When Great American Media, the Great American Family parent company, announced the layoffs of around 13 executives including the Chief Marketing Officer, they also took this as an opportunity to share some programming news. The network that is led by former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott is going to ramp up its mystery series. This includes more movies with Candace Cameron Bure.

Hallmark Mystery is not the only American mystery network. Now, Great American Family is ramping up its mysteries as well. According to Deadline, the network is planning on the “launch of mystery franchises” in Q1, which is now. They are “original movies centered on the lighter side of mysteries and whodunnits and starring fan favorites from the network’s family of talent.”

The network has already released some mysteries. This includes The Abigail Broukes Mysteries.

Exclusive: Sarah Dugdale (In The Shadow Of The Moon) is set as a series regular opposite Alexandra Breckenridge in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s Virgin River romance drama series. Additionally, Grayson Gurnsey, who recurred in the first season, has been promoted to series regular for season 2 of the series based on the bestselling books by Robyn Carr.

The contemporary romance story is centered around nurse practitioner Melinda Monroe’s (Breckenridge) recent move to the remote California town of Virgin River. Yearning for a fresh start, Monroe soon discovers that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected and that she must learn to heal herself before she can truly make Virgin River her home. Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Lauren Hammersley, Jenny Cooper, Colin Lawrence, and Daniel Gillies also star.

Things are not going well for Lori Loughlin. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hallmark has severed all ties with the When Calls the Heart star following her arrest.

Earlier this week, Loughlin was arrested by the FBI after being accused of participating in a nation-wide college admissions scheme. The Full House star has been a cast member of Hallmark's hit series When Calls the Heart since its debut in 2014. Additionally, she stars in the network's film series Garage Sale Mysteries.

Lori Loughlin‘s future (or lack thereof) with Hallmark has been decided. Crown Media will no longer be working with the actress — who is currently a series regular on the popular period drama When Calls the Heart, among other projects.

“We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations,” reads a statement obtained by TVLine. “We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin including Garage Sale Mysteries, an independent third party production.”

Hallmark Channel is severing ties with Lori Loughlin after the actress was arrested in a college admissions bribery scandal.

Loughlin, who stars on the cabler's series When Calls the Heart and in the Garage Sale Mystery TV movies, will no longer work with the network, Hallmark parent Crown Media said Thursday in a statement. Loughlin also appeared in several of Hallmark's popular Christmas movies.

The made-for-tv movie was a programming staple for the broadcast networks in the 1970s and 1980s. While it fell out of favor in the 1990s and was even dropped as an Emmy Awards category for three years beginning in 2011, it has been on an upswing as of late. This year, 34 telefilms are in contention for the five nominations that will be revealed on July 12.

All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 25 to cast their ballots for their favorite TV movies. In the past, voters were limited in the number of telefilms that they could put forth. Last year, that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted. And, as opposed to the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

Lori Loughlin was in good company at the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries 2017 Summer TCAs on Thursday.

The Fuller House star was flanked by Isabella Rose Giannulli, 18, and Olivia Jade Giannulli, 17, at the event, held at a private residence in Beverly Hills, California. All three wore perfect summer dresses, with Lori in a red ruffled, asymmetric number and her girls in pretty lace frocks.

Lori Loughlin has no problems being America's Aunt Becky. The actress, who shot to fame on Full House and has returned to the role more than 20 years after the series ended with Netflix's Fuller House, said she never felt pigeonholed by the series. "You know, to this day I still get people calling me Aunt Becky and I'm not offended by that at all. Full House has afforded me wonderful opportunities in my career," she told E! News.
