” or performing an emergency tracheotomy at a Denny’s in “The Heat.” Now, Paul Feig will show the chaos that can be caused by a bad roomie.
The filmmaker, best known for comedies like “Spy,” will direct a new feature film for Blumhouse, the production company behind horror hits like “The Purge” and “Get Out.” It’s based on a New York Magazine article by William Brennan that has already led to the Netflix unscripted television series “Worst Roommate Ever.” Blumhouse produced the series, which has been a popular success — its first two seasons both ranked among the 10 most-watched shows on Netflix globally when they premiered.

Paul Feig is set to direct a new movie for Blumhouse based on William Brennan’s New York Magazine article that inspired the Netflix unscripted series Worst Roommate Ever.
In the pic, a newly single woman finds a seemingly perfect gentleman to sublet the spare room in her dream home, but she soon learns that his deceit goes beyond a phony name and application, and she has unwittingly invited a serial squatter into her home who won’t leave without a fight.
“Worst Roommate Ever resonates so much because as the internet has connected so many of us, it also makes it easier than ever to lie about who you are. But then the story is jaw-dropping and keeps you on the edge of your seat,” Blumhouse CEO and founder Jason Blum said. “Paul is the perfect director for this because his work always manages to strike a balance between the dark and the light,...

I’ve always appreciated Charlize Theron’s sense of style, which often leans toward sophisticated silhouettes with an air of timelessness. Her sense of refinement is admirable, but I have to admit there are moments when I get tired of seeing her in outfits that include blazers.
For the Africa Outreach Project 2024 Party, however, Theron completely mesmerized me with her shirtless blazer ensemble. I wasn’t surprised she was wearing Christian Dior, having been an ambassador for the brand’s J’adore fragrance since 2004 and, more recently, its skincare and jewelry lines.

Having dabbled in YA fantasy (The School For Good And Evil) and Wham!-based Christmas movies (Last Christmas) in recent years, director Paul Feig is getting back into his Spy and The Heat action-comedy groove with high concept Prime Video movie Jackpot! A sort of The Purge-meets-Euromillions-rollover caper set in very-near-future Los Angeles, this one sees Awkwafina's struggling actor Katie reluctantly teaming up with John Cena's amateur lotto heavy Noel when she unwittingly hits the jackpot, only to learn that California state rules allow anybody to kill the lottery winner before sundown without consequence. If it sounds a bit zany, then it looks even zanier. Check out the wackadoodle trailer below;
See? Crackers! We don't know if it's the 'Holding Out For A Hero' needledrop, John Cena's whip cracking skills, or the Peacemaker star and Awkwafina's classic opposite-sides-of-the-tracks mismatched buddy bants that's doing it for us, but from...

John Cena and Awkwafina star in the action-comedy Jackpot!, where Awkwafina's character wins the Grand Lottery, but becomes a target for those seeking her multi-billion dollar jackpot. The first trailer spotlights the humorous chemistry between its leads, as well as the various foes they will fight in the film, including Simu Liu's rival to Cena. Director Paul Feig and the collaboration with Awkwafina and Simu Liu could help Jackpot! redeem Cena's recent action-comedy disappointments.
John Cena and Awkwafina return to the world of action comedies in the first Jackpot! trailer. Awkwafina leads the star-studded cast as Katie, an aspiring actor who moves to 2030 Los Angeles and finds herself the winner of the Grand Lottery, though doesn't realize this pits her as the target for anyone to kill her by sundown and claim her multi-billion dollar jackpot. It’s time to raise an Aviation gin martini to toast Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively returning for another glamorous mystery with A Simple Favor 2 from director Paul Feig.
Amazon MGM Studios announced Wednesday that the sequel movie, which is a co-production with Lionsgate, is looking to begin shooting this spring and will stream on Prime Video. Feig is back to helm the follow-up to his 2018 dark comedy, with Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho and Kelly McCormack all reprising their roles from the first feature.
Jessica Sharzer, who penned the initial movie, returned to write the sequel, with Feig and Laeta Kalogridis also contributing to the script. Sharzer’s screenplay for the original film was based on the 2017 novel of the same name by author Darcey Bell.

I can almost imagine Out of Darkness’ director Andrew Cumming pitching the film to potential backers as Quest for Fire meets Predator. And that would be a fairly accurate description of this Stone Age thriller about a tribe of early humans being picked off by an unseen foe. And one that makes it sound a lot less cerebral and more commercial than it might otherwise appear.
45,000 years ago, six early humans have left their tribe to find a new home. Leading the group is Adem, who also has his young son Heron and Ave who’s carrying Adem’s child along with him. Also making the trek are Geirr, Adem’s more cautious second-in-command and Odal’s who seems to be some kind of shaman and last, and certainly least,...

The Atlas Six adaptation puts a dark and mature spin on a magic school setting, catering to a more adult audience. Unlike stories like Harry Potter, The Atlas Six explores the darker aspects of knowledge and power rather than emphasizing themes of love and friendship. The Magicians, a Syfy series that premiered in 2015, successfully portrayed mature themes and complicated characters, and could offer a blueprint.
Amazon's The Atlas Six adaptation will put a dark and mature spin on magic school settings, and there's one nine-year-old Syfy series that can serve as a blueprint. Based on Olivie Blake's novel of the same name, The Atlas Six will offer fantasy lovers a tale with adult themes and a dark academia setting. Amazon announced its intentions to adapt Blake's story for television back in 2021, and while there haven't been many updates thus far, the show will make a promising addition to the current fantasy landscape.
