Watched the movie in the theater on the first day and have to say, had mixed feelings. The action scenes, bgm and some of the acting are top notch in Marco. It was also interesting to see mollywood upping the boundaries to unseen levels in some of the action sequences. However, what let's Marco down, big time, is the lack of a good story and hilarious lines in serious situations. There is no logic of rationale to Marco's aggression cos the killing of his brother and their relationship etc. Is not well established. Jagadeesh's character is quite interesting, but who asks fora threesome when he is about to get killed? Unni's dialogue delivery falls flat in certain areas as well. And of course the last action sequences, where Unni gets beaten back and blue and then gets up takes a shower and kills everyone. I mean, really? I hope we malayalees can hold films to a better standard than hailing this movie, cos to be honest, it's a very weak attempt overall. Hope this inspires future movie makers to adopt such visceral action, but with a good story.

Marco is one of such movies that I went just because of its recent hype on social media mentioning it the most violent movie of the year. They were wrong. It's not only the most violent movie of the year but it must be one of the most violent movies in the history of Indian Cinema.
This Unni Mukundan starrer is nothing but a killing crusade in which it is impossible for anyone to keep the count of the number of people getting killed. Last such movie that I watched was Kill released earlier this year, but there is a huge difference between both. While Kill has proper plot and emotional connect this one is just bloody, violent, and brutal. But that's what the makers promised, so no complain.
Technically it's a masterpiece. Killing scenes will seem crazy real and will give you chills while the background score takes the thrill to next level. It's a fast moving chaotic kill fest that is not recommended for light hearted audience, especially Kids.

The makers delivered exactly what they said they would and made the movie as violent as possible. Typical revenge driven storyline centered around a family, nothing out of the ordinary. Pretty weak script when it comes to majority of dialogues, but can be compensated with the performances and overall vibe that the film gives throughout the movie. Background score was phenomenal the whole way through. Coming to the performances, Unnimukundan was incredible and is perfectly fit for the role and he convincingly pulls of all the action scenes, Jagdish and Siddique delivered incredibly with some drawbacks that could have been solved with proper dialogues. Action scenes were mind blowing, and looked to be on par with some of the greatest action hollywood films (not kidding) with incredible cinematography and shots.
Now the main part, the film is a gorefest especially in the 2nd half. No other Indian film comes anywhere near when it comes to the violence that this movie contains and is STRICTLY NOT FOR KIDS, PREGNANT WOMEN OR FAINT HEARTED PEOPLE. Extremely brutal torture scenes, murders, slashings and brutal injuries the whole way through. Overall an incredible action packed movie that could be the new benchmark for not even Malayalam but Indian action movies.

First of all , the story is straight up mediocre and a common story from old movie . It's the fight scenes and last 30 minutes that made the movie lit.. The cinematography, Camera , editing , and especially music is top notch..
People were claiming it to be violent from beginning to end and i bet they haven't watched Hollywood, Indonesian french movies like inside , Night comes for us etc ... There is a lot of space for improvement in case of fight as most fight was using hand..i was expecting something like raid , but was just normal fight scene with some violence here and there .. Huge let down is from cgi team.. when a person is attacked using knife , blood is shown splattering which is clearly cgi and we can see it.. could've used real blood or atleast a better cgi.. Could ve used the chainsaw scenes better.. Felt like wasted opportunity. The stair case fight was technically and stylistically great , but action wise not good.hits people with something and shows fake cgi blood. And most scenes are done in dark to cover up bad cgi .
Some dialogues were cringe, and unnecessary.. some dialogues were fire.. It's actually a mixed bag saved by the intensely disturbing last 30 minutes. I don't think people would sit and watch the portion before the last 30 minutes when it's released on Netflix.
When it says intermission, i was like.. what.. nothing happened so far.. that's how bad the story is.. could've been better . But i wouldn't mind if from the beginning till end the movie was the same as the last 30 minutes..
Casting were all good.. unni did great.. Could've used more props in fight scenes than using bare hands.. Could've used prosthetic body and fake blood to show cutting and stabbing than using cgi .
Anyway recommend watching for the last 30 minutes.

Mollywood's most violent and brutal movie without any doubt. Unni Mukundan' s performance was so damn good along with each and every character of the movie gave their best to give the audience a well made cinematic package with Ravi basrur background score making it a killer theatre experience. It's advisable that a person who likes to watch a violent movie to watch it because it has raw brutality scenes which a faint hearted person can't handle it. The movie was fast paced but kept the audience engaged. With the budget constraints of Mollywood film industry and to deliver a top notch quality item hat's off to the producer and the crew who gave the audience a banger.

The movie's action sequences were truly exceptional, standing out as the film's strongest aspect. Each scene was crafted with precision and delivered high-intensity moments that kept me on the edge of my seat. The climax was another highlight, uniquely designed and breaking away from conventional Bollywood tropes, which added a refreshing twist to the narrative.
However, the movie fell short when it came to the emotional depth of the story. There was a noticeable lack of connection with the characters, and the storyline felt underdeveloped, making it hard to fully invest in the plot. While the action and climax were impressive, the weak storytelling left the overall experience feeling incomplete.
Despite its flaws, the movie is worth watching for its action and unique climax. I'd rate it a 7/10 for its efforts in pushing boundaries, even if the story didn't fully deliver.

After the success of films like KGF and Animal, it seems filmmakers are trying to capitalize on the hype, often to the detriment of quality. This trend is evident in Marco, a movie with a weak storyline and glaring lapses in logic. In one scene, the protagonist watches helplessly as a minor villain slaughters an entire group in front of him. Yet moments later, he is miraculously healed and manages to wipe out the antagonist's entire gang. Scenes like this are sprinkled throughout the movie, making it feel more comical than compelling. The excessive violence is portrayed so casually that it feels more like watching the butchering of livestock than a cinematic experience. Overall, Marco fails to deliver anything meaningful, relying solely on gratuitous violence and nonsensical plot points. I found myself laughing at the absurdity more than being engaged in the story.
Rating - 3.75/5
A one of a kind action violence drama movie unprecedented in Malayalam.
The plot of the story revolves around the gold syndicate and how the business rivalry among the cartel develops to a personal rivalry whereby the title character Marco retaliates forms the base for the storyline.
Haneef Adeni's idea of developing a standalone movie of a savage character from his filmography deserves appreciation. He has given umpteen action moments in the movie for the title character but falls flat in developing a strong screenplay which is evident through few cliche sequences in the first half. The latter half is an absolute banger with swagging action sequences, violence and bloodshed.
Unni Mukundan has given an outstanding performance as Marco the monster through hardcore action sequences and violence and proves he is an absolute showstopper delivering one of his best performance. Jagadish has given a splendid delivery of the character but gives an impression that the potential of a versatile actor was unutilised showing minor flaws of the character arc. Impressive performances by Siddique,Kabir Duhan Singh,Anson Paul & Abhimanyu S Thilakan, giving ample avenue for performance through his debut movie.
Brilliant capture by Chandru Selvaraj bolstered with Ravi Basrur's lightning BGM's. Shameer Muhammed has precisely trimmed the movie to an action entertainer. Special mention to Kalai Kingson for the dashing actions and the colorist Srik Varier for the brilliant color toning. Hats off to Shareef Muhammed for being the frontrunner in delivering a hardcore violence movie in Malayalam. Please don't leave the theatres before the end credits.
A must watch movie on big screens to witness the technical brilliance and extreme action violence sequences. Period.

Worst move. Violent & gory just for the sake of it. Don't be mistaken I have watched "I Saw The Devil" & "Old Boy" they are violent cuz the story demands it.
In this case is dumb, stupid and plain nonsensical.
Absolute garbage of a movie. Very disappointed to see such a movie from Malayalam industry where generally most of the movies are amazing in story and acting.
No story at all. Unnecessary bg and slomo, over hyped.
Pointless killings gore. Absolute torture of 2 hours and 24 mins.
1st half you still feel okay it's leading some where. But the 2nd half wow During the entire time I was scratching my head thinking just when will this end.

Marco is an absolute must-see on the big screen uncut, unapologetic, and unforgettable. This film redefines what Indian cinema can achieve, delivering raw intensity and brilliance like no other. If you're going to miss any movie, let it be the others, but Marco is one you cannot afford to skip. It's worth every single penny you spend on a ticket more than anyone could ever ask for.
Unni Mukundan delivers a career-defining performance, embodying his character with unmatched depth and ferocity. Every single cast member has brought their absolute best, making every moment unforgettable. The storytelling, direction, and emotional intensity are on another level, keeping you immersed from start to finish.
The music, the background score, and the breathtaking locations are nothing short of spectacular, creating an atmosphere that enhances every frame. Movies like Kill and even John Wick pale in comparison to the sheer brilliance of Marco. It's everything you could ever want in a movie and more, a masterpiece in every sense.
And yes, without any cuts, this is the most violent film ever released in Indian cinema. Maybe Hollywood can create something bloodier, but they will never make another Marco or anything above it. This is the one and only; a film that will remain unmatched until the end of time. Mollywood has truly shown that it's leagues ahead, and as an Indian, I can proudly say we've created something the world will never forget.
I really hope Marco gets released on OTT platforms after its theater run, with no cuts or alterations the full, unrated version. That's what we want as viewers. Let us see the film as it was made, without taking away the essence or fun. We watch what we want, so why take all the excitement out of it? This movie deserves to stay raw and unfiltered.

Just how did this even pass the censor board? Those who like violence and action will like this movie (like me). There is a lag in the first half and the last fight scene could have been better after that huge and violent build up of the final villain.overall good movie. The 9 is for the violence, They took morals and values put it in a trash bin and burned it.
If you are looking for very story heavy movie or complex story you are surely gonna be disappointed but if you are like me who likes action and violence with some interesting character dynamic you are surely gonna have ride . So be sure to check the movie.

While I appreciated the movie's impressive style and high production quality, I found the excessive violence to be deeply unsettling, which ultimately led me to rate it only 6 out of 10. I am particularly curious about the filmmakers' intentions behind including such brutal scenes, especially those that portray violence against vulnerable groups like children and women. It raises questions about the creative choices made during production and the message they intended to convey. Furthermore, I am baffled by how the censors approved this level of graphic bloodshed and brutality for release; it seems at odds with the standards typically upheld in filmmaking. On a more positive mind Unni Mukundan for his strong effort in creating a memorable note, I must coe appearance that stood out amid the film's darker themes.

This movie is a gory movie disguised as an action film. It has a lot of scenes which are gory but barely qualifies as an action film. The action sequences are poor and incomplete. Very over hyped. Watch at your own risk.
Lot of slow motion scenes and the dialogue writing is very weak. The story line makes no sense with below par villains and acting. Unni mukundan has done an average acting. The hype created is unjustified and makes me feel cheated by the movie critics. The movie is genuinely gory and that is the only thing which has been delivered as promised. Utterly disappointed and expect more from the audience. The IMDb rating doesn't do justice to the people who go to watch on the basis of the reviews.

Unni Mukundan, biggest action hero of mollywood. His swag ,acting and screen presence just 🔥🔥. Action sequence was really goosebumps 🔥. It's a pure action movie with extreme violence. Entire casts acting was good. The hype and expectations for the movie was really high even without a trailer. The hype is real , movie is worth watching. Don't miss the theatre experience. The movie has lots of violent scenes so if you are a person who don't like vilonce and please avoid watching it.
The making is really good. Director just nailed it. Screenplay was awesome. Music and baground score was terrific. Camera and editing works are also good. Don't miss this masterpiece. Enjoy this Christmas with a blood bath cake cutting.

This movie is too much mind disturbing. Why are you giving money to get your mind disturbed. There's no story. Cringe movie. Small boy got hitten on his mouth by cylinder. Pregnant womans baby was focefully pushed. Womans mouth been made joker like face by villain.
Let it be disturbing but also there's no storyline. Hero gets fooled by villain. He just fights. Never uses his mind. Leaves villain without killing. Villain also leaves hero alive just to keep on story. I don't understand who are those people whoch are saying movie is awesome, comparing it with animal. Animal isn't disturbing. Story is stupid as well as disturbing. In my opinion this movie must be banned.

THIS IS WITHOUT AN ARGUMENT THE BEST ACTION MOVIE PRODUCED BY THE MALAYALAM FILM INDUSTRY!!.
Although the first half is kind of lost in world introduction it feels a bit slow paced but the few action sequences in the first half was phenomenal. The second half was the soul of this movie from the dialogues to the action choreography and the background music everything was perfect right to the core. Hats off to the people who worked on this film it's absolutely a must watch. Although the story was a bit cliche and was predictable its didn't matter much because of the action and fight sequences, what was promised in the teaser was delivered without any doubt. The swag produced by the character marco portrayed by UNNIMUKUNDAN was impeccable hope they make more such movies.

Movie Review: Marco
Marco is an unapologetically violent Indian action film that takes the audience on a blood-soaked revenge journey. Directed with flair and grit, it offers a spectacle of raw action, especially in the adrenaline-pumping second half.
The first half is dedicated to meticulous world-building and character introductions, laying a solid foundation for the chaos that unfolds later. While this part of the film feels a bit slow, it sets the stage for the intense and explosive second half, where the movie truly comes alive.
The film's premise is compelling, but the script, especially the motivations and depth of the villains, could have been more impactful. The climax, though satisfying, feels rushed, leaving action enthusiasts craving a longer and more elaborate fight sequence.
Ravi Basrur's background score, though effective, doesn't quite hit the high standards he has set in the past. However, the intro song stands out as a highlight, energizing the audience for what's to come.
The cinematography and direction are outstanding, bringing every scene to life with remarkable detail and intensity. Unni Mukundan delivers a commendable performance, fully immersing himself in the role and carrying the film on his shoulders. His hard work is evident and adds authenticity to the narrative.
Overall, Marco is a treat for action lovers and sets a new benchmark for bloody, high-octane action films. While it has its flaws, it's a memorable experience for fans of the genre. Prepare yourself for an unrelenting ride of revenge and carnage!

I just finished watching "Marco" which is claimed to be most violent film of India. I would say the most unrequired film of India. If there is a competition between which is worse Animal or Marco, Marco will win by a long mile.
Bad sound designing, bad script, at times bad camera work, and violence, this is the most unentertaining violent film I have ever watched. I think the makers watched John Wick or Kill or something else and wanted to make something of their own. What is it with Malayalam film industry with bad action films? Last year RDX and Marco. Man, they gotta up their bar. What a waste!
If you really want to watch a good violent film that gives you a great cinematic experience, watch Indonesian the Raid duology. Freaking amazing. Don't listen to those youtubers, they are catering audience from other states.

One of the most violent movie i ever seen
Rush is insane 🔥 The movie sets a new benchmark for bloodbath movies in India when it comes from Molly wood (Malayalam) mostly it wont disappoint us same here everything is top notch.
Unni mukundan the actor have done a great job pulling this of and the direction , cinematography , screenplay, BGM, Locations, Color grades , costuming , stunt direction. Everything is amazing.
After hero's entry you have to wait until before interval to see a proper fight scene but from that minute onwards movie is getting insane in action and violence its beautifully taken.

This movie is really extreme violence. The movie was amazing. It is not for family audience. The best movie of Unni Mukundan. I can't belive that this film is made up with a budget of 30cr. Some of the other movie took 300cr budget and show serial like story. But this is something else. This is a must watch movie. The acting of all the characters in this movie was on another level. Especially Unni, Siddique and Jagadeesh. This is an 18+ movie. Anyone who loves violence movie will really like this movie. Theater experience is must. This is the best violence movie in India. This is a masterclass.
The fight scenes are perfect. There is no air fight and no logic scenes like some other movie released in December and in 2024. Best malayalam movie.

Storyline
Starts off very well but it's a very predictable story
Acting
Jagadeesh and Siddique are the Gems of the Malayalam Movie industry
IRREPLACEABLE
Cinematography A dark tone but it fit into place for me personally Action The initial two fights were just average at best Wished to see some camera movements to capture a very powerful fight But, interval fight was too damnn good Well atleast most of it was (75% I'd say) Then we get into the 2nd half and the 2nd half has some really good, brutal, violent fights The standouts for me were the staircase fight and the house invasion fight, which even though it felt like was pushed into the movie was the most brutal one in the film But the climax fight was a dud
Honorable Mention - The dialogues and the acting of Unni Mukundan, his sidekick (dk his real name) and the one and only, Jagadeesh during the scene that happens just after the staircase fight.

Seeing immense (counterfeit) hype,I checked IMDB ratings and surprisingly it was 8.6 also on Google 85% people liked acting. Now, this literally checks all boxes.
Violence is the trademark of Marco and it trades all your logics in the stake. Literally, when you look at the cuts they feel somewhat okay and somewhere they're apt as well but as a whole it delivers nothing, literally nothing. Having A rated certificate for action is a flex, but who felt that brutality?? A total nonsense. They had a big opportunity to set benchmarks, as they've gone so far of violence, but it all felt like a vent wall stuff. Even brutal action sequences tests patience as they don't make any sense. Holding eyes to the screen burns your soul as the violence on animals, kids and women is so reckless but it's just a matter of hardly a blink and the scene is totally dumb. After the showcase of such violence and brutality in the name of cinematic liberty, nothing was apt to justify.
I survived as there's was BGM, though overused and unsynced and two absolute cinematic shots of few seconds.
All went into vain and now the cinematic liberty is at question.

After the showcase of such violence and brutality in the name of cinematic liberty, nothing was apt to justify.
I survived as there's was BGM, though overused and unsynced and two absolute cinematic shots of few seconds.
All went into vain and now the cinematic liberty is at question.
