Horseplayers

First things first, this show has some really great cinematography and the tracks that they go to are beautiful. Basically, the show follows a handful of handicappers as they crisscross the country playing in various tournaments with their ultimate goal of winning a spot in the National Handicapping Tournament. Of course winning money is just as important. "Playing the ponies" might not be for everyone, but even if you have never placed a bet in your life, your heart will start pumping as you watch the horse race to the finish line potentially winning these men and women a million dollars. The show is exciting, and the players are very entertaining, and I really hope that this show gets noticed enough for a second season. I found it by accident, so I think it needs to be promoted more as it airs on Esquire Network. It's always interesting to watch people do for a living, what you yourself were always discouraged to do.

Enjoy the show. I happened upon the channel esquire> I think it would be a better show if you gave us more information on the workings o f the tournaments. IE: is all of the entry fee put out in prizes? How are the bets made? who keeps track of whats bet & what is won? Does the money won with the bet stay with the horseplayer?Is it his plus the tournament prize?Give us some of the typical tourney rules. Are there private areas for the players in the tournament?They always appear to have a good time.the interaction between players is very friendly.I would also like to see the tote board before and after the bets are in.Are they able to bet the exotic bets as well? Do they make private bets for themselves thst are not counted in the tourney? It must be hard not to bet your longshot personally.

As a horseplayer, this series was phenomenal. From the front-side to the back-side of the tracks, to the characters betting on, riding, and training the horses, it was very interesting and informative. The well balanced nature showed us the human side of the horseplayers. The videography was terrific. Kevin Cox, Lee Smith and the Rotondo's were all amazing! No horseplayer was poorly portrayed (although Hellmers is a bit of a kook). Truly an amazing series with an amazing cast of characters. I would absolutely pay to watch another season of this series!! Loved it! Gimme more of this...please!!
