Powerful unpolished story where you are constantly on edge - doubting who will survive - as this is a Danish movie where there is no sentimentality around "heroes".
It is about war, beliefs and determination, and while there is a bit of fighting scenes, it is the raw emotions, flaws and humanity that stands out at the end.
The hodgepodge of nationalities makes the camp so realistic - like the scene with a bunch of guys prattling away in proper Nørrebro jargon. Everyone is there for their own reason and you might only get a glimpse of why. It is this imperfection that makes the story so convincing.
I was also very impressed with the filming. It captures the desert environment so well you can almost taste and feel the sand.
Highly recommend.
