Slight mess but appreciate the ambition and tone

Watched at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.

Folk-horror is one interesting concept as many explorations can be conducted. Despite the messy narrative and certain aspects of this movie being not great, I do really appreciate the ambitious approach the filmmaker is wanting to experience and the great camerawork is being displayed. The nature slow-burn nature, setting and atmosphere creates a creepy undertone examination, including some good horror elements and undertones throughout. Writing wise, there are some good aspects but some of the underutilized creative moments don't achieve the success as the filmmaker would really like.

The performances from the cast members are pretty good. The characters, at times are interesting, unfortunately don't have much connection as I would have liked. The makeup and designs are pretty good as well!

I can see this one not working for everyone but as a whole, I still enjoy it as a whole.
